I weigh myself daily, and the number bounces around. That's just how it works. There are all kinds of reasons it may have happened: water weight, hormones, too much sodium (and thus the water), other things moving along more slowly this morning.... Take it in stride. (Yes, the up days suck, and the down days are better.)…

This article is very interesting! The least effort formula calculates to almost twice the calories MFP gives under strength training in the cardio section! I wonder how accurate it is.

Yes, I agree! Nice tribute, Tommy!

I've only been running since early Dec., but today I ran 5 K in 24 minutes! That's a 7 min. 11 sec. mile! And the best part is that I feel AWESOME! You know, just a year ago, my hubby had to practically throw me out of the house twice a week to go to the gym (and I would make his life miserable for it,too) and now I'm 78…

Wow, you are busy! What types of exercises do the rest of you do with your running/walking/crawling?
-
Natalie, That's a lot of running! Nice job! My husband and I are planning to run a 10K this spring (I've just started running, really, in the last 2 months, so I'm a bit nervous about this!). What other training do you do other than running? I'm also do Pilates 3 times a week, cardio before the Pilates classes and strength…

Here are this week's stats: 01/06-01/12 cycling: 35.5 running: 5.9 walking: 0.9 total: 42.3 Of course, there was a lot more walking involved, but this was the only walking I "tracked." I used to have a pedometer, but it fell off one day, and I haven't replaced it (and most likely won't). Still, not bad for a week! (And I…

I went to Italy a few years ago on my own, and WOW! There were very few people who spoke any English at all. Definitely come prepared with a phrase book and possibly a dictionary.
-
Omg! These recipes sound soooo good! Now I'm craving chocolate...
-
Those almond buns look soooooo good! But at almost 400 cals per bun (including top and bottom)? That's more than an entire meal for me! Wow!
-
Yes, MFP takes weight into account. I guess it assumes that the less you weigh, the less it takes to accomplish a "task."
-
Sorry for the slow start, but I've been moving this week! Here are my weekly stats according to Walk Across America: 12/30-01/05 cycling: 25.0 running: 5.7 walking: 4.1 total: 34.8

You are definitely NOT obese. Maybe something was entered wrong? Maybe you need to work on building muscle to replace fat? Whatever it is, judging by your photos, you are not obese.

My gym was closed today, but my hubby and I were out running within 20 minutes of getting out of bed! And the best part? It was raining. The entire way (except for the first 2 minutes, of course -- just enough time to get away from the house). But it was still fun, and I loved starting out the year with a run.

"Pick up something heavy for a bit. If you can do it a whole bunch, with energy to spare, add some weight. Repeat as necessary." Yes! This I can understand! :-) Thank you everyone. This really helps quite a bit. Really!
-
Thank you so much! That really helps. So if I do the bike most of the time, I should also toss in a different cardio (in place of the bike) once a week. And the weights should be increased, but the repetitions per set and the number of sets should stay the same. Good to know
-
Anyone?
-
My gym is also closed on the first, but you can bet I'll be there on the second! (Probably run or try to follow a youtube workout on the first, though)
-
You've done a great job! Very inspirational, let me tell you!

This does look like fun! Count me in.
