I'm in! I want to lose 10 lbs in Feb, another 10 in March!

I want to join! This is perfect timing! In 10 weeks my husband and I are going away together, just the 2 of us (no kids) for 5 days. We will be spending a lot of time on the beach/at the pool and I would love to be several pounds lighter by that point. I was losing at a pretty good rate but have slowed down the last week…

Beans and edamame are high in protein but fairly low calorie, try adding those to your diet. Also Kashi makes several cereals, bars and oatmeal that have higher protein amounts.

Looks like you are off to a good start. I do have a few suggestions 1. Check your portion size. When I first started I was sometimes underestimating the size of a portion. So I would put I ate 6 oz of something when in reality it was more like 10 oz. So use measuring cups and spoons, scale ect . . . at least until you…

My overall goal is to lose 80 lbs, but I set several other small goals that are non weight related. For example, when I first started working out my goal I told myself once I got to exercising for at least 30 min each session at least 6 times a week I would get new shoes for working out (because if I am really working out…

Congrats on your weight loss and college. I work with on a college campus and most all campuses have so many resources for students. Does your campus have a fitness center? Most do, and most of the time students have free access. Also, check with the staff at the fitness to center to find out what other resources besides…

pasta's are good options, you can do pasta with a meat free sauce and she can toss some meat on top of hers. I also like eggplant burgers. Skin then slice the eggplant pretty thick, season to taste and grill and saute in a pan, put on a whole wheat but with all the burger condiments you like. Do the same thing with…

I was a yoplait light person as well, but after learning that Greek is healthier I switched to Dannon Oikos. Sometimes I get the vanilla and put different fruit on top to keep it from getting boring. I LOVE the key lime flavor and the fruit on the bottom strawberry. The conistancy is different then yoplait and it take me…

I have the same problem, what has worked for me (and this is only some of the time) on the cabinet with the junk food, on the inside door, I have taped a piece of paper that says how many pounds I have lost so far and it also says things like "30 min on elliptical = ___calories burned" "30 min jogging = _____ calories…

I by the Steamer bags (made by Ziploc I think) I will put different veggies and some seasoning (nothing with salt) on them and steam for lunch. You can also use the bags to steam fish. We usually grill out on the weekends, so I grill extra chicken breasts that are just for my lunch. I use them the first few days of the…

Edamame (Dry Roasted Wasabi is my fav) Fish Beans Egg Whites Non fat greek yogurt Low fat cheese or low fat cottage cheese tuna (packed in water) Also many of the Kashi brand cerals, bars, waffles and oatmeal have tons of protein, so they make a good breakfast choice that will keep you feeling full throughout the morning.

the suggestion for Zumba is a great one, and a good Zumba class will give you variations on the moves to make it more or less challenging depending on your fitness level. Adding strength/weight training to your cardio would be a good idea as well.

cut back gradually and added lots of fruit to my diet

1. I use my lunch break at work for my exercise time. This helps in 2 ways, it ensures I exercise at least 4 days a week (I save one day to run errands). And because I will be working out, I have to pack my lunch and I am much more likely to pack a healthy low calorie lunch in the morning, where if I went out to pick up…

I bought a few dresses on sale, they don't show the "frumpiness" as much and can straddle a few different size ranges. I also bought a few wide stretchy belts, too big shirts and dresses can be made very chic with a belt to scrunch in the right place. I know I don't want to buy new clothes now because I plan to continue to…

Today for my new recipe, I tried something new for breakfast. This was really not a recipe, but my husband is making dinner tonight, so I will have to try out an actual recipe later this week, but I still wanted to meet the challenge. So I tried the Kashi truly vanilla instant oatmeal with a banana sliced on top of it. I…

So yesterday I tried one of the other elliptical trainers at the gym, I always use the same one, but yesterday I tried the one that goes forwards, backwards to the side. The side movement really worked some different leg muscles, I felt that this morning when I got up!

I only log my actual workouts, the activities I intentionally do for the purpose of burning calories that require me to change clothes (ie, going to the gym, doing workout DVD at home, going for a walk/jog around the neighborhood.) I don't log cleaning because that is just normal daily activity to me. If I am walking to my…

my nutrionist said greek yogurt is healthier because it has more protein. Try some different kinds, I didn't like the first few I tried. I like Oikos the best. I usually get the Dannon Oikos and the StonyField. Also, maybe mixing some fruit with it will help.

Today I tried roasted Edeamame. I had eaten steamed before and thought it was just ok, but today I tried the lightly salted and wasabi roasted and it was awesome! Similar to peanuts, it made a great snack. And from looking at the label it is way less fat then peanuts but more protein. I will be having this more often. Hint…

Chili's has some good options, also Ruby Tuesday has great options. I love to get the tilapia w/steamed veggies and salad. And most of the chain restaurants have their nutrition information online, so you can check it out ahead of time.

Awesome! Isn't it funny, when your work clothes don't fit because they are too tight, it is so frustrating, but when they don't fit because they are too big, it is like "Hooray!!!" Keep up the great work!

my diary is open, I try to mix it up, some mornings a smoothie (plain non fat greek yogurt, fruit and a little skim milk) some mornings 2 strips turkey bacon w/2 scrambled eggs and some fruit, some mornings oatmeal w/some fruit and nuts and every once in a while on the weekends I will make whole wheat french toast w/fruit.…

My husband has been very supportive of my weight loss and has been exercising with me and encouraging me to keep going. But getting him on the "healthy eating" track was a bit more difficult. He liked his sweets, he likes his ribs, burgers, ect. And as long as he works out he can still eat them and lose. I found the trick…

When I know we are going out to eat, I look it up ahead of time. I have often been surprised by how many calories some of the supposed "healthier" options like salads and such have. I like to check my meal ahead of time and make sure it fits into my calorie allotment so I can make adjustments if necessary.
