Oatmeal settles a lot, so more oatmeal ends up taking up the same space. Try it. Put a half cup dry on the scale and I bet it weighs more than the 40g it's supposed to.

Yeah, I go by weekly average. I generally aim for 1800 on weekdays and 2500 on weekends for an average of 2000.

I see no flaws in your logic. However I like to fit a linear line to my daily weigh ins to track progress. The line has about the same slope if you connect lowest readings, put it somewhere in the middle, or connect highest.

I wouldn't do Whole 30 with kids. Actually I wouldn't do Whole 30 at all. Just cook good wholesome meals. Always include a vegetable with dinner. Eat smaller portions or skip the carb-side.

Who told you too after you gave birth? I recommend Spanx for going out, and patience, + diet and strength training for everything else.

*I haven't read any of the other replies. But yes, you can be "body positive" and still want to lose weight. To me body positive = you don't hate your body, which is good, you might not love the way it looks but you like, maybe even love what it is, what it does for you, etc.

Yup. I'd go with a very small calorie deficit. 250 to 500.

FYI: Kroger makes similar water. So if Walmart is out, diabetic guy can go to a Kroger store. Both Kroger's and Walmarts are WAY better than La Croix and much cheaper. I like to mix mine with Deep Eddy's favored vodka in the summer. Or I even use the blood orange flavor for a lower calorie sangria.

You don't mention fat. Fat is way more filling for me than protein. And yes, maybe you need the extra carbs. 50 of protein seems a little low, but maybe aim for 75 and get your carbs. Also, 2500 calories isn't that much for a 140 lb girl. I am just a little heavier (160) and can maintain at that. Definitely not…

Apple cider vinegar does nothing. Getting a flat stomach is about removing body fat, which is done with a calorie deficit. If walking helps you maintain your calorie deficit and you enjoy it, then yes, walking helps. It really depends a lot on your genetics and where you store your excess fat. If you happen to store it on…

If it's this, then 21g: https://www.amazon.com/Show-Whey-Protein-Powder-Vanilla/dp/B00G4PJHUY Same for this: https://www.terrynaturallyvitamins.com/whey-vanilla/

How did you come up with that 1200 deficit? Were you 1200 cal under your goal? Unless you set your calories to maintenance your goal should already include a deficit.
-
Kids should have breakfast. I'd still judge your mother. ;) But yes, if you ate exactly the same at lunch and dinner but then added another meal, you'd be in a calorie surplus and therefor gain. Skipping breakfast isn't necessarily a "good thing" but it can help you stay in a calorie deficit, or at maintenance, if it works…

I think it tastes horrible. Honestly I like the store brand at my King Soopers / Kroger way better. Walmart has a good store brand too. The store brands have more fruit flavor and less seltzer flavor.

I just use a pumice stone to keep mine smooth.

If you enjoy the exercise continue. Calorie deficit controls fat loss.

1. Respond with a dirty look and a very cold "thank you for your concern". 2. Don't tell people you are "dieting". Tell people you are making an effort to be healthier. No one can argue with that. 3. "No thank you, I'm not hungry" repeatedly and/or avoid family functions if they don't stop.

I usually have just coffee for breakfast. ::Shrug::

Yup. Both parents, 2 grandparents. Most of my aunts and uncles are/were probably obese. And now that we are adults, all of my 4 siblings are overweight and/or obese. Lots of diabetes and high blood pressure, strokes, etc. Fun stuff. My mother died at 60 due to a head injury (she fell down stairs) that was made much worse…

No, don't lower it. If anything raise it, especially if you are not eating your exercise calories.
-
Yea, definitely still do cardio. You can even bikr or run.

How long have you been at this 1900? Are you looking at long term weight trends or just day to day? What are your ultimate goals? At 5'5" and 135 lbs you are already at a healthy weight. Any further changes will be and should be very slow to minimize muscle lose and achieve optimal body composition. I am losing weight very…

Exactly. Peanut butter IS filling, but that wasn't the question. Beef jerky is great but expensive and high salt.

Have you decided on a lifting program? http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10332083/which-lifting-program-is-the-best-for-you#latest

I prefer to just add mine manually but yeah, I've been reading from a lot of people that there are issues with Garmin syncing lately.

I road bikes a lot when I was 12 or 13, then at some point I decided it was "uncool" (for a very uncool person I spent a lot of time trying and failing to be cool). In college I had friends who mountain biked and I was really interested but didn't have the money for a bike. My last semester of college I met a guy who…

I am a big chicken ON the road. Cars are way more scary than rocks and even trees.

Why are you doing body weight? Do you not have access to weights?
