Go exercise, walk, run, jog, dance anything. And talk, talk, talk. Noone knows how you are feeling or the thoughts running through your mind unless you open your mouth. There is nothing wrong with how you feel, but when you don't let it out you end up doing something else to deal with them, like emotional eating, taking it…

depending on how you set up your plan on mfp, mfp calculates the amount of calories for you, say you put that you want to lose 2lbs a week, then it will give you a deficit of 1000 calories or no more than 1200 calories total for the day, so then when you workout, it will give you those calories to eat so that your deficit…

I measure everything, sometimes annoying but mostly not. I have a ton of measuring cups and spoons, so I know exactly how much I am eating. I also serve meals on the smaller salad plates, we hardley ever use our huge dinner plates. I pretty much never go back for seconds. I serve our meals on the plates then we sit down.…

So that leaves 35lbs by Christmas? That's almost 3lbs a week. I would suggest 2lbs a week, about 26lbs total. Depending on how overweight or obese you are you may be able to do the whole 35, it's only 9lbs more. Good Luck! Demetria

I have been riding my bike for 60min for at least 6 days a week, I try and keep my average miles per hr to 12, I have some hills and flats. My first goal had been to lose 22lbs by Sep 4, I missed it by a week, not too bad, my new goal is lose 1-2lbs a week until christmas. I only need to lose 21lbs more so that I will not…

Try drinking a large glass of water then have something healthy that is sweet, orange, apple, etc, then if you still can't resist get yourself a small piece, go someplace quiet, by yourself and really enjoy every bite of it. You can't totally deprive yourself, it will just backfire and you will end up binging. Also think…

yay, it seems like you are finally seeing the effects of changing bad habits and how it gets easier to do the new habits, like drinking water instead of pop. hard work really does pay off! Congrats! Demetria

first let him know how much you appreciate his help! When you start off on a good note, they seem to be more open to suggestions. Really stress how his actions are making a difference in your life, then go with how you really want to be healthier, so that you can be together for many more years to come, and one way he can…

I never heard of her, which doesn't say too much about me since I have no clue about fashion, lol. But I love shopping at Kohls! I will look for her stuff next time I go. I didnt' even like going into places like forever21 when I was skinny, the sizes made me feel huge. So I don't even bother. That's okay since I am a 38yr…

You may have overdone it. Listen to your body, if you feel drained, then rest. Just start back again as soon as you feel better. If you haven't been working out regularly and then you start going at it everyday, your body is just not used to it and it is letting you know. If working out every single day is better for you,…

like barbiecat said, make sure your food is nutrient dense, not processed empty calories. Eat foods that are high in fiber, like veggies, fruits, whole grains with alot of water otherwise you could have some stomach issues until it gets used to all that fiber. Start slow, high fiber foods make you feel fuller longer.…

that would certainly put me in a bad mood for sure! That is not a good way to wake up so I can see how you would have a hard time getting up. Maybe if only one of those things happened you would have been okay but to have all of them at once is alot for anyone to handle much less to wake up to. Demetria

Again, it seems like writers are willing to just throw stuff out there without feeling any responsibility towards their readers. He basically goes over the time mag article, that we have all discussed in length already, then throws in a little bit more and this guy is an associate professor of biochemistry and public…

ditto! and knowing that most of it will be too high in fat and calories! Demetria

every child is different and there is a range of normal for developmental milestones. As long as everything else she is doing is normal, I wouldn't worry. If you are still concerned, make an appt with her pediatrician. Demetria

Going to the gym isn't your only option. I ride my bike every morning before that I walked around the neighborhood and I use exercise videos when the weather is bad out. As far as strength training goes, again, you have more options than just the gym. There are items in your house that you could use for weights and your…

What can you do to try and relieve your stress? Is there anyone you can vent to or ask for help? Deep breathing, relaxation techniques? Again, what other posters' suggested, milkshakes, protein shakes. hth, Demetria

Do not count the natural sugar from fruits, veggies or milk! The only sugar you should worry about is from added sugars like table sugar, corn syrup, sugar in processed foods and such. Otherwise you would be cutting out a ton of food that is good for you. Demetria

ditto, for me, i use decaf demetria

I have not heard of red teas (rooibos), so it is from another plant? Demetria

I looked at one of the articles - http://whatscookingamerica.net/Sugar.htm Just a word of advice, look at who is sponsoring the articles. The sugar one is not totally accurate. I would go to sparkpeople.com for info instead. They have tons of articles that are more accurate, in depth and have a lot of tools for beginners.…

Try getting up 30min earlier, to increase your time to 45min of working out. Like the other posters' said do something with the kids, dancing, take them to the park and chase them around, take them for a walk around the neighborhood, push one or two in the stroller and have the other one walk with you, switch out the kids…

I know how you feel. I barely call my mom because she goes on and on about other people, gets herself all worked up and there's nothing she can do about it. I learned a long time ago to not waste my precious energy on stuff or people I have no control over. Try some anti stress exercises whenever she starts working on your…

go back to the tea just use Truvia (from the stevia plant), it's a natural no calorie sweetener Demetria
-
The article didn't say not to drink water but that the 8 - 8oz cups a day rule was a very generalized rule not to be taken literally even though it has been. It said more to take an individualized approach based on where you live, your lifestyle and other factors. Basically listen to your own body and learn what works for…

Drinking fresh brewed green tea hot or iced is full of flavenoids, catechins & antioxidants, is helpful in losing weight. Bottled tea is not as effective. artificial sweeteners are not all that good for you, use natural sweeteners like Truvia, from the stevia plant, has no calories or real molasses, honey, but no refined…
