  • I don't eat dairy, but I eat lots of leafy greens to help with my calcium. I also drink almond milk-- that is fortified with calcium.
  • It is great-- makes me hate Jackie Warner at the end of it, but I really enjoyed doing it (after I got done picking myself up off the floor). I'm spending time at the gym now, so not really doing any DVDs, but I would definitely go back to this.
  • I did a doctor supervised VLCD and have been fine-- I've maintained for a couple of months within 3 lbs of where I ended (for now) and have lost inches, but not weight (fine with that, more or less) since then. That said, I haven't gone back to eating like how I was previously. Big health issues prompted the massive diet…
  • 1 - salmon (Costco-- wild Alaskan) 2 - shrimp 3 - chicken Italian sausage (Isernio's) 4 - chicken Andouille sausage 5 - 96/4 ground beef 6 - 99/1 ground turkey 7 - spinach 8 - eggs 9 - pistachios 10 - dates 11 - cherries (in season - yay!) 12 - strawberries 13 - broccolette 14 - walnuts 15 - canteloupe
  • Chair massages were a hit-- periodically, they brought in a few people to do 15 minute chair massages for anyone who wanted them, and it was wonderful. Set up a sponsorship-- sponsor one race/event per person per year-- or sponsor a 5K and everyone from your company who runs in it. Provide up to $30 per month for people to…
  • My fiancé has gastroparesis and has a hard time digesting fat (it's usually easier in liquid form). I use lean cuts of meat, 96/4 ground beef (if his stomach decides not to reject beef) and 99% fat free ground turkey a lot. Shrimp, salmon, eggs and chicken sausage round it out. No idea what OP's situation is, but that's…
  • My ex bought it, so I've read it. It's fine-- you're probably going to be eating closer to your BMR this way, not to mention eliminating processed junk and that will probably be better for you. Isobel's guidance is sensible-- for some reason I'm still on the mailing lists-- and won't hurt you.
  • Migraines = Diet Coke + Excedrin (caffeine helps for some reason or other and coffee during a migraine makes me nauseated). So yeah, super fun past week for me too :P
  • I eat bacon, but I get the kind without nitrates, nitrites or other preservative type things.

  • I use an egg protein powder-- dried egg whites, dried whole eggs and stevia. Processed, but not as much.
  • Well... my fiancé is doing an elimination diet soon, to see what's worse for him. He drinks a lot of smoothies and eats mostly Paleo at the moment, since that seems to be improving things once they leave his stomach. What particularly are you looking for?
  • Healthy, not particularly. The taste is somewhat different from chocolate, but not bad. Just different.
  • And my doctor seems to think otherwise. To each his own, but you can get plenty of carbs while sticking to Paleo. Oh, and you are imposing your way of eating, JFYI.
  • Mix Dijon mustard with herbs de Provence (spice mix) and grill or broil. Cut in chunks and sauté with chicken sausage and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Cook broccoli, carrots, onions and bell peppers in a skillet until almost tender-- add chicken pieces, sauté until veggies are tender. Add soy sauce and sriracha to taste.
  • Calories can't tell time, but I don't really feel all that well if I eat a heavy meal before I go to sleep, so it's a fair comment from that sense.
  • I don't worry all that much. Never have and never will. I take reasonable precautions (cell phone and ID), but I don't see any reason why my fiancé needs to go with me or why I should worry-- I've lived in big cities, medium cities and now a small town. It seems silly to limit myself on what's probably not going to happen…
  • I keep pistachios and apples around for snacking. Breakfast is either an egg white/almond milk protein shake or if I'm proactive, a frittata that I reheat at work. My problem is that I'm not hungry at lunch time, but I feel obligated to go with coworkers from a social perspective. I need to either adjust my eating schedule…
  • Frosty! And milkshakes! Seriously, I was so wiped out that I think I lost weight even with the milkshakes because I simply didn't care to eat.
  • Same, but different results (reasonable since I *am* a different person). My fiancé will be going through a full elimination diet here soon to see if that helps him out. You really do need to pay attention to some rather gross stuff, as opposed to how you feel immediately after though. Wheat doesn't cause me issues when…
  • Yeah... I really can't stand women who enjoy all that feminism has brought them but think feminism is the great big evil that allows women to be self-reliant and not need some guy around all the time. And then they ***** about how certain religions treat their women. Really, WTF?
  • I had an ice cream cone Sunday. Spent Sunday night and Monday regretting that decision. Definitely learning from the error of my ways.

  • Mix it into a smoothie?
  • Yep. Love this stuff.
  • Half your weight = 100 lbs. Drink that in ounces. Pretty sure that's much more reasonable.
  • When I cheat and feel miserable later. Yesterday's M&Ms made me feel like hell in the evening.
  • I got my calipers on Amazon. I care less about perfection and more about consistency-- as long as the number is going down, I'm happy :)
  • I'm here... just swamped with, well, wedding stuff (and work and the rest of my life). I'm not really down any weight, but I am down some serious inches-- like had to bring my dress in significantly inches. 4" off each side of the bodice :) :) :) Still working out, and eating better (except for the M&Ms today).
  • My fiancé has GI issues and weighs 139 at 6' 1". I will likely always weigh more than him. Just get over it, especially if it's muscle and not fat. I'd love to be 25% BF, even if I weighed the same as I do now.
  • 1 lb. And it's the same lb that I keep losing and gaining back and forth. But I feel less godawful, so I'm good with that. I have lost 1/2" off my bust, no movement anywhere else.
  • What about a bicycle? 3-4 miles is pretty easily done on a bike and you'd get your exercise in. I had the same difficulty a long time ago and had to put in a lot of ridiculous effort to get a job without a car.
