Wouldn't all the iodine in the kelp boost your thyroid infection? My endo specifically told me to stay off everything loaded with iodine.

I wish it was that easy for me. I've got Hashimoto's as well and am on medication, but have to fight every pound. It is a slow journey, but it is definitely possible! Good luck!

Hey everybody, Glad to see others are struggeling with those last stubborn pounds, too :) I'm Isabelle, 26 and my stats are: 5'6'' SW: 200 lbs CW: 143 lbs GW: 132 lbs I've been diagnosed hypothyroidism and weight loss is just happening very very slowly for me. I'm trying to limit my carbs and eat about 1600 a day. Feel…

Thanks, girls. I'm going to try your tips and see where they lead me. So glad to have you around!

Thanks for cheering me up a bit. :) Yes, I love excercising and I only do the kind of excercise I really love and yes, it feels a lot better to carry around 50 lbs less. But somehow this winter leaves me so depressed that I'm barely satisfied with myself. I feel lazy and bloated and like the weight will never come off. And…

Awesome story! It's really great that you have such an awesome support system :) I'm currently trying to fight my winterly cravings for sweets, but I'm not successful yet, so sadly no useful advice from me..

I'd love the idea of a challenge, but I'm losing so slow that I would continuosly be last.. :( Perhaps I'll join anyways, just to get motivated by you guys!

bump for later. I really need to speed up, too :)

Have you taken before pictures or measurements? Sometimes we don't see the difference, because we see our body every day, but taking measurements or pictures perhaps once a month will show you what progress you made.
-
- people who barely eat anything and then burn all of it (or even more) off again - people who don't give any kind of support
-
oh, yes, I forgot about the hand weights, you're right! But if you don't have some you can use water bottles. Most people can't bear more than 3 lbs when starting 30DS anyway
-
I've lost over 30 lbs now and nobody, who doesn't know I'm trying to lose weight has noticed it yet, which is kind of depressing. I still hope a difference will be visible some day

Does oyur ipod have gps? If not it won't work well. For some of the features of this app you have to run faster than 3.5 miles/hour and the app checks that via gps. But you're right, it is quite funny and the story is thrilling. Sadly it is "just" like an audio book and has not much to do with you actually running, you're…

Would be too less for me :) I'm currently 72 kg and usually burn at least 5000 kcal a week, so if you're starting a 70 kcal/kg challenge or higher, I might be in. But all the best!

Try to log it as circuit training or get yourself an HRM and create an own excercise
-
I tried it and I really like it. Mainly it is just like an audio book and hasn't got much to do with your running, but you can also add interval training and can be followed around by zombies. It is supposed to work while walking or running, the zombies following you only work if oyu are faster than 3.5 miles/hour. I can't…

1) nothing, except a yoga mat, if you want to workout on hard floors 2) not more than a meter or two 3) idk 4) yes, every level is the same each day. You do level 1 for 10 days, then move on to the next. 5) it is 20 min plus warm up and cool down, so you will be doing it 27 min roughly 6) I would log it as circuit…

This! Taking just one day in account doesn't seem to work for many of us
-
Yeah, perhaps it is because of my thyroidism...
-
yeah, it's just so demotivation if it says you're going to lose this or that and you're actually stuck somewhere :(
-
Weight fluctuates up to 5lbs a day! It could be various reasons, hormons, salt, not having enough water... Just try to switch to a healthy lifestyle, have a lot of protein when you want to built up muscles nad stick to it. It takes up to weeks for your body to truly show changes in diet, so be patient.
-
Have some high caloric healthy food, e.g nuts. A handfull of them should be almost able to do the trick :)
-
How much protein do you eat? I noticed that I'm nearly never hungry since upping my proteins. It makes this whole thing a lot easier, if you aren't hungry as hell every two or three hours, but perhaps that's only for me, idk

Hey, I' having Hashimoto's, too. It is super important that you take your meds! Without being leveled you will really have problems losing anything at all. Have in mind that even when on the right medication it will take you longer than other people to lose weight. If you lose 1 lbs/week: Awesome! I usually lose less than…
-
OMG! That will take a lot more courage :) But, hey, why not one day when I reached my goals! And thanks everybody :)
-
Thanks. I just found that "before" pic and finally see for the first time that I really lost some weight. :)
-
Great job! You look like a totally different person! You can be so proud of yourself :)
-
But what if you don't know what is reasonable, because you were never lean? For some of the people here it is easy to say: " I just want to fit into old clothes again" or "I want to wear size xx again", but what if you were always overweight? I really got no clue what is normal or what is not, what is realistic and what is…

Thanks for that post! It's really inspiring to see that you can reach your goals even if you have hypothyroidism! I was diagnosed Hashimoto in early 2012 and am really struggeling to lose all that extra weight. Great job!
