This is exactly how I am, that's why counting calories works well for me. It doesn't make anything "off limits" so to speak, it just forces you to balance your calories accordingly. I hate trying to make it to the gym to workout. Once I'm there I love everything about it. One thing I am having trouble with is learning how to use all of the machines on my own...I feel like such an idiot.
