  • I had the same issue with fatigue and such when I did medifast last year. It only lasted about 3 weeks for me. Everyone on that program had the same issues, for some it lasted 2 weeks, for others up to 6 weeks. After that initial time frame, they snapped out of it and had tons of energy. There are people that can not do…
  • If you go to Bed, Bath, & Beyond there is a machine called Yonana's. It is about $50. You take 2 frozen banana's and a half cup of any other fruit that you want like peaches, strawberries, put one banana through, then the berries, then the second banana and you have something similar to ice cream.
  • I used it several years ago. I was happy with it but ended up gaining the weight back when I had stopped using the pills to help with weight loss. Although, there used to be this liquid that I drank. It was black and tasted like black licorice. It was kind of odd tasting at first but I got used to it but it was to help…
  • I don't have Type 2 myself but my husband does. It is a really hard thing to deal with. For him he LOVES his starchy foods and we know those are not always the best things to have. The best thing I can tell you food wise, is pay attention to your body and your blood levels. My hubby reacts negatively to pasta's, potatoes,…
  • My favorite used to be Lay's potato chips. those seemed to be the saltiest for me. I am not too fond of Salt and Vinegar together on a chip, lol.
  • I personally have not tried them myself. But I do hear that they are supposed to take on the flavor of whatever you cook them in.
  • While fruits and veggies have various amounts of carbs, they are considered a "free" food on many programs because most of the carbs that you get from them are fiber. You will have to go in anc calculate the fiber content of fruits and veggies you eat and subtract those from the total carb. For example, if an orange is 29…
  • I used to have a lot of issues during that TOM as well. In time it did get better with going to the gym to work out, it wasn't such a bother for those 4 or 5 days a week for me any longer. I also used to bloat pretty bad and gain like 4 pounds of water weight but then I was using the dry sauna at the gym and that seemed to…
  • Meal replacement shakes are great for a person that doesn't have a lot of time in the a.m. or someone, like my son, who can not really tolerate solid food in the morning. Another thing that I so myself is to take one cup of plain yogurt, a half cup oatmeal, and two different half cup servings of fruit throw in a blender…
  • Don't worry about weighing in every day. It sets you up for disappointment. Pick one day a week and stick to it to weight yourself. We have all fell victim to under eating and over eating. The key is not to beat yourself up over it and remember tomorrow is a new day. I have to agree with eating as clean as possible.…
  • Genetics have a lot to do with your cholesterol. I have to take meds for my cholesterol issues. You just may be a victim of messed up genetics like me :(.
  • Too much protein can cause problems with your kidneys and make constipate you. The more protein you eat, the more water you will want to drink to help push things through your system. If you have issues with passing your stools then you are begining to get constipated.
  • Yogurt, string cheese, beans.
  • Sparkpeople.com had a pretty good eating plan that was designed for you. They layed out your three meals and snacks every day. I don't remember if during the sign up process if they ask about food allergies or not, sorry about that. They do give you the option to change things you may not want to have. It is has a lot of…
  • Like another member posted here, go to a dietitian, a REGISTERED DIETITIAN. For the person that you went to to tell you not to exercise portion control is pure B.S. Any person that I have spoken to has said that portion control is key. Even my hubby who is a Registered Nurse will tell you to exercise portion control. You…
  • Curves is great for a lot of women. I tried it but could not get in to it. I did not get a good enough work out from it. If it works for you, I say go with it. Everyone is different.
  • Dry Sauna's primarily are there to help you sweat off extra water. They do help to clear out the pores. I also love it for stretching.

  • If you search under the cardio section it will track your calories burned. I have noticed that the strength section does not track calories burned for lifting weights.
  • I try to avoid the carbs from potatoes, pasta, and rice when possible and get my carbs from fruits and veggies......
  • Every diabetic is different. Diabetics do need to monitor thier carbs more carefully than anyone. For my husband we have had to cut out starchy foods at dinner because of the way his body reacts to them. I try very hard to keep his breakfast and lunch carb count at about 50 grams of carbs max. When we go to the gym we both…
  • My dad turned me on to making smoothies in the a.m. I take a quarter cup oatmeal, 1 cup 1% milk (use what ever milk you want), one half cup fruit, and ice to thicken. It is pretty good and filling. I usually find I need a snack a few hours later because this does lack protein.
  • For me it is definately McDonald's French Fries. I try to limit it to no more than 2 times a month.
  • Have you tried using crystal light?? there is also a flavor enhancer called Mio that is pretty good as well. Just remember to log in the calories that you drink from those as well.

  • Unfortunately, muscle does not weigh more that fat. A pound is a pound is a pound. Muscle just happens to be denser than fat. Your 12 inches is awesome acheivement. It is possible that you gained weight in muscle. I will say that I did not peek at your food diary but do look at the amount of carbs that you eat. For many…
  • I have used endomondo when I was going outside for my walks. I never had any issues with it.
  • This is pretty simple thing in a crock pot and can be stored for a few days or frozen in portions. 4small boneless chicken breasts 16 oz. salsa of your choice 16 oz. non fat sour cream ( I like the one that is in the white and black container, reminds me of a cow. I don't know the name of it) 2 tsp. garlic salt and pepper…
  • One of my favorite things to do is take one egg white and one mushroom cooked together kind of folded the best you can, place on a toasted whole wheat/grain muffin, a slice of tomato, a slice of onion, and a bit of mustard. You can also use a slice of lowfat cheese if you don't want the mustard. I have also used canadian…
  • I try to stay away from the starchy foods after 3 p.m. I don't eat a lot of starchy foods as it is now. When I was doing low carb eating seriously, I found on about.com the nutritional value of vegetables and fruits and stuck to the veggies and fruits that were low carb. Right now I am at about 100-150 grams of carbs a…
  • I don't really use any drinks or bars pre workout. If I do eat something before working out, I try to grab a banana and a lean protein. Post work out I will get a protein drink. My favorite out there is Pure Pro. It is the highest in protein and lowest in carbs. You mentioned you eat your protein before weight lifting, how…
  • I try to fit yoga in about 3 days a week atleast. It has helped a lot with my flexibility, I am sure it will help lose weight. I have known people it has worked for. For people like myself, I use it more for the relaxation and flexibility.
