Hi there, I started 5:2 two weeks ago - am on my 5th "fast" today. I choose to spread my 500 cals out over the course of the day - got around 250 left so waiting for tea time to get here..... not long now :-)

12 months later - and its still a good one :-)

how did anyone get on with this? it has recently been recommended to me by someone who has lost 12lb - and advocates it for all its additional health benefits?....any thoughts out there?

I don't know about hgc - but I do consider myself a low carber - currently following Dukan (low fat/low carb) - did Atkins years ago with great success - but never been able to stick to it again - am having success with Dukan - feelfree to add me as friend.

I've been taking gabapentin for nearly two years now - for back pain that refuses to diminish so presume is now categorised as chronic - over this time I have put on around 2 stone - does the medication actually make you put on weight? Also now taking anti-depressants as everything just got too much - been on them now…

I'm an apple too - and despair at the shape I'm in - huge belly from just under my boobs downwards :-( Am finally doing something about it though - as at least by losing the extra pounds that need to come off I won't look many months pregnant... And with peeps like gok wan about hopefully I will be much better at dressing…

I too weigh myself every day - for me if it's up a bit then its helps motivate me to drink more water, or check if TOTM is approaching - or like today up 0.8lbs from yesterday but I didn't go to the loo yesterday :-( so gives me boost to ensure I get more fibre rich foods into my diet today ... On days there is a drop - I…

You guys seem to have so many more flavours than those we can get in the uk - it's probably a very good thing they aren't here - even more temptation .....

If your on a budget homemade soups are a good alternative to sandwiches. Very quick and easy to make - if no microwave available at work only outlay would be a soup flask?

That does sound strict. Hope you find some help/ideas on this thread.

Another fave of mine is to settle down with my tea - only to watch "supersize vs superskinny".. Doh...

Ah "Ben & Jerry" my two fave fellas ;-) I love cramel chew chew - but then I have an incredibly sweet tooth. Cherry Garcia is lush too.

I'm 5 3.5 or thereabouts - goal weight is 126lbs - but a half-way point of 140lb would be fab (my previous "really must lose a few Lbs now" weight. Got up to 167lbs - 4 weeks of dieting am down to 158lb. Still a long way to go.

I have got a chronic bad back - best thing for me has been to join Pilates - you need to effectively use your stomach / ab muscles to protect your back - cant recommend it highly enough.
-
I'm in on a Facebook page - as others have said don't want to discuss my weight can't imagine anything worse on fb!

This recipe sounds lovely - yum yum

Everytime I see a new low weigh on the scale I log it - even if it's only 0.1lb lower ;-)

I'm 44, weigh 159lbs, generally eat around 1150 a day - I do very little exercise due to back issues so generally only burning off around 150-250 cals 3-4 times a week. My weightloss is very slow 4 weeks in now, after a very good kick start of losing 6lbs in the first 2 weeks - so not sure if body just catching up - or if…

From memory I think that's the only change. Other than upping your walking (20mins day in Attack, 30 in cruise) - but your doing way over the recommended minimum exercise anyway.
-
My eyes - I have lOvely large dark brown eyes... Shame they are now in a pudgy face lol
-
I would start cruise but start with a pp day - making Tuesday a pv?
-
I would join - but nowhere near enough comp literate to do such a thing myself - wldnt know where to start

Ive never seen one in any of the supermarkets I frequent either - if I ever find one am def gonna buy to try it.

There are quite a few of us on here that follow the diet - I am finding it easy to stick to and the weight is coming off - but you must read the book to ensure you do it properly - i borrowed it from the library to save buying it.

This has to be one of my biggest pet hates of being overweight... Thighs rubbing together :-( I bought some control knickers that go half way down my thighs for wearing with dresses / skirts during summer weather - roll on cooler weather so I can wear tights again !!

Thanks for this thread as I wasn't quite sure myself. I try and count all my fluids over the day so it's a bit of a guesstimate - but so far max I get to is 6.... Usually 5.... Getting there I think though. Certainly now get thirsty more frequently which I never used to when on 2 maybe 3 glasses a day for years!! Good sign…

I eat 1-4 whole eggs a day, prob average 15-18 over a week. Eggs so nutritious, filling and versatile. Never had my cholesterol tested - but having an mot style assessment in next few weeks so will find out!
-
As most naked - as soon as wake up - after morning pee. Weekend weigh-ins my face as up two hours later ;-) lol

30lbs is a very good weightloss to date - it must be disappointing not to be dropping the clothes sizes - but hopefully they fit much better - and with waistbands loosening am sure you will be down a size soon.
