My guy & I had a 'no strings' thing for two years before we became a couple. I'd reached the end of my rope waiting for him to realise what was under his nose, and told him we couldn't be friends any more. That night, he asked me to be his girlfriend. The morning after, I asked him how he felt...expecting him to come up…

I take a progress pic every two months, my last pic was 1st November and I was 208lb. I'm aiming to be in ONEderland by 1st January. 9lb in two months is a pretty reasonable goal to me.

That's wonderful work, you should be very proud of yourself, you look great! Amazing what a difference it makes to your posture too! Congratulations :flowerforyou:

Thank you all so much for your kind words  I wish I had taken a 'proper' start weight picture, but by the time I'd started it was too late, and that is literally the ONLY photo in existence of me at that size, I became very good at avoiding cameras at my biggest! I think the only reason that picture survived is…

That is excellent hun, you look like a completely different person. Having a support network definitely helps, I rely a lot on my fiancé & friends to keep me motivated & on track and it makes such a difference! Good luck with the next 50lb, I'm sure you'll get there in no time & look fabulous :flowerforyou:

I am 195 days in and just over halfway to my goal weight and was thinking the same thing - the reason I've been able to change my eating habits and allow myself the occasional treat is because I know exactly what I'm putting in my body now...I don't see that changing any time soon! When I get to my goal weight I don't want…

My friend has fibromyalgia and has been struggling with weight loss for years now. She maintained a healthy 1500 cal diet and exercised regularly but her medication prevented her from losing weight. She started the Cambridge diet under the supervision of her doctor two weeks ago (against my advice) and has lost 13lb so…

Hi everyone I got engaged on Christmas Eve 2011 and we're getting married on October 12 next year. So far have I have lost 39lb, and am aiming to lose a futher 45lb to hit my healthy goal weight of <174lb. The wedding is a big motivation for me to lose weight, but it's not my only reason - I have a 1 year old daughter who…

I was eating 1200 calories and burning 500+ calories 3 times a week at the gym, and not eating exercise calories back. I upped my calories to 1500-1600 and took a two week break from the gym. Now when I exercise, I eat around 1/3 to 1/2 of my exercise calories back. I've been losing steadily since. If I have a couple weeks…

That's wonderful, congratulations, I bet that feels amazing :flowerforyou:

I'm 5'10 and my goal weight is 174. This is *just* within the healthy weight range on the BMI. If I get to 180 and feel I look good, and I'm fit and healthy then I will stop there though. I have a big frame (wide shoulders and hips), so I don't want to look ridiculous just so that a Doctor can say I am a 'healthy' weight.

Wow, your legs look amazing!!! :noway: Well done, you've done so so well. You're my hero! :flowerforyou: Lol!

Congratulations that is wonderful, you should be very proud of yourself!

I lost weight through illness once and got down (very briefly) to a UK size 12, but I wasn't happy. I think I have a big frame - my shoulders and hips are quite broad, and when I was that size, every single person I knew immediately asked upon seeing me if I was ill - apparently I just don't suit being skinny! I think a 14…

Thanks! I love your tattoos, btw!

Wow, this site is amazing! Thank you! :flowerforyou:

A 14? That's pretty good, that's kind of what I was expecting/hoping for! I was a UK size 22 when I started this lifestyle change, so being a 14 would be absolutely wonderful

I've never been asked that before - thank God - but just reminded me of someone asking my friend that very same question...she had a one year old son (at the time) and this guy just said 'so when's the next one due?'...she didn't understand and said 'oh I don't know, a long time yet.' He didn't get it and persisted with…

Here's my progress so far. I'm 5'10.

I had a similar problem when I started...I have scoliosis (a thoracolumbar curve) and damaged knee joints, I really struggled initially with any kind of impact exercise or stress on my back or knees and would ache for days afterwards from one workout. The people above me are right, swimming or aqua aerobics really helped…

If you eat your carrots, you can see in the dark. If you look directly at the sun, you will go blind. If you eat your bread crusts, you'll get hair on your chest.

I really think your goal is just as important if it's 10lb or 100lb! We're all here to get healthier at the end of the day! :) Congrats ladies, lots of brides-to-be out there :flowerforyou:

Thank you all so much for your wonderful words of support :) Has really made my day! I joined MFP in March this year with a start weight of 258 (18 stone 6lb). My goal weight is 174 (12 stone 6lb), which is a healthy weight for my height (5'10). I'm so excited to have come this far already and am really starting to believe…

Thank you so much! I'd like to point out that the top is new, I don't wear the same clothes every year haha, I just like black vests!
-
Wow you look wonderful! Well done, it's amazing that just a few pounds can make such a big difference to how you look and feel :)
-
Congrats ladies! :) I know I can do it...I'm too stubborn not to haha, and I have other motivations like being a healthy role model for my baby girl, but it's great to have a target and a date to work towards!

How many times a week do you go to the gym? If it was say, 3 times, could you go twice with her and once alone or vice versa? Is there something else you could do together that wasn't at a gym - swimming, walking, cycling...an exercise/dance class? Just going to the gym isn't the only way to lose weight and get fitter…

I'm 25lb down and I've been stuck for about a month now. I've upped my calories to 1500-1600 from 1200-1300, started drinking 6-8 tall glasses of water a day, I'm tracking my sodium levels and have changed from 90 mins of moderate weights/cardio twice a week to 40-60 mins of high intensity interval training/heavier weights…

I'm getting married October next year. When my fiancé proposed on Christmas Eve 2011, I was a UK size 22 (US 20) and 258lb. I began eating healthier and joined a gym in March this year. Three months later I have lost 25lb and dropped two dress sizes, I am now a UK size 18 (US 16). I do not have a size in mind that I am…
