McDonalds shouldnt even be allowed to be classified as food. Just because something is techinically edible doesnt me it is worth consuming. Flowers and insects are edible but you dont see me eating those.

If I am eating pizza I will add the higher calorie range just so I dont overeat that day. Pizza can range from 240 calories to 300 calories per slice ( at least in NYC anyway) so I calculate 600 calories for 2 slices. It may be less but at least I know I wont go over for the day. I had pizza on Saturday and my method…

definitely start eating more. I started at 1200 a day and lost 30 lbs. My body stalled after that. ( My total goal was 37lbs). It wa ssuggested to me to up my calories. I now eat 1460 a day (more with exercise). I had some minor fluctuations until my body got used to the new calories ( only 1-2lbs increase) but once I got…

If you are a meat eater I made 270 calorie hamburgers last week and that included the bun :) I got hamburger that was 93% lean for 170 calories per 4oz. I stumbled upon low-calorie buns in the bread aisle that were 80 calories each. With my seasoning, onions, and ketchup the whole burger was 270 calories. I discovered flax…

It never occured to me before to use sweet potatoes in a soup. I will have to try this my next food shopping trip.

probably hormones and/ or weight loss. Go to a gyno. I'd suggest birth control pills even if you are not sexually active. I used to be horribly irregular and found it so annoying to have to constantly keep track and worry when too much time went by between periods. Borth control pills fixed that up. No more wondering and…

I agree. I never pay any attention to the macros and have kept the weight off for 10 months.

As far as snacks, single serve bags of microwave popcorn are my fave. It takes a while to finish eating so it keeps you occupied and it is only 100 calories. Its better than something that is finished in a few seconds then you are still bored and want to look for something else. A bowl of cut up fruit or berries also…

I am down to my last 3 lbs and it seems to be taking forever. Once I reached my last 10 mark it seemed to be happening a lot slower. What calorie goal did you start out with? Are you on the same calorie goal now? I started at 1200. 2.5 months ago I upped it to 1460, which is where I am at now. I keep fluctuating by 2 lbs.…

I have noticed whole wheat or healthy grain products are the same amount of calories or less so I dont know what foods you are looking at. For example: - the whole wheat bread I buy is 70 calories per slice compared to the white of the same brand for 80. - Whole wheat pancake mix is 150 calories for 1/2 a cup dry mix…

Why should people keep refilling it? How do they know more people are going to drink it? It could just sit unused for the rest of the day. Personally, I feel like like if you want to drink coffee you are lucky if someone else already had it made. That is a perk. Otherwise, just make it yourself. That's the way it is in my…

I would not count that as exercise.

When you bring up the subject with him I would say that you were young when you had the discussion about when to have children and although you werent ready then and knew you saw yourself having children later on you were a little naive to put an actual number on it. As you get older, especially women, needs start to…

I lost the first 20lbs in 4 months by eating 1200 calories daily, no less. You have to eat proper meals. I still ate 3 meals a day and 2-3 snacks a day. You need to eat in order to lose weight. You cant starve yourself. When I got to 30 lbs lost, my body stalled at 1200 calories and now I am eating 1460. I lost 4 lbs in 6…

Speak for yourself. I lost the first 30lbs eating 1200 calories and you know what? I wasnt starving, shaky, or deprived. Most people dont know how to eat right to begin with regardless of their calorie goal. OP--- what are you eating daily? Do you eat fruit or carbs? You just need to learn to balance your meals properly.

Hmmm.... The salsa addition to a salad doesnt really mix with my tastebuds. The apple idea sounds interesting but also too dry. I like all the creative ways people try to better their meals. If i'm trying to save calories with my salad dressing I just do one serving spict brown mustard, a splash of white vinegar, and a…

Maybe this had nothing to do with the OP's weight and had more to do with one person invading another person's space. I live in NYC and public transit is a nightmare due to overcrowding and limited seat space. The so-called underfed woman asked if the OP could move a step over. It was probably because the seated woman felt…

I guess I am lucky. No one in my office pushes food on me. They had a birthday party on Monday and was going around with cake. They offered me some but they actually said, you are doing so good you dont want any do you? I didnt want any.

I make my own sometimes with 2 servings of spicy brown mustard, white vinegar, and one packet of equal ( you could use real sugar or another sweetener or your choice). It makes a nice, tangy, mustard vinegrette for only 10 calories. I used that today on my spinach salad. It was very yummy.

You are not eating enough. Thats why you are not losing weight. I know it sounds crazy you have to eat more to lose more but it is true. You shouldnt be eating less than 1200 calories. If you are exercising 4 times a week you have to eat up what you burn to make sure you are not falling below 1200. Your body is going to…

It started with a pedometer ( I dont use it anymore but it gave me an idea of how active I was which has been my guidance) A food scale was the best thing I bought. I dont think I could have truly controlled portions without it. Sneakers that dont hurt my feet and allow me to walk for as long as a i like.

For all those suggesting "pizza" without cheesesorry, that is not pizza. What's the point? Just eat no more than 2 slices, no crazy toppings, simple sauce and cheese and you will be fine. I tend to make my own flatbread pizzas at home for a total of 330 calories. I do miss real NY pizza and have eaten it on the rare…

just force yourself to drink water or any other naturally made drink. It may be hard for you in the beginning but as with any other habit you quit, after a week or two it gets easier until you dont even miss it. I have not drank soda in about 7 years and I dont miss it at all. I have taken a random sip of my BF's drink if…

Nothing wrong with getting your pasta fix as long as you measure the serving you eat. Pasta is one of those things that is way too easy to eat if you have an endless supply on your plate. I eat pasta on a regular basis. I just measure the uncooked 2oz serving of whole wheat pasta and add 1/4 cup sauce. The whole thing is…

Exercise is how used to cope with stress. Now that I am not stressed I dont have the motivation to exercise. Maybe try to find time for yourself away from things. Even if its just getting your nails done, sitting in a park ( when weather permits) reading a book, taking scenic walks. When I have the urge to eat something…

Unless you plan on working out 6 days a week for the rest of your life then you should probably scale back a little. You will probably get fabulous results that you will not be able to maintain unless you go 6 days a week forever and in the long term, at least for most people, that is not realstic to keep up. I used to…

You just have to learn not to pay attention to what everyone else is eating/saying. You cant control other people so just focus on yourself. Dont be jealous of them/ That fast food crap sucks. The longer you eat healthy the more that manufactured crap they eat will truly taste like crap to you. I didnt eat McDonalds for…

It frustrates me how technical everything becomes and all the different diets/ food regimes people telly ou to follow. Before TV, Internet, Publications, fast food, and processed food people managed to get things right. Don't be a glutton with food, the body is meant to walk and work, and you will reap the benefits of…
