  • I looked at a couple days of your food diary, and the fat intake doesn't look that bad. MFP's values from what I understand are understated. If you are losing weight, don't worry about it. When you hit a plateu, then change things around.
  • I am sorry but I have to ask out of pure curiosity, only cause I am a white girl. I know when I work out i sweat even on my head, do you wash your hair every day? If not how do you keep the sweat smell at bay till you do. I know your hair is different than mine and again I am not asking to be mean in any way, I am just…
  • I used it several years ago but didn't have any luck with losing weight on it. I did get this drink that you only drink one ounce of in the afternoon that tasted like black licorice. It was good for getting a boost of energy.
  • thekrazycouponlady.com is another good database to look for coupons on.
  • If you have an android you can download endomondo. I have it on my HTC and I have it linked to my MFP account. When I have it on I have my phone in my bra as that is the only place that i will get an accurate reading of my speed. It does record how far you have gone and the speed you were going at all times. I like to have…
  • I would say go into a pool as that is the safewst thing for you to do. But yet again, I have to agree with the others and go see your doctor first. I would hate to see you injur yourself further.

  • I try to use reuseable containers whenever possible.
  • As others have mentioned getting meat on sale is a big help. My husband and I recently had to go to a fixed income so buying things on sale is a huge help to us. I often find Boneless Skinless Chicken breast on sale for 1.88 a lb. and tend to stock up on that. I also try to get the less expensive cuts of meat on sale that…
  • I prefer the dry sauna myself. You are not supposed to go in there right after doing cardio but I do. I go in there to stretch out my legs, especially my calves as I do the arc trainer. My daughter has asthma and doesn't like the steam room but loved the dry sauna, she didn't really have a lot of problems going in the dry…
  • If it is a whole chicken, I have placed the chicken in the crock pot on low placed lemon and orange slices in the cavity, spices on the skin and let it cook till it was done. Now if you have boneless skinless chicken breast, take four of those, with one can of reduced fat cream of mushroom soup, one cup fat free sour…
  • Also keep in mind that when you start exercising, you sweat extra water so afterwards your body will retain the water you lost while sweating and then retain a little more. In time it will even out and the extra water will go away.
  • I bought a digital scale at Target for $29.99. I don't remember the brand as they only had two available in the store I shop at. Mine is still going strong 6 months later.
  • You may have an allergy to the artificial sweeteners......My hubby gets migranes from them. Try cutting them out and see what happens.
  • Protein fills you up. I don't care for the protein powders you have to mix with water. I prefer to mix it with milk. Go to a store like GNC to get help with the powders.
  • WE have the WII for days that it is too nasty.
  • It's kind of hard to get away from eating carbs since they are in almost everything you eat. Unless you are eating straight protein you are getting carbs in your eating plan. If you are looking to lower your carbs then cut out your whole grains, it is not something I recommend. Athough, you could limit the amount that you…
  • It really depends on the person. I went a few years ago with a friend on a guest pass. I didn't care for it myself. The one that we were at had the 60+ crowd all day everyday with the 40+ crowd mixed in sparingly. I am one that if I am going to go work out in a gym and pay for membership at a gym, I want to sweat a lot and…

  • On days that I am in school, I have an insulated bag to carry my food in. I pack for 3 of us in it. Things that work well are sandwiches, carrots, fruits that are cut up, and I also have things to add to my water because water does get boring after a while. If you look in stores like bed bath and beyond they have storage…
  • Ok this sounds horrible but if you want to avoid carbs, save your money and eat only meat and eggs, drink only water, and avoid most everything else as jsut about everything you eat has carbs in it. If you are looking to cut down on carbs you can do it safely and not cut things out. I had cut out pasta, potatoes, and rice.…
  • Some people do, some people don't. A lot of people that are on here eat their exercise alories back because they can't lose weight if they don't. Other people stay under or right at their original calorie goal and do not eat any of their exercise calories back cause they gain weight if they do. I will eat a very small…
  • I have to agree with previous posts, that you do need to have a serious talk with him. He needs to understand what you are trying to do for yourself. If you are going to a sit down restaraunt, you will find that the cooks are pretty accomodating. Not too often do they get to be creative for anyone at work. When I go into a…
  • I so understand what you are saying about the gym, I was going 6 days a week. But have not been in about a month. I have to get back so badly. Like you my hubby is Type 2 diabetic, it is a rough road but good to hear you are eating right, if nothing else keep eating properly.
  • I was skinny, gained weight when I had kids years ago and never lost the weight. I got lost in taking care of the kids and husband. I am now on my way to making a healthier me. I have been diligently watching what I eat and making sure I exercise so I can have that single serving of ice cream if I want it. I can't help you…
  • Banana's are good for a prework out food, they are a bit higher in carbs and give you the energy you need to get through your workout. After workouts, I hear that it is best to eat protein. A lot of the trainers at my gym go for a protein shake and a peach. You can find lists all over the internet if you look hard enough…
  • I did medifast for about 6 months. I did lose about 50 pounds. I was one that lost weight very slowly because I was on birth control and that can slow you down greatly. I did go off the diet and also gained all my weight back. Now that I have joined MFP, I am losing. Some weeks are slow and some weeks are bigger in the…
  • Have you looked in to doing tae bo??? It works really well and there was not any jumping around. I saw result in about 3 weeks time. Unfortunately, I stopped. I had one of those ex's that would derail my efforts when I tried to lose weight.
  • I try very hard to keep the processed foods out of my eating plan but realize that it is not always an option. For me the only thing htat has really saved me from retaining all the fluid from excess sodium is the dry sauna. Bottom line is to reduce the processed foods as much as possible, :(.

  • I have mentioned things like that to the management of my gym. They can deal with the wierdo's. I have also reported people for spitting on floor of the pool area and the woman that felt the need to bath herself in perfume before coming to the gym.
  • You are really generalizing, I gained the weight back when I stopped and it was NOT because I went back to eating McDonalds and 5 Guys Pizza either. I was eating very healthy and still gained all the weight back. I am glad that you were able to keep the weight off after stopping but not everyone is like you.
