  • Ive been all over the place... when I was modeling I was 120 (@ 5'11") and at my heaviest I was 183 (when I started MFP). I didn't feel good at 120 and I didn't feel good at 183 so for me (due to my body type) I feel just right at 150. As it was mentioned before, it really depends on how you "carry" weight. Im all legs so…
  • These sound great!!!! Especially around the holidays! Thank you for sharing.
  • I believe that the "light" soy sauce IS the low sodium variety. There aren't many calories in soysauce...just a crazy amount of sodium as you mentioned. Unfortunately, I don't think that there are going to be many substitutes that are going to be comparable. Ive used fish sauce and tamari soy but they too have alot of…
  • Ye Ole Standby.....SUBWAY!!!!!!!!
  • I know... but it is soooooooooo good. Lol. They make these little single serve containers but its powdered cheese and boiled water. Not nearly as good as that unlabled silver package of heaven they call "cheese". Just imagine... at a restaurant down by the beach they have a truffeled lobster mac and cheese. I don't even…
  • Welcome to MFP! This is such a great site...you will love it. Good luck on your journey. :drinker:
  • I know it feels good to see the numbers go down on the scale but the reality of it is that you are setting yourself up for dissapointment: 1. You will put yourself in "starvation" mode which will ultimately lead to the number on the scale NOT budging. 2. It is unhealthy!!!! Think of it as malnutrition, which will affect…
  • Velveeta shells and cheese....I could eat the whole thing by myself!
  • Ahhhh the possibilities. We usually marinate it (for a few days) or put a dry rub on it and throw it on the grill. It is such a versitile meat; you can do anything with it. One of the best recipes that I have tried was a pork tenderloin with blackberry sauce (I used low-sugar preserves) and horseradish mashed potatoes. You…
  • It's funny that you mention this. I have been out of the gym for a few weeks due to an injury, and I have been scared to even look at the scale. I finally did today...and I've lost 2.1 lbs. It's probrably muscle but it is still motivating. Lol. When I start back at the gym on Saturday I'm going to wait a week to check it…
  • It's really difficult to do little more than make some suggestions. Since I am unaware of your budget I can't really give you a "list". Your best bet is to do a bit of research...what does your family like? what do you like? what can you buy in bulk that is on sale? what can you fit in your freezer(s)? Read the lables and…
  • Whole wheat pasta, brown rice (you can hide the fact that it is brown), whole chickens (always cheaper than parts), eggs, lean ground beef.... FARMERS MARKET!!!! Fresh veggies at a fraction of the cost!!!! Do your kids fish? We go fishing once every few weeks and usually get a good amount. We clean it and freeze it so we…
  • Hey, your here right? Thats the first step.
  • I agree with BossyGirl....that sounds dangerous! :noway:
  • Your hubby is comming home in 10 weeks! That should motivate the crap out of you! You have done so well... get your butt in the gym!
  • I don't think that either are truly accurate. I just use their totals as "estimates". I think if you want an absolute reading, you would have to invest in a HR monitor or Body Bugg. Just know that you are burning calories and that is a good thing!
  • I don't think that you can put in a specific yoga/pilates move but you can type in "yoga" and put in the time that you were working. It probrably isn't the most accurate but you can take it with a grain of salt. Great job by the way. I take a yoga/pilates class at the gym and those are the worst. If you want a little extra…
  • Men's Fitness and Men's Health are going to be your best bets. My boyfriend has a subscription for Muscle and Fitness. I should warn you that it is geared toward men who are slaves to the gym and diet, but it is a great resource for food tweaks and new work-outs (and it has a bit of a "maxim factor" meaning that you get a…
  • I got a 40.00 scale for 16.00 at Ross. Try one of the outlet stores...if your patient then you can find a great deal.
  • Give the coupons to friends....it is the holiday season! I couldn't have my "trigger" foods around like that; especially not in that quantity. But it IS just my opinion.
  • Farmer Boy Greek Dressing- only 10mg of sodium and 25 calories for 2 Tbsp! Its awesome on salads, as a marinade, or a veggie dip.
  • Im sooooooo sorry. If it were me, I would worry about my heart and my head right now. Your in a tough spot but you will be okay. The hunger will come when it is ready. Just make sure that you make healthy choices. This is a big change...but....it could be positive right??? Get your booty to the gym and zone out on a cardio…
  • You should create one!
  • Sounds like you've got a great start planned out. Good luck!!!!!! :drinker:
  • I am ashamed to admit that there is a box of parmesean and garlic, a box of white cheddar, a box of pepper jack, and individual packages for lunch in the kitchen pantry. Damn the 2 for 1 sales! They really aren't THAT bad. I have them once a week.
  • Carrabbas bread and dipping oil... put some fresh parmesean in there with the herbs and it's heaven! It's funny though, when I get psyched up for a "cheat" day, I still find myself eating healthy. The stuff that I consider "cheat" foods dont take much to satisfy mr anymore. By the way...Cheezit's are amazing!!!!!!!
  • Just be careful...especially with "fat free" foods and condiments. You would be amazed how much hidden sugars are in those things!
  • Your TOM has first priority (sorry angry boyfriend) so it is OKAY to indulge a bit. As far as him DEMANDING that you put the ice cream away...that is rediculous. Although, once you tap into the male brain I'm sure that you will see that it is just his way of "motivating" you. Im sure he didn't mean to sound like he was…
  • Happy Birthday!
