Do not beat yourself up because you had a bad day, weekend or even week!! We're all human, we all mess up!! The best thing is to refocus on your health and try to eat better and keep moving. You are not defined by what you eat!!

If you are new to exercise or new to a particular type of exercise, your body may be holding onto water. Someone on here can explain it better than I can. Also, are you eating enough calories? That's also an important consideration since your body needs a certain quota to function. Keep exercising, dont give up!

5-6 - I'm doing P90x3 and C25K. I haven't been losing much weight until I started doing the C25k. I've dropped almost 5 lbs in 4 weeks when before I was plateaued.

Weight can fluctuate a lot in a week plus the added water weight we women gain each month. I think I heard if you strength train, you do gain a little weight at first as its your body's side effect of repairing the muscle tissue that allows you to get strong. I really woudn't worry about a pound or two here and there.…

I forgot to add - once I am done with my workout, I usually close the day around a 200 calorie deficit.

When I first tried it, I was at my heaviest. I dropped 15 lbs on Zumba. Now I am trying to be more consistent. I am rotating my Zumba DVDs with my Biggest Loser Cardio Max dvd (burn more calories with Zumba but I'm sore doing the Biggest Loser and know I have muscles working that I wasn't using in Zumba). If you look thru previous posts, you'll find lots of info but in short, yes, you are supposed to eat back the calories you burn so you don't go too low for your body's needs. You should never go below 1200 calories per day. So basically, if you ate 1200 calories and then went and swam 500 calories off, you are to re-eat…

As often as I can or as time allows, I will try to walk our dog up and down our gigantic hills where I live for a half hour. I also try to do Zumba Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wenday and Saturday. My husband and I work opposite shifts and see each other after I'm done with work on Thursday and Friday so I usually don't get my…

Lots of fruit, almond butter, greek yogurt and maybe a cooking class to teach me what I can make for lunch that doesn't have bread and isn't prepackaged and microwaved.

What about standing pushups? You know, if you are standing facing a wall and do push ups against it? I can't do regular push ups either because I dislocated my shoulder a little over a year ago and my ortho told me not to do yoga, bridge, planks, etc so I do that instead. Its not as hard but at least its something.

Brand new to MFP becuase I've seen so many people on forums with their tickers tracking how much weight they are losing and I want that! So here I am. Long term, I'd like to lose 50 lbs but I would love to be down 15 lbs by May when my friends come up to visit.
