If you like asian food, look for those types of recipes. There's not a lot of cheese in asian food but there's usually a lot of flavor from things like garlic, onions, ginger, etc.

One of my favorite "I don't want to cook" meals is whole grain bread, goat cheese, and sliced avocado with a dash of salt. I like the spreadable goat cheese, but if I have the crumbled kind, I throw it in the toaster oven to melt it before putting the sliced avocado on top. I like Amy's frozen meals and burritos, they…

I was going to welcome Unicron but it looks like he/she has deactivated their account! So update for me...I've managed to hit my weight goal over a month ahead of schedule. Not sure how that happened but I'll take it! It means something is off in my logging. I'm guessing I'm burning more calories than I realize, because my…

I have made that quiche and it is awesome for days.

I make my own "egg mcmuffins" and freeze them. I can either thaw them overnight in fridge or in the morning in the microwave. All it takes is a pack of english muffins, a pack of pre-sliced canadian bacon, 6 eggs and 6 slices of cheese. I have a "whoopie" baking pan and I break an egg into each spot and bake the eggs.…

Welcome to the thread, plum! Good luck with the travel eating. I know that can be tough. Just take it one meal/choice at a time. Update for me - I'm holding steady around 177, which isn't surprising because I've only been eating a smidge below maintenance. My goal for this week is to really watch my intake and hit my…

Great goals! I had been doing barbell training but it was starting to get boring so I'm switching it up and just started "You Are Your Own Gym." Only day two but I can tell you my legs are jello from my workout tonight!

Lanet, good luck on your goals! I'm doing pretty well so far, I'm just under 178 so I'm on target for my 6 pounds. Tennis has been tough due to weather and scheduling but I did get out and play on Saturday for a bit. I have my eval with PT tonight and start PT on Friday. Hoping it helps! I'm waiting to see what PT has to…

Those are great goals. Good luck!

As others have mentioned, it depends on your goals. That said, I have heard good things about "You Are Your Own Gym". I haven't reviewed it yet but as I understand it is a program that relies on little or no equipment that helps you build strength using your own body weight. I've also heard good things about Convict…

Congratulations on your success. Your hard work has paid off!

Evening folks. Just joined the group so I thought I'd say hello. I live in Herndon, Virginia. I've been on MFP for a while but in the last six months I've really hit my stride. I've slowly, but steadily, lost 13 pounds since January 2014. I'm just here to find people to share experiences, frustrations, and successes.

As a fan of Stephen King's books, without a doubt, Shawshank Redemption is my absolute favorite book-to-movie adaptation.

I had to come back to list a few more that I enjoyed thanks to my husbands recommendations: Baraka Hard Candy Audition I also really liked the films I've seen by Chan-Wook Park. Oldboy Thirst Joint Security Area Stoker

I haven't read through all these so hopefully I'm not repeating suggestions. I'm more mainstream. Some of my favorite movies are Fight Club, Amelie, The Princess Bride, The Prestige, and The Fifth Element. My husband is a movie buff and has exposed me to some great movies I wouldn't normally watch. Incendies and Tell No…

I've lost 12.7 pounds since January by maintaining a small (200-250/day) calorie deficit which has involved a combination of adjusting my intake and staying more active. My fitbit has helped me with staying more active. I will echo some of the sentiments here. The biggest advantage for me was that it let me know when I was…

Tagging so I can read when I get home from work (and actually see the images). Thanks for the link.

I tend to get an upset stomach if I eat before I exercise. When I do my exercise in the morning, I roll out of bed, get dressed, and go straight downstairs to the gym. I also can't eat immediately after exercise for the same reason, so it's usually 30-45 minutes after a.m. exercise that I eat anything. For afternoon…

When I lift I like to listen to raunchy hip hop. When I run (which I don't get to do much of anymore) I like metal. When I stretch or do yoga I like down tempo electronica.

Congratulations! You have a great attitude and a great approach. Keep up the good work!

I echo many of the sentiments that suggest it depends on what nutrients you are looking for and what taste you prefer. However, keep in mind that most non-dairy milks (and even some dairy milks) contain carageenan, which in many people (myself included) causes gastrointestinal distress. However, if you like almond milk I…

Re: chicory root...ME TOO! I will not tell you what I went through to find out that was the source of my pain. You might already know this, but the ingredient inulin will usually produce the same results. It's the thing in chicory root that makes it so unpleasant. I have to read every label for packaged food, especially…

You can do it at home but you are going to need some basic equipment. Just to start, you need a barbell and weights, a squat/weight rack of some sort (for barbell squats), a step, dumbells, an exercise ball. If you skip to the back of the book where the exercises are listed out with pictures, you can get a sense for what…

Congrats! Very impressive, your hard work shows. Keep at it!

I generally don't have this problem because I do my workouts in the morning. In fact, I started doing my workouts in the morning because inevitably work or some other thing would come up and I would run out of time. I'm also a chronic insomniac so if I exercise in the evenings it tends to get me amped up and then I can't…

This is kind of what I meant by "limited amount available." I only eat them if what is available to me is a single serving size. Unfortunately right now, waiting for them to thaw is not going to stop me. But if I don't have access to more than a serving size, I can eat it.

If you can control it to that 250 and stay within your calorie goals for the day, it's perfectly fine. Just be sure that you are able to stop at 250 calories worth of chocolate. For me, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups of any shape or size are my kryptonite. If I start, I can't stop, so unless I have a limited amount available,…
