  • Good for you. That is exactly what the dietician said to me. I am geared up for losing 1 lb a week. Because of my exercise I may lose a little more but I set things up to take one year to lose it all. I am allowed 1470 because of that. My doctor suggeted I go to 1200 and my dietician said, "sure, if you want to fail and…
  • You can stop. I used to weigh what you weigh many years ago. I let hormones, emotions, stress and everything else take over. You can't do that. I am now over 200 lbs and fighting at 57 years of age to take these pounds off. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that a little candy here and few chips there would bring me…
  • I would help my family and friends. Buy myself a Prius. Send my husband around the world starting with a trip to Italy. I would donate to several charities and become more hands of with some of them. I'd love to provide shoes and pajama's for children in need. I would buy food and give it away randomly to people who visit…
  • HI Dawn, If I can give any advice it would be to learn the nutrition part of your food. It will help in your success. Friend me for support. I'm new here too. Denise
  • Do you watch "The Biggest Loser". I've been watching it all season while they have gone through the excuses. I honestly believed I didn't fall into the group of people who made excuses. Then I had emergency surgery to get my gallbladder out. I met the dietician while in the hospital. I made up a few excuses about weight…
  • Wonderful accomplishment. The pictures are encouraging for me. Hang in there. You are doing well.
  • Absolutely wonderful news. Triple digits. I don't even know you can I am so proud of you. How awesome is that!!!!! You did it. Keep up the good work. Like you I waited a lifetime. Now it is my turn. I'm on week one and I hope to reach my goal by this time next year. 57 lbs and maybe more......
  • Try to eat what you want but in moderation. I wanted subway but found out from my dietician that a 6 inch sub is 3 breads. Tonight I had 1/2 of a sandwich 160 calories. Then had other things with my dinner that were lower calories. If you want a candy bar, check out how many calories it is and walk it off. It looks like…
  • After reading your post I'm sure MFP with inspire you. We all have different journeys but the same goals. We either want to look good for feel good. For those of us who are older than 40 I'm guessing feeling good is the priority. With your background, you will know what to do. My philosophy is a simple one. I am allowed a…
  • 2 lbs is better than 0 pounds. On the other hand check your portion sizes and if you are within range then you may need to add some things. For example: One day I was way under my calories. The next day I added non dairy creamer, 1 tsp sugar to my tea and added 1/4 avocado to my sandwich. This added a few extra calories…
  • Your pictures inspire me. Once upon a time in the 1980's I met my goal and looked and felt great. Seeing your pictures reminded me that it is obtainable. Good job.
  • Diva, I will pray for your father. My dearest friend did not live long enough to get hers and I will pray with all my heart for your father. Prays with you and the rest of your family as well. Hang in there. Get whatever rest you can. God's Blessings to you all.
  • My sister inlaw asked me this question today. When I told her I didn't know we both started laughing. Like many of the other reponses, I agree a bonus.
  • Feel free to request me. I haven't even been on here for a week yet and I have been supportive of others and have gotten support in my life so count me in.
  • That is awesome. My husband runs marathons and every year there are tons of women who run, all shapes and sizes. My daughter inlaw ran Grandma's marathon with him twice. It is an inspirational story. Are you a runner and do you plan to run a marathon?
  • I have 57 lbs to go but in reality, once I get there I may add another 20 so I hear you big time. Right now all I want is to get under 200. One day at a time. I'm not sure how to make someone a friend, but if you can figure out how to add me then you have one. I will encourage when I get signed in and help you stay…
  • My husband had thyroid cancer and struggles to keep weight on. Perhaps your dose of synthroid is too strong. His doctor also told him not to buy the generic as there is contraversy over the reliability of the generic.
  • We have about the same amount of weight to lose. I hate the exercise part too. I decided yesterday that I would talk on my cell phone while walking on my treadmill. For now I was only going to walk 30 minutes a day but today I ended up doing 50 because of the phone. Hang in there and good luck.
  • My schedule is very similar to yours. I'm a Youth Counselor in a Residential Treatment facility for teens. I will be changing my shift on April 3rd. I spoke with my dietician today and I will wake up at 8:30-9pm and I will have my dinner, At 12:30 I will have a snack. At 3:30am I will have my lunch, at 5:30-6am I will have…
