Thanks everyone for the advice! I think I'm going to try for 1/2 - 1 lb loss for a few weeks until I get to the middle of my 5 lb goal range and see what happens. But I DO think once on maintenance I may try the "250 deficit for week days to save calories for the weekend or save exercise calories for the weekend" approach.…

This! I cook with random ingredients and don't follow a recipe most times, but I DO gather all my ingredients first that way I can check the calorie total before I go too crazy adding more stuff. lol.

I just got back from vacation last night and I'm back to weight loss calories today. I ate what I wanted (within reason) and did a TON of walking every day. I don't know yet if I gained or stayed the same because I know if I weigh this morning I'll just show water weight, but I didn't do as badly as I thought I would.…

Thank you everyone for the input! I started this journey last year the day after I returned from vacation so I was all about the "loading up before the diet" last year. lol. A few years ago I was out to lunch with my mom and sister in February. My hubby called me to tell me that he got me a fully painted Warhammer 40k Ork army for Valentines day! (all post apocalyptic looking and super not-girly!) I was giddy! Mom and sis just looked at me like I had 5 heads. lol.

I've been putting off buying too many clothes until I'm closer to my gw. Most of my work clothes that I bought at the beginning of the summer "to get me through" are too big! :) Like the shirt I'm wearing today, straps keep falling down!!! I didn't even think about losing in the shoulders. lol.
