I just do it whenever I've managed to get up, and go to the loo before drinking/eating anything! Because I do this my weight seems to stay pretty consistent! I have been in maintenance more or less for about 5-6 years now.

I've been listening to a podcast which addresses emotional eating - worth a go: freedom from the diet cycle. Paul Wistuba.

You're the same size as me I think. And almost impossible to have a waist that size unless you are naturally built that way.

Something is amiss for sure. You are either (or both) eating more or burning less calories. I'm 5 foot tall, 46 kg, 56 years old, with a desk job and workout for half an hour 4-5 times a week and maintain on around 1600.

I'm a giant here! 5 foot! Clothes are too long, too big, blah blah!

This is definitely an advert for something!

Just carry on eating at a deficit and start weight training. Body weight is fine initially. But you need to do a fair amount of resistance type training to build muscle. Particularly as a woman. Forget all those numbers - they are a rough guess at best. Concentrate on your workouts and your food and you will gradually see…

What everyone says. Eat enough so you are in a smallish calorie deficit, and do some strength training.

Metabolism doesn't vary much.

Recomp is what I have been doing very slowly for years - I'm small (about 5 foot) and can't bear to run a bulk/cut cycle (I hate myself if I put on weight and probably don't train hard enough to really make good muscle gain). However since about 5 years ago when I lost about a stone, taking me to around 103 pounds, I've…

I line mine up with the same tile in the bathroom every time and stand in the same spot on the scales. They are very consistent used that way. Digital scales, cost about £20.

https://youtu.be/mPU0jit0Zek Working through this series of 50 workouts. They are the toughest YouTube workouts I've tried.

I get 19.8 body fat (athlete!) But 31% BMI - so I am not following? I would guess realistically I'm around 22-24% body fat.

5 foot UK size 6 102 pounds BMI 19.9

Small person here too - with shoulder and knee problems. I do weights, but not really heavy ones, but see it as a work in progress! Since about 5/6 years ago (when I started calorie counting and lost around 6 kilos), I started using weights and it has been a very slow recomp as I don't want to bulk. I am very gradually…

It's the old water retention and 'weight loss isn't linear' thing. Eat a bit more and calm down. Weight loss is for life, and is better taken at a steady pace. What is 3 weeks in the grand scheme of things? Nothing, that's what!
-
I lost around a stone at about 50. Now I'm 56 and have maintained that loss - it's a myth about metabolism slowing. We just mostly get lazy and greedy.
-
Had mine in early February (NHS worker). So actually waiting to be able to do anything! It's all still shut!
-
I lost around a stone then and have kept it off. So it's not impossible at all.
-
I'm small - just over 5 foot, age 55, weigh about 104 pounds. No idea what measurements are though. I am always trying to get athletic looking thighs 😂 I must have done a billion squats (still not great though!).

Her weight is 210, not 121!
-
Oh I can't attach a photo.
-
Ok. Been recomping for a fair while. Both fat may 22%? Or what?
-
Or some really lovely cake! That should sort your 400 calories out1
-
I did the same - I didn't lose as much as some of these guys, but it was still 10% of my body weight - I just keep within my calories now (roughly) and have maintained for about 3 years.
-
You sound pretty active, and you are very young - these are both good reasons to be needing the amount of calories you eat, and more if you are steadily losing weight.

My work (london financial company) has got us splitting our teams and doing two weeks in office and two weeks working from home, to reduce any spread and allow for deep cleaning of desk areas. Our useless government is doing nothing. My son is having to come home from his travels around SE Asia as no countries will let…

Surely an increase of 3 pounds in LBM in one week is totally impossible? Even for a steroid munching man?
