For those following NANY exclusively: I know women need 1500-1800 calories a day. Does that mean with or without exercise or do we add for exercise calories?

Just wanna let yall know. Five weeks in, I am down 19.5 lbs and my blood sugars are lower than they have ever been (since diabetes started stalking me)!

Thanks! I am sure if I do "go off it" I will gain it back. But that is with any diet. I dont plan to go off it. I plan to do each phase and learn how to eat for ME!

I have read that book... after I carried a gallon of water with me everywhere lol. The kids use to be embarassed by it, but now they are use to me.

My blood sugars are doing awsome on this diet! I love the Atkins way. Oh, and I dont have to pee on any sticks... those arent even accurate. There are other ways to tell. My doc highly recommends this way of life for diabetics. So, for all the naysayers who I asked NOT to comment.... yall are wrong!

Now I have the stomach bug... everything with a smell makes me hurl. Finally broke down and had a spoonful of peanut butter for the fat and protein. Only thing that sounds good is cereal.

My daughters boyfriend is insecure like that. At one point she left him cause of it. They have a baby now. She finally decided that was a small part of his personality. She could learn to deal with it or stay away. She has learned how to handle him and they are doing great.

I know all about Atkins. I know all about 17 day diet. I have also been studying other low carb plans this week. I also know that on ANY "diet", if you dont follow it you wont lose weight. So if I have one piece of candy or fruit or whatever then I know I am sabotaging myself. My hubby is also aware. But I also know alot…

I have just sucked this week! But got some low carb meals planned and bought for the week. Even have tomorrows meals cooking now (slow cooker is great). Have egg muffins baking and will cook bacon in the morning to go with them (for a few days). I am going to do this, dangit!

Got a roast on for lunch (and supper) tomorrow. With celery for hubby and me, carrots and taters for everyone else. Also have our egg muffins baking for our breakfast for the week. Will cook our bacon in the morning. Going to have sliced tomatoes with those.

I was reading all the phases on Atkins. Nowhere does it say to go back and eat the way you use to (you know the way that made you fat in the first place). You slowly add back carbs with each phase to find what works for you. Fiber... seems to me that you can get all the fiber you need from veggies.

We just went shopping. Bought lots of meat, cheeses, veggies. He got some fruit, I wont be eating fruit. I am so curious to see how my blood sugars do! I am not concerned with ketosis. I will be watching calories at least until I get the hang of it all. Hubby just had blood work done yesterday. I will have blood work done…

Thanks to everyone for your input! Hubby and I are headed for a major shopping spree today. Going to stock up on our low carb food and snacks. We are going to do this together, each at our own pace. I need it for my health and we both need it for weight loss! We dont plan for this to be a diet that we will go off of when…

Thanks for all the input yall! We are going to do low carb together. We both need to lose weight. I am diabetic so it will benefit me more. I know that I can get the fiber and potassium through veggies. If not, I will add a fiber supplement.

Never thought about it. I think too much is put on looks. I prefer a smart, funny man who doesnt stink lol. That being said, I think I would prefer big calves to chicken legs.
