  • HAHAHA I've seen a lot of good points on both sides of this argument in the short time I've been here. I play it safe and eat some of mine and have lost inches.
  • I do! although I haven't been on there in ages so probably wouldn't be worth adding me haha. Having to use husband's computer while my laptop is getting fixed so I can't be on here to have fun when he's home. Actually, it's funny, I've been getting more housework done now that I haven't been taking time to pogo hehe.
  • welcome! you'll find a lot of support here, not to mention great tools to help you succeed. good luck!
  • OK sent in my start weight. And I could use the water challenge too, I always fall short. I don't include my coffee, milk, etc., just my water, so maybe that's why. But for the challenge, I'm going to get the water in if it kills me haha. j/k I just went grocery shopping, this morning. I have an idea for a challenge for…
  • thanks for this... I skimmed it now and will be back later to read more carefully
  • I thought maybe you did a typo, so tried it myself and got quite a difference on my result as well. Estimate #1 based on height and weight Your "Ponderal Index" is 11.94 which gives an estimated body fat of 34.8% (73.2 pounds of fat) Estimate #2 based on waist size and weight Estimated body fat of 18.1% (37.9 pounds of…
  • Wow, some really good info! Definitely worth asking my dr. about then.
  • I'm sorry you had a stressful day. I've sure had my fair share of stress lately too. Instead of heading for the fridge, maybe run a nice hot bath? or go for a walk? It really works for me to just remove myself from the situation for a bit then come back to it with a clear head.
  • my goal is 165 it said people's choice is 170 and the medical recommendation is 136-179 boy, that's quite a range. I think my goal is pretty realistic

  • welcome! I'm an at home mom so no big ideas for you as far as brown bagging lunches, but some general ideas come to mind, like: whole wheat tuna sandwich hard boiled eggs veggie sticks (carrots, celery, etc) salad, just put dressing in a seperate container deli sliced meats and cheeses (if you don't want the carbs from…

  • Your calories consumed are calories you have eaten in the day. Your net calories is the difference between how many calories you are allowed to eat for the day (plus any exercise calories you earned that day) and how many you actually consumed. so you'll see your regular calories + exercise calories (because you burned…
  • Welcome and best of luck to you!
  • Welcome! I was shocked when I started here too. Good to have you with us.
  • I love sugar too, it's my weakness. Just hang in there and do your best every day. Make up your mind that you're going to control yourself and do it! I find distraction works pretty good. If I can hold out on my cravings for even a few minutes, it usually passes and I move on to something else.
  • Thanks for sharing. I'm going to look right now!

  • haha welcome! (and congrats on the 6 lbs!)
  • I'm going to have to try this recipe. Thanks for sharing. I think, if you were to reheat the eggs in the microwave, they would have less tendency to be soggy because microwaves tend to dry food out. Maybe try freezing one serving size next time you make it, then reheat, just to see if it works before ruining a whole batch?
  • I can't run for a lot of reasons, the biggest reason being that my heart rate gets higher than my target so I'm not doing any good to myself anyway. If your body can handle it and your heart rate stays on target, I would think alternating both would be good.
  • The biggest reason I love this site is because it does the counting for me. I never paid attention to how much was in everything until I saw it in black and white all totalled up for me. On days I can't get to the computer, I'm scared to type it in the next day cause I know I over eat.
  • I followed it strictly for quite some time and actually did pretty well on it and still use a lot of the principles (sp?) today. It's all about eating fresh and making everything from scratch... NO processed foods. It's very big on antioxidants and eating "good" fats from oils and olives and nuts. I have the book and it…
