  • Another thought- know idea if this would help- but if it is the carrying the weight volume that is an issue during lunges could you put some weights in a backpack or get a weighted vest? That might be useless information so feel free to ignore if it is!
  • A this morning after night shift. I deloaded everything as I was tired and wanted to work on form rather than ploughing on regardless so it was fairly easy. I have also set the app now for tiny increments for all increases. Squat 5x5 60kg Rows 5x5 35kg BP 5x5 32.5kg I still don't know whether my row form sucks or not. I…
  • I am imagining @DawnEmbers‌ and @threnjen‌ seeing each other doing the workout but not knowing each other and being secretly impressed by another fellow female lifter!
  • I am watching this thread with interest for helpful hints. I am sure some form changes would help my OHP (l suck!). The book costs a fortune in the UK and I never get on that well with reference books on the kindle, I prefer a hard copy to be able to flick through more easily. Maybe for my birthday :)
  • My March goals- 1) continue to do SL 3x weekly 2) Deload and practice form if needed rather than struggle with heavy weights 3) lose 2lbs and assess whether to move to maintenance or continue a bit further depending on bodyfat level. I would like to lose a bit more thigh fat but may upper body is pretty thin now. 4) Keep…
  • Thank you @mirrim52‌ you have made my day  all set for very small increases now!
  • I really wish you could programme the ap to jump up less weight at a time rather than it being the set amount.
  • B today here. Squats 5x5 at 66kg (145.5lbs) OHP 5x5 25kg (55lb) DL 1x3 85kg (187lbs) Pressed up another kg in the squats to 66kg but wondering whether to drop to 60kg for a few sessions and work back up to make sure form is ok. Some of these may not have been 100% parallel. OHP- deloaded to 25kg/55lb from 27.5kg. These…
  • A today 5x5 squats 65kg BP should have been 37.5kg but wasn't going well so deload to 36kg and 3x5 2x4 Rows 42.5kg 5x5 OHP on Monday  my nemisis.
  • @psych101‌ Just to add I am VERY jealous of your sunshine!
  • B today after a night shift- Squats 5x5 65kg (143lbs) OHP total deload 5x5 22.5kg (49.6lbs) DL 1x5 80kg (176lb) My OHP is dire. After being stuck at 26.5kg for ages I was supposed to move up today but for some reason even that felt really heavy and I was struggling to get a couple of reps in. I did a load with the bar and…
  • @glwerth‌ Amazing OHP numbers- I am in awe- Huge congrats!! I really struggle with them. @canadianlbs‌ Good luck with the meeting x
  • workout A today Squats 5x5 62.5kg (138lbs) Bench 5x5 37.5kg (83lb) Row 5x5 42.5kg (94lbs) I will stick to the bench weight again next time as I had a break in a couple of the sets for a few seconds so I could get all the reps in. Still not 100% sure about row form but I think it is getting better.
  • @crabada‌ No, I am using the Oly bar but sometimes I can only manage 3 reps then I need to set it down for a minute and then do the next 2 to make the 5. I have been struggling at this weight for a while so at least doing that I eventually got all the reps in. Sorry to have confused you! Terminology isn't my strong point…
  • A 6 mile walk this morning up some steep hills with the kids and the dog. Our 3 year old managed the whole lot <3 We timed it well as we just got back in when it started sleeting hard. Work out B after a Sunday lunch. 5x5 squats 60kg (132lb) this should have been 65kg but my legs felt a bit tired. 5x5 OHP 26kg (57) I still…
  • That is amazing, thank you for the reply. I will stick at the smaller deficit for the next period and go from there and take progress pics too. Thank you again :)
  • I use this tool for working out my bodyfat. http://www.fat2fittools.com/tools/mbf/ I know none of them are entirely accurate but at least it shows you trends when you do it repeatedly. There are quite a few good calculators on their site. I would guess the same as the other you could probably eat more and feel a bit better…
  • On the 12th Jan when I started logging again I was 64.5kg/26.9% BF using the military calculator. On 18th Feb I was 61.5kg/ 22.5%. There were a few days in that period where I would have eaten at/above maintenance when we were at family events etc, the rest of the time about a 500kcal deficit roughly (1lb a week setting on…
  • For what it's worth I have only been eating at a deficit for the last 6w or so. A couple of years ago after my 3rd baby I started with MFP and ended up at 55kg which in retrospect was too low for me. I think my bf was around 17% then and I was pretty skinny on the top half. I did have thin thighs for the first time ever…
  • Hi, I want to gain strength mainly but also if I could lose some fat that would be a bonus. I wasn't sure whether to eat at maintenance and try and recomp a bit while getting newbie gains from lifting heavy or whether I should eat at a deficit for longer? Thanks!
  • Workout A today after a few days off. Squats- 5x5 62.5kg.(135lb) These felt heavy. I got a couple of saw horses delivered from amazon to use as catchers just in case- they are maybe a tiny bit too high but will do. I don't know whether to deload slightly or just stick at this. Bench 5x5 at 35kg (77)- I have failed these a…
  • Here are some from this afternoon. Not sure why the light is all funny in them and sorry they are sideways. Any tips on whether to eat at a deficit still or switch to maintenance would be much appreciated.
  • A couple of images from the other day, sorry if they are massive. I don't have any of my legs at the moment.
  • Great, I will do 3 times a week. I was doing every other day but now it is taking longer with the longer rest breaks 3x week will be more manageable. Thanks everyone
  • I was supposed to do A saturday morning but had worked night shift Friday night and was really busy and really tired so didn't as we had a load of family stuff on later in the day. I worked night shift last night-manic again- and then I had a dental appointment for a filling on the way home. I went and started the warm up…
  • work out B here today too. squats 5x5 @62.5kg (138lb) which is bodyweight  I don't think I was quite parallel on the last couple though and they felt tough. I think I might stick there since I work out at home alone with no safety stuff next time rather than push it. OHP- like everyone else today and yesterday…
  • A this morning. Been really difficult to concentrate at it is school holidays and I have a 3,5 and 7 year old demanding attention while I am trying to do it. Squats- 5x5 60kg (132) BP 35kg (77)- 3x5 and 2x4. I will need to repeat these next time again, I did this weight last time too. Had I had less distractions this…
  • @DawnEmbers‌ Hope you feel better soon :)
  • Work out B early this morning. Squats- 5x5 at 57.5kg (127lb) OHP 4x5 and 1x4 at 26kg (57.3lb) I only rested 90secs between sets as I didn't have much time so I probably could have managed if I had a longer break. DL 1x5 70kg (154lb) I stayed the same wt for DL as last time as it was heavy. I tried a mixed grip this time…
  • work out A- Squats 5x5 55kg BP 35kg- 1st set 4, second set 3 then managed 3 sets of 5 with longer breaks and more effort from legs/abs. I had considered not jumping from 32.5kg up to 35kg but went for it. Hopefully next time I will make these. Rows- Man I hate rows, I really struggle with form. Last time I jumped to 40kg…
