Hey, I'm a long term vegetarian who went pescetarian about a year back, and I've lost 43 lbs so far. In terms of limiting carbs I went with a 40/30/30 macro split fairly early on in and it's worked well for me, though it can be tough to hit my protein target without a protein shake & even tougher without some fish in the…

So two scientists walk into a bar. The first says"Can I get a H 2 O?", and drinks it down. The second says "Can I get a H 2 O too?", drinks it down, and dies. I'm *that* nerdy & bad joke telling. Gleben.

Did he force you to eat at gunpoint? Did he use emotional blackmail? Or did you simply end up in a few situations where it is easy to make a few bad choices? It's your body & your journey, no one else can do it for you. You are going to end up in situations like that again. Take those good decisions you made & make more of…

Then you don't know what your calorie intake per day is. Weigh & log everything, avoid too much sodium, try to hit your macros, & make sure you don't eat too little to stay healthy.

I haven't used it myself but the Higdon Novice 2 Marathon App might suit you if you have an iPhone. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hal-higdon-marathon-training/id485501222?mt=8 Hal's training plans are very well regarded, and the iPhone apps get very positive reviews. Steer clear of it on Android though as it's a buggy…

My first ever 5k time was 25 minutes and some spare change, run about 5 years ago. I felt like my eyes were going to explode out of my head when I was done! Now, at 35, I've just started back running after a 3 year break from rupturing two ligaments and tearing the meniscus in my right knee. I've done 5 timed 5ks over 2…

That's hilarious *and* awesome (I'm a scientist slowly becoming fit-as-frak btw). Have a gif of thanks.

Firstly, how low carb are you trying to go? Are you going 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat, or Atkins, or Paleo or something else? Make sure you have clear targets regardless. Secondly, whichever diet you're going with, it will help enormously to alter your macro targets on here to reflect it. Thirdly, you've got to treat…

I just started maintenance yesterday & it's a bit scary alright. I'm going to slowly up my calories without eating back exercise cals for now & see where my real maintenance level is. Ideally it'll get to the stage where I don't have to monitor everything every day, and it'll all come from habit. And I thought the hard…

Popcorn gif in waiting for reaction to your unnecessarily harsh & potentially negative diet choices. You're talking about netting less than 1200 per day after exercise which is, I believe, classified as a very low calorie diet and is against the terms of the community guidelines. It's not safe or sustainable, and there are…
