  • Not vegan, but I am tempted to try this!
  • I was kind of hoping for a magical 50-calorie recipe for Cadbury Creme, but this is pretty awesome too.
  • Mine too! I shall not stop until I too can sparkle.
  • As mentioned by many others, cooking in batches and tupperware-ing it helps immensely with saving time! Crock pot recipes are particularly easy and usually last for several meals - sometimes a week's worth if you're eating it yourself! Which gives me more time for geeky hobbies like gaming and anime, haha. I also find that…
  • Not yet, but I'm planning to see one in a few months! I have several MFP friends I'd love to meet.
  • If I were only to eat McDonald's for six months I'd probably lose a lot too. Mostly by losing the will to eat.
  • This guy is awesome. And he has impeccable taste in profile pictures!
  • Seeing as many workers can only make a livable wage (or effectively any wage at all) off of tips, I consider it a social obligation to tip for restaurants and food delivery... usually 20%. A little more for being totally awesome. 15% for unusually bad service. I think I've only not left a tip twice, and those were after…
  • Congratulations, Gypsy! Very well-deserved recognition.
  • Another History major here with a BA. I pursued history partially because it had been a weak point in my education, and I still feel as though I should know an awful lot more about it than I do, but I don't regret the decision at all. A BA in History is obviously not likely to ever land me a job in the field, but as others…
  • I see one Pumpkin Pie Baked Oatmeal recipe already, but I'll put the one I've been using here. Made it twice already this year, and I plan to make it again. I split it into 8 servings of 193 calories. Baked Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal: Ingredients 1 (15 oz.) can pumpkin purée ½ cup brown sugar 2 large eggs 2-3 tsp pumpkin pie…
  • I've used that machine, and I've found it can be hard to get the right angle and "balance" of movement down. One thing you might try is physically pressing your fingers onto the glute muscle on the side of the leg being worked to help with concentrating on it. If you can't feel the glutes being worked, move your legs and…
  • Not in MT, but the caber toss is an awesome sport! Actually, pretty much everything at highland games are amazing. I don't usually like sports, but there's something about people wearing kilts and throwing around heavy objects.
  • Are these really the 2013 awards? I'm pretty sure I heard most of these several years ago....
  • If you don' t want to sweeten it, try steeping it for less time. Green tea is usually very oversteeped. For a typical cup of tea, 30 seconds is enough... any more and the bitterness will set in.
  • The best advice I can give would be to get up about an hour earlier and go somewhere that you can relax alone. You just need to take the time to start the day off right. slow and unhurried. Make a cup of tea, put on some ambient music if you prefer... just start things out without rushing, and when you feel like…
  • That is good news, both for Vietnam and the East Asian countries! I forget about how much Korean influence is hitting global pop culture, but it's encouraging to hear that it's really penetrating.
  • Whoops! I meant NOT from people whose opinions I respect... silly language with its negatives. So it's not nearly as bad, just... humiliating? And while I don't respect their opinions on the matter either, my family has never given my the impression that they approve of anime, and families tend to feel a little too free in…
  • At times, yes, people do judge you for it. Now, I find that the people who will go so far as to actually make negative comments about it are generally people whose opinions I respect, but not all of us are to the point that we can just choose to not care if crappy people judge us. I know I'm not. Most people tend to work…
  • I log my spices, more for reference than anything else. Honestly, though, with dried spices, the calorie difference is in the single digits, and with the exception of salt, the spices only seem to add trace amounts of sodium, potassium, and carbs. Not really a big deal to not log them.
  • Always off in the house... drives me nuts wearing shoes indoors. When I can do without them, they're off outside as well.
  • It's really an injustice to place one episode above the rest, but for me, my most fond memories are of Jaynestown... Jayne was simultaneously my favorite and least favorite Serenity crew member, so that episode was extra-special.
  • Wow, I hadn't even realized that! That's amazing. I think there's the occasional main character who sits in the third row from the front and one column to the right from the center (the windows seem to be on the right most of the time), but maybe I'm thinking of supporting characters.
  • You know, I think I'll try Aku no Hana just because of your description there. The synopsis sounded less than captivating to me (the plot just seems more convenient and melodramatic than anything), but if your reaction to it was that good, then it's definitely worth a try. (and as an added bonus, if I like it I get to…
  • If you're talking about the sweet drink that often comes in green bottles from Korea with gelatinous aloe vera chunks in it... I doubt it's even remotely healthy, but it IS delicious.
  • I've personally found that the shows with the most effective comedy could generally also be considered other genres... drama, for instance. Comedy is hard to keep funny for long on its own, although there are some shows which manage it. On the more seinen/shounen ("male") side I would mention: Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei…
  • Like many others are mentioning, probably my greatest feat was playing Contra and beating the game without dying even once... and then playing it again on the more difficult second playthrough, and beating it AGAIN without dying. And the game does indeed get progressively harder on the third playthrough as well, but my…
  • Ugh, moe. You're right. There's nothing wrong with it, but why is it fan-enforced standard? I enjoyed Haruhi, but I always felt that its particular emphasis on moe really damaged the industry. Though I suppose every "era" of anime has a few such titles which define it more than they should. Speaking of moe expectations:…
  • I second this! Unfortunately, Umineko was just terrible for the first couple of episodes, and I think that doomed its ratings early on. :/
  • Shingeki no Kyojin is probably the one I'm most looking forward to as well. Another Higurashi addition seems to be slated sometime this month (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kaku: Outbreak), so I'm pretty interested in that. And then there's Devil Survivor 2 (part of the Shin Megami Tensei/Persona line, and oddly enough not a…
