  • No ideas on how to make it fun this week...maybe a countdown of the top 5 favorite moments from HP movies. (e.g. 5. Ron drinking the love potion, 4. Harry's wand going up the troll's nose....etc.) EDIT: I was thinking like 1 each day or something, not all at once. I am not very creative, can you tell? Anyway, I was down…
  • start weight: 199.6 7/6 - 199.8 grrr! 7/13 - 7/20 - 7/27 - 8/3 - 8/10 - 8/17 - 8/24 - 8/31 - 9/7 - goal weight: 189 Not so great, but could be worse. I have really been hitting the workouts hard the past couple of days so I was hoping for at least a little bit of loss...and so it goes. Everyone else seems to be kicking it…
  • OK, I am in! I have been traveling for work for the past couple of weeks so I didn't weigh in last week. I will use yesterday's weight as my starting, so I probably won't see a big change the first week. I hope to lose 10 lbs....been on a plateau for a long time so I hope to crack through that now that I am home. start…
  • Sorry guys, a couple of weeks on the road for work wasn't kind. I will buckle down and be better next week!
  • I logged it as 25 min of "Circuit training" until i got my HRM. It was within 10-15 cals of what my HRM says so I think it is pretty close. Good luck.
  • I have p90 and I have been thinking about starting it...I would be happy to team up for support. The only problem is that I will be in Philadelphia at a conference in 9 days...I suppose I can take it with me and try to do it in my hotel room....that failing I can start when I get back on July 1. Feel free to friend me or…
  • Definitely the bottled water! A lot of times when you get the munchies it is because you are thirsty. You can even take some "Mio" or Crystal Light packets to flavor it up if it gets old. Also consider raisins, nuts, dried fruit, whole wheat crackers with cheese or almond butter, and cut up veggies like carrots, celery,…
  • With the amount you are exercising it is possible that you are building muscle mass, which weighs more than fat. That is a good thing and should only affect the weight loss thing temporarily until your body finds the balance and you start losing the pounds again. I would keep eating right and drinking the water, especially…
  • I understand the overwhelming feeling that can come with trying to make positive lifestyle changes. Often we get overwhelmed when we try to look at the whole thing as one giant task that must be accomplished all at once. Try not to focus on wanting to lose 50 pounds, but instead focus on making some lifestyle choices that…
  • That is so cool Gin! I have thought about try a tri...but 1) I can't swim and 2) I can't ride a bike without my hips and lower back hurting (even when I was a kid)! I have considered learning to swim, more than the doggy paddle I currently do, and trying to work up to some distance on a bike, but it all seems so…
  • I have the Polar FT7 and love it! It seems to be really accurate and it is waterproof if you don't push the buttons underwater. I paid about $80 for it on Amazon. My 2 cents worth.
  • I have the FT7 and I love it. It does everything I want it to...calories, heart rate, archive. I got it on Amazon for $82, which was a great deal. It is overwhelming, and I did a lot of research before I bought, but I don't have any regrets so far so I guess it was the right choice. The FT4 is also a good one, not quite…
  • Welcome! You will find some great people and great support here. One of my favorite things about this site is that not everyone is taking the same path to getting healthy. Each of us are individuals and we each have our own way of doing things and this site allows for the different journey's we are all on. Feel free to…
  • I have this..have ever since I was a kid. My Dr suggested three exercises to strengthen the inner thigh muscles. First was to ride a bike. Apparently riding helps work the inner thigh muscle because of the "straight on" motion. Second, he suggested straight leg lifts. Sit in a chair and take your foot out straight, hold…
  • I have a very similar problem living in Utah. I have found that I have to have 3 meds: Allegra D (not just Allegra), Nasacort spray, and Advair. I have also noticed that time of day makes a difference. If I wait and go running in the evening, it is a lot worse than earlier in the day. The one thing that has helped me more…
  • start weight: 203 4/27 - 204.2 5/4 - 200.8! 5/11 - 201.2 (bleh) 5/18 - 197.8 (I'll take it!) 5/25 - 198 6/1 - 198 6/8 - 198 6/15 - 198 6/22 - goal weight: 188 This is getting discouraging!. I have a lot of people telling me how good I am looking, and my clothes are getting looser, but I would still like to see the scale…
  • About 5 or 6 pounds and about 9 inches. It works!
  • OK, for the challenge (better get it in before another one come along :-): I live in a small, rural area and we don't have a Farmer's Market and none of the locals are selling yet, but I did get a Bountiful Basket with some great veggies and fruit in it this time! 5 fitness goals: Run a 5K with my son (he has just started…
  • I put it under Circuit training for 20 mins. until I got my HRM. Turns out the generic was a little low on calories by about 50. I still thought that wasn't bad considering they didn't know my age/weight/etc. So I would say just put it in as that, figuring it will be close.
  • I did it, not every day, but I got through it. I only lost about 6 pounds, but I lost 9 inches. There is a lot of muscle definition I didn't see before and a lot of people are finally noticing the changes...it was like the 15 lbs I lost before didn't show, but 30 days of Jillian did! I am planning to go again with it after…
  • OK, so I am down 1.5 this week. I was hoping for more and I am still not sure I am over the plateau...still plugging away though. My life gets kind of hectic in the summer...single mom of 4 (3 still at home) and I travel a lot for work...it will be a challenge to stay on track with all the stuff I have coming up!
  • I would put in "Cleaning, light effort" for most of the chores and such you do. There is also a "Cleaning, moderate effort" for those things you do that require more umph! Type in "Cleaning" and they should come up.
  • I did it! 6 sets of 30 1 set of 40 Total= 220 My thighs hate me right now! Thanks:happy:
  • I had a similar pain several years ago (OK, almost 20) and it turned out to be my gall bladder. Surgery took care of the problem. I would suggest you get it checked because there may be things the Dr can tell you to do without surgery, and as the earlier post says, it could be heart issues. Good luck.
  • I'll take it!
  • I got my Polar FT7 on Amazon for $82 and I LOVE it! It not only tells me the HR and Cals, but it inspires me to work harder longer. I can see the calories burned at say, 350 and i tell myself I want to hit 400...then 500...then 600. I love seeing the numbers go up! Hi, my name is Charice and I am a geek!
  • Did it work?
  • Sorry guys, up a pound this week. After no loss last week it is somewhat discouraging. I had a luncheon I had to go to yesterday...I did OK on calories, but I'm sure it was waaaay high in sodium, so I am hoping it is mostly water. Anyway, I am starting a new exercise regimen this week so hopefully that will help. I hate…
  • Julie, I forgot to mention...kudos on the size change (it is nice not to have the X along). Also, congrats on standing your ground with your hubby and getting those running shoes! You are a total inspiration to me. I don't have a great support system either...I mean, my kids are cool with it, but they better be I'm the…
  • Ugh! I have had such a crazy week...ever since last Wednesday I have been running crazy, driven a couple thousand miles (not exaggerating) and feeling really down. I keep thinking it will get better and then, it doesn't...something else keeps coming up. I am glad to see you all doing well. I have missed checking in. I did…
