I had been vaguely dieting on and off for a while, then winter 2014 I went totally off the rails and put on about a stone. I knew I wanted to lose weight but hadn't fully committed, was being a bit wishy washy... Then I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror from behind, naked and thought 'holy back fat, Batman!' For…

I've just finished Week 8, I look back at Week 1 when I could barely run for 60 seconds and I'm astounded that I'm running 28 minutes at a time now! Definitely take it slow and stick to the rest days. You'll love it.

Sending good thoughts, I hope he comes back soon! A woman I know had her cat disappear for like, two months and it came back in the end. Cats are naturally cautious and can look after themselves, I'm sure he'll be back when he gets hungry.

Ran and walked 5k in 43 minutes today, and towards the end I really found my stride with a faster speed.

There was a programme on the Beeb (I think) where they did this experiment with Army cadets or something, I think they took ultrasounds of their stomachs (or similar, watched it quite a while ago) and observed that the soup stayed in the stomach longer than the individual ingredients plus water. It was quite interesting…

My pasta portions were waaaay off base! My standard student meal of pasta with some sauce must have easily been 1200 calories on its own, 2000 if I was using pesto (yes, I used to use the whole jar). I was pleasantly surprised with cheese though - 25g gives me much more than I expected!

Yeah, look into Intermittent Fasting (this group might be helpful for you: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/49-intermittent-fasting) as it seems to be a familiar way of eating for you. As long as you're sticking to your calorie goals, it doesn't matter when you have those calories. I get most of my calories from…

Today has been a bit all over the place foodwise, I was feeling a little jaded from a few drinks the night before (forgot to factor in how few calories I'm eating), not hungover just a bit off. Well, I ate a couple of hundred calories before and after working out because I felt a bit wobbly, then dinner ended up being…

My OH gets around 1900 a day and I get 1390. We like to eat big dinners together, so he'll have his lunch at work and then have a large dinner that I'll make at home. I'll make sure I get in enough steps to be set to Lightly Active, and only eat dinner (with an afternoon snack if I've been working out). I'm lucky that I'm…

Sounds like he wants to be your 'friend' when it suits him, ie when he wants to get laid. Keep 'seeing' him if you want (nothing wrong with casual boning!) but don't expect him to actually be your friend.

@Lipka1le good luck with starting c25k, you'll love it! My biggest piece of advice would be to take it slow and steady - you can always focus on increasing speed once you have the endurance down. @blambo61 eight minutes continuous is great! Thank you :) The weekend went fairly well, lots of sodium though. Friday night was…

I understand worrying about a partner's health - before my other half started losing weight I was getting worried about the health problems I know come with carrying lots of fat around your waist - but it has to be their own decision or they could start to resent you and feel that you don't love them how they are. I think…

OP, if you're still reading, like many people have said I totally understand wanting the weight gone as soon as possible, but you've got to buckle up for the ride. Time will pass no matter what, so spend that time making good choices, taking care of your body, and learning how to eat reasonable portions. If you spend the…

What great news! Enjoy your dinner, it sounds lovely. (I had to look up what Falu Korv was, looks yummy)

Well done!

Thanks for the kind words Kitty :) I started off struggling to jog for 60 seconds just 8 weeks ago so to be able to jog for 25 minutes now feels great! I struggled to finish dinner last night but knew I was doing C25K today and wanted to be adequately fuelled during the day so I finished my plate of spag bol and cheesy…

Welcome, Sean!

Just finished Week 7, can't wait to start Week 8!

People can have skewed perceptions based on what's normal to them. On one side of my family, everyone is overweight and when I happened to drop a few lbs when I was younger I'd get told off for being too skinny, but a couple of days later when I'd see the other side of the family who are naturally slim, I'd get praised for…

Nice one Craig!

Yay Kitty, well done! That's fab!

Ribs and chips last night, oven pizza the night before. Tonight we're having spaghetti bolognese with cheesy garlic bread slices, so the bolognese is simmering away in the slow cooker for a good 6-7 hours. C25K W7D2 yesterday, it was a lot easier than W6D3 and W7D1 - I can't believe I've jogged for 25 minutes straight…
-
I have jogged for 25 minutes non-stop three times now!

You should be weighing the raw ingredients :)

I'm currently replacing my afternoon snack with high protein yoghurts and shakes which are around the same calorie amount as my normal snack, because I find that protein keeps me fuller for longer than carbs and thus helps me control my calorie intake. Obviously being in a calorie deficit is the most important thing for…

Sorry for your loss :( Well done for getting back on the horse so soon, you're amazing!

Saaaame! Haha. Yeah my partner hangs on to a lot more water weight after a sodium heavy meal than I do because I drink more water, and my skin is better, but over all I don't think it effects my weight loss. I usually get about 4/5 UK pints.
-
Ooooh yummy! Looks gorgeous. Enjoy your new sofa, fingers crossed for 109 but whatever happens you're doing an amazing job x

Running/jogging has definitely strengthened my core over the last couple of months, obviously you can't spot reduce fat but as my fat gradually comes off due to calorie deficit, my tummy area is definitely feeling firmer than it has in the past at the same weight when I wasn't running.
