  • It'd be fun if you could like keep a list of the podcasts on the first post of this thread :) Anyway, here are a few: Nicole's podcasts: http://gonicoleyourself.blogspot.com/2008/06/couch-to-5k-podcast-page.html Christian indie podcasts: http://www.buriedtalentsband.com/C25K/ Cues only, no music:…
  • Yea, there has been a lot going on with my life. I graduated from school, and decided to have a year off from studying and work instead. My best friend is moving to England which just makes me sad. But right now, I'm really determined to get this thing going on  I'm really excited about starting exercising again,…
  • nueta1922, You're not a failure at all! If I were you, I might do a special 3½ week designed just for myself  Perhaps something like replacing the 5-minute-jogs with 4-minute-jogs. That should be a little easier but I think it would still require pushing yourself and trying hard. I need to share it here.. I completed…
  • I use Google as well. My home page is iGoogle, I really like it. I made it match my sleek black Firefox and then added cool features to it
  • I think I won't take time to run when I go on vacation. Bad me, but I think there will be enough walking as my friend and I are walkers indeed  I'll be gone for 10 days then but I'm feeling pretty confident about being able to get back on track with running once I get home  By the way, I finished Week 8 this…
  • I just love Nicole's podcasts that pettmybunny mentioned as well. They can be found at: http://gonicoleyourself.blogspot.com/2008/06/couch-to-5k-podcast-page.html Unfortunately, there is no podcast for the last week so I need to use some other podcast for that then.
  • Great to see that there are so many people on here that are willing to give this program a shot. It's so worth it! I'm currently doing Week 8. The next run will take place this evening, it's going to be the second run of the eighth week. I run every second day and this way I'll be finished with the program the day…
  • I had pain in my calves as well during weeks 3 and 4, or something like that. However, I got over it by starting to strech properly. Nowadays I always stretch a little after the warm-up (calves, thighs.. just quickly - I stop the podcast while I do this so that it won't be cheating  ). After a jog I stretch as well.…
  • Is your knee any better, lettuceb? It must be really frustrating - trying your best to wait until the pain goes away but at the same time wanting to go on with the program. If I go on this way, running every second day (which makes one week 6 days long instead of 7), I'll be done with the program a day before I go on…
  • I seem to never reach my fat or carbs levels.. but I go over on protein and sugar rather often. You won't get much out of checking my food diary out since there are some things in Finnish, but.. check it out if you want to  Anyways, some things that come into my mind are rye bread (perhaps with some low-fat cheese,…
  • How have you guys been doing with your running? I amazed myself today by completing Week 6. 25 minutes was tough but I made it! I felt like such a super woman afterwards
  • How about cottage cheese? At least that is high in protein. If I have cottage cheese in the morning, I usually have it with some rye bread and cheese, or then I just have it on its own. Oatmeal is one of my favorites as well, but it's not exactly low in carbs.
  • I use Nicole's podcasts (a little like Suz's, hip hop, pop and all that) that can be found at: http://gonicoleyourself.blogspot.com/2008/06/couch-to-5k-podcast-page.html If you're the type to get bored easily, there are a few different options to choose from during the first weeks so you don't have to do all three days of…

  • You might want to search for different Couch to 5 K topics, there are at least two very recent ones on here  I myself started C25K some 6 weeks ago and yesterday I did Week 6 Day 2. That means I only have the "long" runs left (no stops in between) and to tell you the truth, it horrifies me  But I managed to…

  • I guarantee that running is worth all the effort! I never thought that I would be able to run 20 mins without stopping but I did it. I started Week 6 on Saturday and that means that I will try my best to run for 25 mins later on this week. Don't hesitate - start running
  • tttthumper, Best of luck with your attempt to quit smoking! I bet you'll feel a lot better once you start feeling the effects of quitting. Lol, well I have never even smoked a single cigarette, but my dad has been a smoker on and off.. started when he was a teenager, quit around 25 but then picked the habit up again at 35…
  • Yay, I did better than yesterday, haha. 1:20 today
  • Chrissyh, congrats! You did an awesome job :flowerforyou: I've been thinking how to make my next run as smooth as possible.. there are hills around the area, so I think I'll try to avoid those when trying to reach the 20 minutes running
  • Here are a couple of more: http://gonicoleyourself.blogspot.com/2008/06/couch-to-5k-podcast-page.html http://www.djsteveboy.com/1day25k.html You can Google for some more  I myself use Nicole's podcasts and I'm extremely happy with them. Actually, I think I need to get the 5.3 podcast into my MP3 player right now…
  • Looks like a fun challenge! I tried it today after my C25K run and 8 min abs workout, and I held it for 1:10. So... the only way is up! I'll get better at this
  • lettuceb, You can do it! tttthumper, Congrats on starting the week 3 :flowerforyou: chrissyh, You don't have much left! Only two to go, wow  It's so nice to have this support here. I think the last run of the week 5 will be hard for me but I will try. Actually, I told myself that it's ok to have only 15 mins…
  • I just love cottage cheese! I have 2% fat cottage cheese like all the time, haha. If I'm craving for something, I might have a spoonful or two of it. When I have dinner, I always have it on the side of my plate, right next to sallad  In the mornings, I usually have a slice of rye bread (at least 10% fiber),…
  • The sugar levels that MFP sets for you are rather low, I think. My line is at 33, and I go over it almost daily - mostly because of fruit and milk.. Like, if I have a cup of milk (makes 10), a pear (16) and a banana (14), I'm already over.. However, in Finland there are GDA notes on products, based on 2000 calories daily…
  • Yay, Nicole's site is back  So, I downloaded all podcasts for Week 5 right away. I'll be starting the fifth week on Monday, I think.
  • Noooo! :noway: I just went to Nicole's blog (Go Nicole Yourself) and I cannot read it since I'm not an invited reader!! How am I going to download the podcast for Week 5 now? Does anyone have the link to the downloads or something? I need her podcasts, lol. PS. Some good news - Week 4 finished
  • Haha, so why don't we go and finish our Week 4's tomorrow? That's what I will do. Tomorrow morning before going to work I will be doing the last run of Week 4. I just checked the running program again and I'm SCARED of next week  20 mins jogging?? Me?! Btw, Chrissyh, your message was SO positive…
  • From 18 to 55.. I suppose that means I'm the youngest one, haha  Anyway, I must say I'm liking this program so much! Tomorrow morning will be Week 4, Day 2 for me
  • Hey hey, Fun to hear that you enjoy the site and want your mother to join as well  I'm from Finland myself so English isn't my native language. As far as the language is concerned, I haven't had any trouble with that. However, sometimes it's difficult to track what I eat since there aren't many Finnish products in…
  • And now I need to comment on this! You guys should come to Finland, haha. Here Kati is rather popular a name  I'll complete week 3 today!
  • 18:26, or 6:26 PM  Greetings from Finland
