5'9. 155-150 lbs (will decide for sure once I get down there). I am willing to adjust my goal as I lose weight because I"m just not sure where I"ll feel the best. :)

Honestly? I would seek a second opinion. If a second doctor gives the same diagnosis - fine... but when it comes to something like this don't trust the opinion of one man.

Haha. I more jog then run really but if my heart rate reaches 180 I get really sick so I've become quite good at keeping it under. :) I won't be able to try week 4 until next week due to my running partners hesitation to tackle the next step!

You can argue the science all you want - the bottom line is people have more success losing weight using HRMs then they do relying on 'calorie' estimators. I think MFP can vouche for that...
-
HRM's do not rely on heart rate alone, they calculate oxygen used as well to determine calories burned. That's why HRM's with chest straps are pushed so much and the monitors that only calculate heart rates are generally discouraged.

Heh. 100% agree with this.

I am accountable to me and me alone so I do not publicly share my diary. Besides which there are some real health freaks on this board and I'd never want to give them fuel to judge me if we were in a debate. :) Not that I eat all that terribly but I'm not overly concerned with clean eating either. Anyway - yeah. I don't…

PS: I was trying to use a pedometer to figure out A: how far I was running and B: how many steps I was taking but the daft thing is WAY off base I'm SURE because it had me at 10000 steps! And almost 4miles. PSHT I say. I'd take a GPS reading anyday over that silliness.

I could have just went to their site and signed up but I'm a bit daft sometimes. Whoops! My phone is included - I will be signing up because it sounds like fun! :) My internet isn't working at the moment though so it might be a few days before I log on properly, but when I do we should be Endo friends! Do you run or bike?…

:) Does it go high for short periods or long periods? If it's just little blips here and there maybe your strap is slipping? And/or maybe there's electrical interference messing up the numbers? If it's for longer periods and you feel fine... well, you're right! You wouldn't worry about it if you didn't have a HRM and…

Not just vegetables but lots of water too! Just thought I'd add that in. As soon as I started drinking more water my *ahem* issues cleared up... and so did my pipes.

I don't know about fluidity ballet but I burned 300 calories doing 60 minutes of ballet classes. Which I thought was pretty darn impressive because we were just doing stretches. No running, jumping or anything!

I didn't see any lbs lost until 6 weeks into this thing and inches have been even more stubborn!

While you are a conscious eater have you tried logging every thing you eat here? It might help to see exactly what you're eating. But also do you know how many calories you're burning? If you could figure out how much you're burning in relation to what you're eating you might find the problem there. Before you get too…

Oh no worries. I sweat IN the uni-boob not over it... ? I'm not worried at all! The last 10 can take their sweet time as far as I'm concerned. I'm definitely a person who has settled into this lifestyle and is content taking my time. Which is why the first 42 took so long! Hahahaha. If I get sick of calorie counting I eat…

This is a silly response BUT; The best HRM is the one that fits your budget AND comes with a chest strap. :D
-
The highest my heart rate gets is 171. Usually if it gets higher I start to feel sick so I make sure to run a bit slower if I get to that point. I'm no expert but I think as long as you feel okay it shouldn't be a problem?

I'm single currently but when I was dating the guys knew. HAHAHAHHA. I mean, I'm REALLY upfront about my weight and if somehow it came up in conversation (which as soon as they find out Im running and watching what I eat they want to know why and it leads to the weight loss discussion which leads to; oh come ON! You don't…

Doesn't work for me! Morning workouts leave me tired and ill the rest of the day. :D If I work out at night I get to sleep more easily and feel better the next day.
-
I definitely think you could eat the calories the day after! I mean, why not? You don't gain/lose weight in a day anyway... so why couldn't you aim for a weekly calorie goal instead of daily?

There is MUCH debate about this. My opinion (after much, much reading) is that the best time to exercise is the time that works for you. :)

I've heard Stevia isn't that great for you either. http://www.diet-blog.com/07/is_stevia_safe.php And that's just one blog exploring the 'safety' of Stevia. It's too bad we all have such sweet tooths! I cut out ALL sweeteners for awhile and honestly it got to the point where foods tasted really damn good in their natural…

I tried other dieting websites before this one and I can honestly say that without MFP I would NOT be where I am (41lbs lighter and running 5k three times a week!!!!). Now that I've learned what I needed to I could continue without MFP but I am so glad I had this very integral learning experience. Thank you Mike! You're my…

I really really REALLY wish there was.

I remember reading once that a HRM cannot accurately measure the amount of calories burned during weight training... I forget the science behind it but yeah... calorie burnage when strength training is a difficult thing to measure. When I was heavy duty weight training my HRM claimed I was burning just 50 calories in 30…

I have a little bit of chocolate every SINGLE day. I have semi-sweet chocolate squares in my cupboard for my daily fix. ): I don't eat much because in large doses chocolate makes me VERY sick but I have to have that little bit or I'm just owly. HAHAHA. *sigh* I mean I'm glad I've got it under control so I'm not eating tons…

I'm a little confused about lactose intolerance because I was lactose intolerant for years - I couldn't touch even a small amount of lactose... but these days I can have skim milk in my cereal with no problem, or a serving of ice cream without running to the bathroom crying... Is lactose intolerance something that eases…

What path? *confused* I hate accidentally stumbling down thorny paths. ):
