I've got much more than 50 to lose...feel free to add me, too!

Try adding 30-40 seconds of Step-Ups and Lateral Box Runs. Get that cardio up!

Same here...my first was last weekend, and I'll be going again each Saturday. Felt a little out of place the first time, and had a hard time seeing the instructor while laying on the bench. But, I like it and plan to keep going.

I do, too, but I've found they're loaded with sodium, so I'm trying to shy away from them.

Add mushrooms and salsa, and you've got a winner!

Go for the salad bar first, and make two trips. After that, hit the grilled chicken & fish, plus all buffets usually have ample choices of veggies. Let the salad fill you up when you arrive, though!

Feel free to add me, I'm 46 and have a total of 130 to lose. We can definitely help each other.

5, 10, 15, and 40 pound kettlebells!

Mine for January are as follows: 1. drop an additional 10 pounds (but more would be nice) 2. get our bicycles fixed up and start riding regularly 3. no more beer binges...nothing but empty calories 4. quit dipping tobacco I think those will keep me busy.

Yes, please count me in.

Agreed. As far as "amount of weights" is concerned, ensure you're using an adequate weight so that your last rep is difficult to complete. If you're doing a set of 15 reps, for example, the 15th one should be hard to finish. If it's not, go to a higher weight next time.

Thanks to both of you! The kettlebell circuit I do on my own is never the same week-to-week, and I enjoy that I'm able to do SO many different exercises with these things. I think that's part of my "obsession" with the kettlebell, and also the reason I so much enjoy working out with kettlebells.

I have been doing a bodyweight training circuit 4 times per week, and it's helped tremendously. Would also suggest you make at least 30 minutes per day to simply walk...outside around your work campus is perfect.

Healthy Life makes a great high fiber bread, at only 35 calories per slice. Very tasty and sandwich-worthy. Or, you can try the "sandwich thins" made by Arnold, Nature's Own, Thomas, etc. The multi-grain versions are awesome, and you can also use them as hamburger buns.

The staff at my fitness center has me on a good 3x per week circuit, which requires minimal equipment...do each exercise for 30 seconds with 20 seconds between each exercise, and 1 minute between each set. False. T or F...resistance training is better for you than a half hour on the elliptical?

The staff at the fitness center I'm with has put me on a great circuit...3x each week. Great for beginners. I like to put hot sauce on most of my food, which has minimal calories but LOTS of sodium. I do track it to try to keep tabs on my sodium, which always seems to be off the charts anyway.

Morningstar Farms veggie burgers, baked fries, and sauteed mushrooms.

I've just started drinking one shake per day, when I get home from the gym. I'm alternating using Pure Protein Frosty Chocolate flavor and Cookies & Creme each day...one scoop with a cup of Silk Unsweetened Almond Mlik. They both taste very good.

Great topic. My family and I are focusing on portion control and makeover recipes this year. All of the food we prepare will be with healthy ingredients, and we will enjoy in moderation. Besides, we need a week of leftovers.

Feel free to add me.

Please add me, too...I have 130 to lose and just started getting serious about 2 weeks ago. Dropped 6 pounds so far with many to go.

I need the help, and I'll be happy to help you where I can! My goal is to lose 100 lbs in 2012!

I'll join you, too...my goal is to lose 100 lbs in 2012. Hope you don't mind a dude in your group!

According to the research I've done, the elliptical trainer burns the most calories. The stairmaster, although very sweat-inducing, actually burns the least of the three, assuming you use the treadmill at a pace of at least 3.0mph and with a tolerable incline.

Glad to have you here...it will all be worth it!
