I own 200 cows, 2 alpacas, a llama, and an alpaca/llama crossbreed. Anyone else got those?

Marilyn Monroe was a size 14. Those guys will be missing out on a LOT of really hot girls... but I guess that'll just save those girls for guys who really deserve them.

i work out at home, so i don't care about panty lines. but still, i'm commando during workouts. it's just so much more comfortable that way.

You'll get your fitness level up faster by doing the weight training. Unless you have a medical reason not to (post-op, etc), there's no reason to wait. Just start slow, w/ a weight you can handle, and work your way up.
-
This is so true! I learned through experience (and later read up on it -- geez!) that lifting comes first. And even w/o the scientific evidence, logic tells you that if you do your cardio first, you won't have the energy to lift afterwards.

pan "fry" w/ any sort of citrus grill seasoning. or actually grill it, if you have one of those grill baskets.

I'm just lucky enough to be able to grow it. I couldn't afford to buy organic for five kids!!

I don't think she was judging, but rather, trying to understand how things work.

I have heard that this happens with many women athletes (gymnasts, especially). It may be exercise related-- and sounds like it since it coincides w/ the fitness changes you've made-- but I would still get checked out just to be safe.
-
yeah... what they all said  also, if you've just started exercising, don't be surprised (or discouraged) if your weight has actually even gone up a lb or 2. muscle weighs more than fat, so as you gain muscle, you may go up every now and then. measurements are definitely a more accurate way to check your progress.

I can't see your diary, but it sounds like you're not eating the RIGHT things. Like another poster said, cravings happen for a reason. It may just be a nutritional deficiency, or it may be that you are becoming insulin resistant. If I were you, I'd take a trip to the dr's office for some blood work to rule these things out.

I use my Magic Bullet every day!! LOVE IT!!
-
what brand do you use? some are great. some don't do a damn thing :(

I've never had any problem w/ daily workouts either. I would offer some advice on those squats though: don't stop doing them, but rather, make them harder. go to one foot. or add some weight. I do mine with a 35lb. kettlebell. I do lunges while lifting an 18lb kettlebell overhead. Most important rule I stick to is having…

it depends.... if i have just one every now and then, then i wouldn't bother. but if it's something that's one a day, or more, then definitely it should be tracked. you want to know when you are forming habits, more than just knowing you had those 5 calories.

this. also, party food tends to be high in carbs, which also causes water retention. double whammy!
-
green tea is great for energy/fat burn, but not for hydration. anything w/ caffeine will dehydrate the body. decaf green tea would count as water, but you wouldn't get the energy affect.
-
no. just no. your water intake can be anything that isn't laden w/ sugar, caffeine, salt, or alcohol. the purpose of water is to keep your body hydrated, so any liquid that doesn't DEhydrate or cause unnecessary calorie consumption is fine.

I actually told my husband this morning that I want to develop a low fat/ high protein ice cream recipe -- because there are some things I just don't want to give up! I will post it when I get it figured out.

You CAN do it! Like others have said, there's lots of things (especially cardio) you could do at home so that you're not away as often. Then, a couple of days a week, you could go to the gym to check in with the PT, and to do some weight training. If your boys are well behaved, you could bring them with you and have them…

She's obviously not a single parent, as she said she feels guilty about running out when her husband gets home from work

Absolutely! Hold a kettlebell or other heavier free weight (dumbbells won't cut it for long). Curtsey lunges are great for inner/outer thighs especially. Instead of going straight back, take one knee to the floor BEHIND the opposite foot, then switch to the opposite leg. Hold the weight and maintain proper posture, and you…

I have found that when I am "dieting", my husband tends to eat WORSE! Just this morning he said "whatever you lose, I gain!" Of course I pointed out WHY he gains (which he knows anyway). Every man is different, but if you're looking for examples, I'm afraid I can't help

This is true, provided you are talking about natural foods. However, once you start talking about processed snacks, like chips, cookies, cakes, etc, they are in fact "bad". They have no (or virtually no) nutritional value, and are loaded w/ fat and simple sugars, which are "bad", no matter how little you eat. Will a small…

BW: 146.8 CW: 144.2 Down 2.6 lbs. Not bad after the "Mother's Day Binge":blushing:

this. basically, any sort of free weight exercise you do will strengthen the abs if you use proper form. and you definitely want to use proper form for safety's sake!
-
feel free to add me. and i totally understand your frustration w/ friends/family. they either don't understand, or they do and they are jealous of any success you have!
