This isn't true. It depends on which birth control you are taking and when you start taking it. Most of them are 7-10 days when you first start you need to use a second form of birth control. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS that come with the meds, ask a doctor and exercise caution listening to MFPer's about these types of things.

A lot of people found the book as a kind of slam on feminism because of the S&M relationship portrayed in the book. I didn't find it offensive in that way. The whole point of the women's rights movement was that we, as females, have the choice of designing our lives the way we see fit. But I was annoyed that she was…

I think rest days are important because they give your body a chance to heal so that you can give it 100% in your workout tomorrow. But if you must do something, try something low impact like going for a walk or a swim.

I've tried to eat more small meals throughout the day, but it's just not convenient to lug food around all the time. So I generally eat 3 meals a day. I don't snack much, but occasionally.

I'm so sorry that happened to you, but that's the funniest thing I've read on MFP. Good luck next time!

Just be proud of yourself for doing it. I've been thinking about doing it, but have been too afraid of the results. Good for you!!!

I don't know how you eat your meals but I've found eating more small meals throughout the day makes it easier to eat more calories throughout the day. After I started doing this I was able to eat all my calories without feeling like I was forcing myself to eat.

Ive seen them both ways. I'm a 38C

I love breakfast foods, but it's hard to eat in the morning. I usually have my coffee and something small like fruit or a trail mix bar. I do find that not eating breakfast messes up my appetite for the rest of the day. If I don't eat breakfast, I'm not as hungry throughout the rest of the day. That's why I like to eat…

I walk out of the gym super sweaty and smiling. :)

I don't agree. I don't eat back those kinds of calories, but I think it's good to keep track of what you are doing. Especially if you are doing a lot of cleaning.
-
Yep. You can log it on here too. A surprising amount of calories.

I agree, 4000 cals is primarily for athletes and extremely active types. If a normal person ate that much they would put on a couple of pounds a week.
-
I don't know about the whole week but I upped my calorie from 1200 to 1475 (daily). I exercise 4 days a week and am still averaging a pound a week. On days that I work out I usually don't eat all my exercise calories back. On days that I don't work out I don't find it difficult not to go over my calorie count and still am…

That sounds yummy! I use Body Fortress Cookies and Cream Whey Protein and Vanilla Soy Milk. A little sweet but I love it. Might try adding some peanut butter.

I drink 1 to 2 glasses of wine on the weekends and the OCCASIONAL liquor with a diet soda. I have had to cut back on going out with friends, but not too much. All things in moderation.

[/quote] You probably have what they call a protein bodytype, meaning you need less carbs but more protein to lose weight. I am the same and when I stick to that simple rule, providing I stay within my daily calorie allowance, the weight comes off. Some people are suited to more carbs and less protein. Good thread!…

NOw that you ask this question I realize I've never noticed what guys where at the gym. But please, no spandex.

Hi everyone. First of all, thanks for making this group. It's nice to have support, when you don't have it at home. I have no one to tell me not to buy those donuts. lol. I'm 24 years old, currently living in Las Vegas, but moving to Texas in 4 weeks. I'm originally from Texas and can't wait to go back. After basic…

lol. Sadly we can't use ya'll in papers in Texas. I've been working this word out of my vocabulary, but it sneaks in every once in a while

I'm halfway through the 2nd book. It's interesting and annoying at the same time.

That's a great idea. I'm going to try 50 days of running OUTSIDE. The weather is getting beautiful out here in Las Vegas and I've been running on a treadmill. Time to go outside.

I do have a few canned items. I live alone so fresh food tends to go bad before I can eat it sometimes. I try to buy it when I need it or know I'll use it within the week. Canned foods can come in handy sometimes.

I don't track my macros. I'm the same as yourself. I take a glance at them at the end of the day, but not overly concerned if they are in the red. I'm steadily losing weight, and feel much healthier. I suppose it's just up to you.

I'm going to run a marathon one day, though I don't know that I need a new body to do that, just getting one along the way.
