I wish I were like that! When I'm stressed I eat everything in site!

Try dry foods have helped me in the past. Try nuts, dried fruits. Also try drinking some of your calories in the form of juice, tea/coffee with milk.
Some summers all I could eat was cinnamon toast (bread butter cinnamon- it soothed my nausea). While that wasn't the healthiest choice It was important that I eat b/c I was hyperthyroid.
Also try to alleviate some of the stress, exercise, talk with friends, pray or mediate.
I hope peace will be yours soon:flowerforyou:0 -

Me too!!! I wanted some chocolate soooo bad yesterday.
I had given all my stash at work away, so it was GONE!
I've had a lot of stress lately too girl. :grumble: :noway:
Some of my reactions to situations may be hormonal.
Wishing you the best! ivykivy's ideas are great..... :flowerforyou::flowerforyou:
I have a hard time calming my mind sometimes so activity works for me.0 -
My sister and mother had this issue...when stress hits really hard, it can cause tightening at the top of the stomach and won't let solid food pass.
Don't force yourself to eat if you absolutely don't feel like it, as having it come back up will probably make you feel worse. Just know that life has it's peaks and valleys, it's ups and downs, and that what you are going through now will eventually pass.

I hope it passes cause i need my energy for my kids and it's hard to do so when i can't eat, sleep or think right... I always said when life throws lemons at you to catch them and throw them back but this time im having a hard time catching them...0

Could you try to make milkshakes or smoothies? I agree that sipping a caloric drink might be easier.0

I think drinking juices or smoothies may be a viable option - just drink a little at a time. Make sure you are taking a daily vitamin so your body is getting some sort of nutrients. If this continues you probably need to spill it with some close friends, pastor, family and you may even need to see a doctor and ask for some nutritional help.
Hang in there and make sure you are doing your best to take care of you. The little ones need you healthy so you can take care of them. At the same time make sure you are doing something that helps you relax. I love to read. That's what I do to relax. Find something you can do whether the kids are awake or asleep and devote a few minutes each day to helping yourself.
I have a lot of stress issues in my life too. I am blessed to be able to deal with them in a better way than I used to. I've put the same things I told you into practice in my own life. Prayer is a dear friend. God is always listening.
I hope that helps at least in some little way. Hang in there!!

I had a similar reaction a couple years ago. I ended up eating a lot of what they've already suggested. Milk, smoothies, shakes, icies, etc. It's really hard to be there for your kiddos when you're stressed out, add to that no energy because you're not eating, and it's a recipe for complete meltdown (from both the kids AND YOU!). You have to force SOMETHING down (I even resorted to Slimfast drinks because they are vitamin packed).
I hope the stressful situation resolves soon. I know it doesn't always help in the middle of it, but remember that He may not have led us to it, but He WILL lead us through it!
You're in my thoughts,

I know the feeling. My hubby is in Army boot camp at the moment, and for the first week he was gone, I couldn't eat. I'm barely making the 1200 calorie a day limit now. I just take it a little at a time. I love dearly cold peaches from a can. weird, but I love them. I eat a few every once in a while and it helps. I love Carnation instant breakfast. Mix it with some milk and drink away.
Hope everything gets better hun. xo0 -
What can you do to try and relieve your stress? Is there anyone you can vent to or ask for help? Deep breathing, relaxation techniques? Again, what other posters' suggested, milkshakes, protein shakes.

UGH lost 30lbs that way in 1 1/2 months - first week I couldn't eat at all - just drank water. every time I tried to eat I threw up.
my issues weren't passing anytine soon so I went on Anti -Depressants and that helped -
but I know the feeling it's awful.
I tried drinking shakes things high in cal's , when you don't eat properly your body starves and you loose muscle mass big time. It was gross.
Try to take care of you ............good luck :flowerforyou:0 -
I have tried holding down water and that's not working... Im hoping a long walk and some sleep tonight will help me clear my head im just taking one day at a time and hoping it will pass soon...0

I'd like to piggy back on this if I may, please. I'm having the same problem now - I'm wicked stressed out about a couple of heart procedures my dad is going to have next month. I can tell right now, this knot in my stomach is going to last until he's done and better. I don't assume anything is going to go wrong, but I am terribly worried, and there's nothing I can do to ease the concern. So, I am pretty sure I won't be able to eat much until I can either relax, or until after the procedures. The latter is most likely when that will happen.
So, with all that said, here is my predicament. I don't know if I should keep up my exercise during this time. I plan to get nutrition with meal shakes and daily vitamins, and to eat as much solid food as I can along with it. However, I'm pretty sure I won't be reaching my calorie goal each day.
So:
Is it better to continue exercise, so I don't lose the fitness I've gained?
Or, should I put exercise on hold until I can eat full meals again?
I'm thinking maybe I should continue to exercise, but do something less cardio-related. Like, I should do yoga and walking, or light bike riding for the same amount of time.
What does everyone think?0 -
It is always good to exercise but just exercise in proportion to your caloric intake.
Let's say you usually exercise for an hour? How about we just cut that in half to 20-30 minutes,
U have nothing to burn if you don't eat! Look at it that way, good luck to you!0 -
I am sorry that you have been stressed. I am the complete opposite. When I get stressed all I want to do is eat. Which is basically what I have been doing the last couple of weeks. :frown: Today is my fresh start. I would agree with others on the sipping something or trying to eat dry foods.0
