Today's main meals are pre-logged. Lots of room available for serving-size adjustments, still-unchosen afternoon and evening snacks etc.

Tuesday Nov 24 Gratitude List * Rachel Lawrance ("The Girl with the Pilates mat" Youtube channel out of UK) - she has a 7 minute stretching&balance routine ..... (and lots of other pre-recorded classes of varying lengths and intensity levels) * The developers of the "Cross-stitch world" (pseudo-cross-stitch embroidery app…

Despite feeling a weeeeee bit of a "wimp-level" compared to some of these other goals posted above ... I am starting today to incorporate a change in my morning "pre commute-up-the-stairs routine" so will add it here. Daily Goal (for now - once settled, will expand) Do 7-minute "Girl with the Pilates mat" (Rachel Lawrance)…

ok up front Nov Pass days used so far: no idea, but more than 5 ............ :s * Pre-logged today; * got in an excellent walk to the nearby grocery store and back .... in the SNOW (it snowed all of Sunday late afternoon and evening - maybe 3 inches of wet heart-attack snow stuck around but a different part of town got…

Another version would be what i do for "pacing based" intentional activity (like my exergame ) to avoid having mfp double-count against my synced fit-bit credit. (even if I walked up and down a mountain all day, the fitbit does NOT report "fitbit exercise credits" to MFP until it registers at least ~100 calories "burned…

This link leads to a looooong-running info-thread (started in Oct 2017) about "how to burn calories when you aren't paying attention" or what I personally call "the ninja sneak-attack approach" https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10610953/neat-improvement-strategies-to-improve-weight-loss/p1 the opening entry…

Monday Nov 23 Gratitude List 1. I don't have to commute-by-car (or public transit) to work through the winter. There as significant 7-hour snow-fall starting mid-yesterday afternoon, with ice pellets on top though the night .... funny how people tend to forget how to "drive to conditions" for the first snow-fall or two…

If you google "situational depression covid" you will find plenty of recognition from medical sites around the world about how the cronic-to-date cumulative impact of all the various pandemic situation stressors plus the reality of "social distancing being a major best defense" clashing with "humans are a social animal" .…

just thought I would mention that we already have some new members on the December UAC "What's On Your Mind" and "Introduction" pages. You might want to go say "Hello" ....

@intrinsicat may i just say .... WOW!!! WHAT a shot!
-
Welcome to you all.
-
And may I say ... "good on-ya" BOTH for starting practicing in advance of the start of the month!

Routinely having too large a deficit can also be counter-productive in the the long term. Renewing UAC member here. There are differing approaches, and your choice might also vary depending on the type / level of nutrition needed to support the body for your chosen exercise plan or sport. Also, some activities burn…

Gratitude list: 1. I picked up some spiced eggnog flavoured coffee beans from my neighbourhood bulk food store yesterday. They only stock this for a short while once a year. I have a grinder at home, so only need to grind a small portion every day or three. 2. the home bread-maker i got at a garage sale some years ago. We…

The info has been posted and is all wonderfully as a starting point for me - thank you to all who contributed on this! I am revelling in the aroma of just-finished freshly baked bread - and the knowledge that the first batch of "only available seasonally" pumpkin spice and spiced eggnog flavoured coffee beans are waiting…

thank you everyone! I am no longer "already feeling like an agitated wet hen" before the day even starts, as I wait in bed for it to be late enough to "get up well in advance of the alarm" Now that I am out of that "funk-state" headspace and more into a "neutral" headspace, I just have to find the rest of my way back to…

excellent referenced article @RangerRickL I am exploring this and other resources , including the concept of dealing with "situational depression" as one possible variant of my current "funk" (as opposed to either seasonal affect disorder or clinical depression - all are equally real and valid, but have different roots and…

thank you. any idea to help me even wrap my head around the concepts would be a start (i have NOT "practiced meditation all my adult life" so don't even have a sense of a stationary variant to adapt to walking .... although I am pretty sure the "meditate via movement" is likely to be more my personality style-fit. I can…

you have mentioned "walking meditations" before from time to time ... can you explain more fully? (or point to getting started youtubes or readings or something?)
-
thank you both!

I am still around - reading and lurking more that daily reporting .... so don't feel I should be a "champion" this time round. I AM cheered by Dory's daily adventures - ("HOW did the little penguin get out?? / Glad I went to the goodby party after all, 'cause I found our missing non-venomous snake ... ") and also how well…

We might be moving towards a second-wave lockdown here too (not official yet) but at least this time DH and I already have our little chest-freezer that we are starting to fully-stock bit by bit now .... we never really expanded our activities much even when things opened up more (and my job won't stop being "work…

I need to do some serious exploring about home based apps or youtube based alternates to my exergame (which I still love, but past time I broadened my spectrum to something beyond "brisk walking in front of tv" ) I DO have a stationary bike in the basement. And a big Swiss Stability Ball and some resistance bands and…

I too like @MaltedTea 's "eat the frog" attitude. That is what turns "haveta" into "routine feels off if I don't" I am getting back into playing "Go for the Green" every morning. This is a similar idea, but in the realm of getting food pre-logged for most of the day. Then refine as I go along.

What did you buy a subscription to? (I also own a stationary bike)
