uhm, I have no idea what you are talking about. What do you mean by "net" calories? Trying to lose weight is not an exact science. Everyone has different metabolisms. Demetria

Do you like to read? Lower body exercises might be possible but talk to your doc first. Can you walk around the house? Just try to keep busy as well as you can and when you r sleepy just sleep, your body is working hard to heal your fracture. Demetria

I would think so. Your body needs fat to burn for fuel, absorb some minerals and vitamins, and basically to function. The big kicker is eating the right type of fat! Saturated fat such as from animals, trans fatty acids, hydrogenated oils & fats are definitely not the ones you want to be consuming. Your body really needs…

The nutritional values are the same for any type of cow's milk, the only difference is the amount of fat unless the manufacturer has added other stuff. As regards to hunger satisfaction control, that has to do with the more fat there is in the milk, which will help you with staving off hunger but the fat in cow's milk is…

blackstrap molasses or honey or sugar in the raw, yeah that have some calories but they are minimally processed and actually have some additional nutrients like antioxidants, minerals. Demetria

So according to the realwomensfitness.com article the normal range is between 70 to 80 bpm. Are you laying down when you take your pulse to get your resting heart rate or standing/sitting up. I think that can make a difference. I would try to take your pulse in the morning before you get out of bed like the article…

and being 5' 6" you should be closer to around 130lbs so trying to get down to 108lbs is totally unrealistic, unhealthy. Please do the research and find a healthier way to lose the weight. Demetria

Yeah, it's not good at all to only take in 100 calories a day. :frown: Please read the first two links and the third link is a thread that has more links to other very good threads for you to check out. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/777-why-is-starvation-mode-so-bad…

Some people just have that stubborn streak, no worries, you finally succumbed, LOL. And hindsight is 20/20 as long as you are on the right path now, is all that matters! So keep it up! Demetria

Welcome! Don't let that huge number ovewhelm you. A better way to think of it is to make short mini goals say 2lbs a week, walk for at least 30min everyday, etc. You can do it, it just takes time. Demetria

Different manufacturers have different sizing. I can wear a medium in Champion C9 workout wear from Target but I have to get a large in Danskin workout wear from Walmart. I think they also increased their sizes for the general public's overall increase in size, too. How long ago did you wear size 16 and weigh 155lbs? So…

Exactly what I was thinking, talk about killing my appetite! LOL My hubby loves Chik fi La fries with ketchup & mayo, yuck. I have to admit to having a liking for ketchup on scrambled eggs:embarassed: I think you can put cottage cheese with anything so those combos don't seem to weird to me. Demetria

Your probably right about that! Got a pet? lol. What tea has vitamin K? Working out sounds like a great idea and soup is also very filling. Demetria

Exactly, it's not about quick fixes or fads, it's about a change in lifestyle. That's why most people gain the weight back, they go back to their old habits so the weight comes back. A lifestyle change is a more permanent and slow way to lose the weight. Demetria

I think it works differently for extremely obese people and that show does seem a bit fanatical. Demetria
-
Wow, that is awesome!!! You go girl!!!! Demetria
-
Wow, I surely hope she didn't mean that much in a 24hr period but maybe it's because they are so obese. Good question, Bamboo. I would like to know for sure, too. Demetria

WELCOME! I think making sure to eat a good breakfast, lunch & dinner really helps with binging at night. You may be overeating at night because you haven't eaten enough calories or too many empty calories (food that has little nutritional value) that your body really needs to survive. Listen to your body. GOOD LUCK!…

Ditto and there is more to carbs than just sugar. Just make sure you are getting complex carbs, they have more nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and fiber which are good for you. If you don't get enough carbs for your particular needs you could start metabolising/burning muscle to some extent. As long as your not going…

Just when you think you are doing your best to eat healthy, reading every single food label and such, then you find this out, that just plain sucks! Now how am I supposed to have any confidence in what a food label says? I try to eat whole unprocessed foods but I still have a family to think of, only so much money, time &…

Negative: I woke up late due to my son not sleeping well due to allergies so I did not sleep well either Positive: I still rode my bike after I got him on the school bus (usually do it before when I wake up on time) Demetria

welcome back! Demetria

You can do it! even just 2lbs is great. Demetria

I agree with SHBoss1673, sleep is more important than pickup up the house. You can actually make yourself physically older if you chronically go without enough sleep. Ask your hubby to do some of the house chores, both of you work and take care of the kids so you can also share in the housecleaning duties. Sometimes you…

I would cut down on the stevia and you could make the tea weaker. http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=50742 rooibos tea: has a low tannin content (only1-4%), which means that it doesn't inhibit the absorption of iron (something that black tea does) contains no caffeine…

I would just measure it to be sure Demetria

You can get healthy generic cereal, too. Shredded wheat, raisin bran are 2 good ones that I know of that are high in fiber, not full of junk and sold by a generic label. I love Kashi Golean Crunch, Walmart had on sale a couple of weeks ago for $2.something here in GA, but they were sold out! So go with the healthy generic…

Okay, I see both points. Like Azdak, I remember the study about multivitamins not showing any beneficial effects. Until I see the actual documented proof from something that is new, I think I will wait till I spend what little money I have. So my choice is to eat healthy, whole foods, exercise and take my one a day…

Stay positive and look for anything you can improve on. How long, how hard you are working out, when & how much you are eating, are you getting enough sleep? You are trying and that is what counts. Demetria

I feel the same way! LOL most of the campbells have 2.5 servings Demetria
