Where can I get spagetti squah - UK?

Hi all

I really want to try spagetti squash as a low cal alternative to pasta on those days when you don't have many cals left! Does anyone know where it can be bought in the UK? I haven't been able to find it in my Sainsbury's :( I live in SE London so if there are any specialist shops in London that sell them I can get there!

    If you can't buy it, I gotta figure out how to make it! My daughter wants to try it because she loves squash.

    I've been looking all over and have had no luck :( i'm talking waitrose, health shops, farms, macrobiotic shops...everywhere! I'm desperate to find it! I'm going to a place in london called Vitao this weekend (go there if you ever get the chance, its on wardour street, it's AMAZiNG) and i'm going to ask if they have any idea where i might find one!

    I think waitrose sells it when in season.

    I have about 8 of them in my house- my Mum grew them for me :o) But then again she has a massive allotment

    I bought an OXO Julienne Peeler to make veggie pasta with, works fine with squash, courgettes, sweet potatoes, carrots etc.

    If in doubt, make your own!

    I was just about to post the same thing as marshallexi. If you boil it in a very weak stock (to avoid having too much salt) it tastes scrummy - although I didn't buy any special peeler, I just use our vegetable peeler. Mmmm!

    What is the difference from say a butternut squash? Is it stringier?

    Ive never seen one in any of the supermarkets I frequent either - if I ever find one am def gonna buy to try it.

    Yup. When cooked, the inside actually looks like pasta! You can just scoop it out and use it as a spaghetti alternative.
    I'm in Belgium and it's the same as in the UK, we don't find spaghetti squash easily. I was lucky to find some at a farmer's market years ago so I could actually try it.

    As someone else said, making your own squahs pasta witha veggie peeler is a good idea too!

    yippee, I got my Juilenne cutter, shame though as not yet come across a spagetti squash in the shops, so will use my cutter for courgettes and carrtos as a replacement to pasta.

    I just saw this post because I love spaghetti squash and use it a lot. I am in the US and now really appreciate the fact that spaghetti squash is in the market everyday all year long and honestly, not one of the most popular foods here. Lots of people don't even use it. I love it though!! I don't know about space but it can be grown. Squash grows easily and can trail off of a LARGE growing pot.
