  • I have generally found weightloss is more successful for me when cutting carbs back. Because I have a lot to lose am on a restrictive carb diet - but through this have discovered the Dukan galette - they are lovely and tasty, versatile, low carb, and because oat bran expands by about 25 times it keeps you full. Recipe if…
  • .... Long term. Am so impatient !
  • I'm getting up in the night to go to the loo - i remember first couple of nights going to loo at least four times - it could be the water loss you get moving to protein based diet. Am still going least once in the night - with me I expect it's my body getting used to drinking more fluid - as normally I was way down the…
  • I feel very impatient at mo - came in all guns blazing - but currently feeling down because a week seemssuch a long time to lose a 1lb or 2. I'll give myself a good talking to - and keep on track.
  • I'm a bit concerned about being hungry in the evening last two days. Have found self consuming all my calories when before I was not eating that many. Worried that weight-loss will stop if I start gorging and simply eating too much? Any thoughts?
  • Really helpful this - best check I put myself down correctly.
  • Thanks for all your replies - guess I will just have to mourn their passing with the rest of u. As pointed out least can reward myself with a new bra or two :-) - any excuse for new clothes. Was just extra worried that with only 7lbs gone out of 40odd - it's a bit disheartening - especially as belly not shrinking as fast!…
  • Anyone know if any uk supermarkets sell spaghetti squash?
  • A yo-sushi is due to open near me v v shortly .... Am chuffed to bits - love sushi
  • This thread has given me loads of brilliant ideas - love the idea of bolognaise stuffed peppers, and cauli mash - must remember to have a go at making that - mine never worked brilliant though - not sure if the cauli was too al dente? Wonder how make cauli rice - never would have thought of that.
  • The posts about Christmas have got me thinking - if all goes to plan I will hit third phase in January - so I have decided upon a strategy that I think will work for me. I am going to stick to Dukan Diet through to mid-December (the nearer to Christmas the better - but I am being realistic with myself here). As soon as I…
  • I'm glad I started clocking my calories as it was all too easy not to eat enough - I found myself dropping to 750-850 cals a day and common sense has told me that can't be good - so keeping a tab on them makes me feel better.
  • I find that eating fruit can make me starving shortly afterwards. Probably my make-up. Some lower sugar fruits generally not too bad like berries - but apples, oranges etc - stomach growling before I know it and I want a chocolate bar - so for me best avoided and eaten v much in moderation.
  • What no breakfast in bed...! Not on your nelly
  • I'm two weeks into the Dukan Diet and not finding it a problem at all. I borrowed the book from my local library and read it cover to cover so I understood the full principles. I love the fact that all the protein you eat is lean, add in any type of fish, low-fat diary, oat bran and veg and can't say it's a problem at all.…
  • Thanks for letting me know that - iceberg just happened to be in the fridge - was going to be a salad - but sort of evolved into finger food...
  • I read somewhere that 2tablespoons = 30g 15g each. So I was having 23g approx during cruise and have upped it to 30g ... Big difference here. I didn't have a tablespoon at home as don't cook but remember from school it's roughly 2 dessert spoons.
  • Am looking forward to losing my belly so that I can treat myself to a pair - being a plump apple at the mo does not look good in skinnies - in fact doesn't look good in much :-( Will get there though - can't even remember what my original natural shape is!
  • I'm quite a patient driver but always tend to find myself above the speed limit on open roads - and HATE it when traffic is merging to one lane your in the left lane obediently crawling along and then someone comes speeding along on the right to squeeze in - as Long as they don't nip in front of me am ok - I always find…
  • I always love Indian "sag" dishes (ie spinach)... Chicken sag, Sag aloo, Sag bhaji Just wish I could cook - then I would know what was in them - as fear restaurant versions not likely to be healthy...
  • You've lost 58lbs - that's an incredible amount. How long has that taken you? I've got 40+ lbs to lose. 50 if I go by the recommended Target Weights - but I just want to be a healthy weight - not super skinny. Am 16lbs heavier than when I first did Atkins - first time round I lost 8lbs in the two week induction phase - I…
  • My Daily treat is a cappuccino - just the perfect way to start the day - and thanks to the joys of Starbucks I can have a skinny tall cappuccino with sugar free hazelnut syrup - tastes so good would never know it's only got around 60cals - real sweet indulgence and the milk fills me up.
  • I would find it helpful to join in - currently doing Dukan - very early days so getting used to it. Did Atkins around 8 years ago - that was my first foray into low-carb and I learnt a lot about how my body reacts to most foods - never did understand before that how I could eat 3-4 slices toast and still not be satisfied -…
  • I always use a whole egg - but apparently you cam use just egg White if cholesterol worries. Dukan doesn't recommend more than 5 eggs a week but I average 7-10. Am used to having eggs everyday for breakie prior to Dukan though. I should think yoghurt will work fine. When making mixture do not let it stand - use straight…
  • So many of them gel with me too - especially the trying on five different outfits before I leave the house - just trying over and over again to find something half acceptable that I feel reasonably good in. Back all being fat and lumpy is another one... Another thought - I am so looking forward to little ole me at 5'3.5…
  • most anything when im on a roll pringles - have to try and consume the whole tub - even when mouth starting to get really gummed up - i generally take a break but then have to start eating them again - as they atart "calling me".... could prob mention loads more - but I am being good at the mo - so dont want too think too…

  • when i was on atkins - after initial phase I used to love creme fraiche and raspberries - i added bit sweetner as had (and still have) major sweet tooth no such luxury on dukan - as even if chose half-fat creme fraiche still cant have the raspberries (or strawberries if preferred) other treat was melon and parma ham either…
