Rained most of the weekend here in Okinawa, Japan. Kids had fun, even at the beach in overcast weather.

Thank you so much!

Could not keep my exercise goal for this week. I'm in a class and my whole routine is thrown off!!! Is it reasonable to say, "Start back on the routine the instant class ends on Friday!" Did not get to run at all this week. Should I try to work out 2x/day next week to make up for this week?

Really impressive. I weighed in today at home around 4:30 am: 183, by 4pm at the doctor's office I was 186....dunno. Goal for this week is 4 days of running. 30 min minimum. First goal weight is 175, ultimate is 165. After 2 kids, the challenge is real.

I'm in! Go ahead and add me to your mail string. I'm supposed to be around 1300-1400 cal/day. Often I go over....I suspect this is too low. What do you think?

I am open to hearing what others have to say on this topic. I too am seriously struggling and often wonder "will I have to be so calorie restrictive forever?" Not seeing a lot of results right now....getting discouraged.

Congrats! I told myself I was giving up dairy and white bread but gave into 1 time per week.....you've motivated me to do it for "real." I will definitely support you! Friend me if you want to.

I guess if you make it at home you have some control of how much oil/salt etc is in it.

Don't get too upset. By the time you wen to the doc you had probably eaten, held your bladder, whatever. Pick one scale and only weigh in on that one.
-
If that's you in the photo, good going! Try not to eat after say 10pm. I know it is hard, been there...the good news is that finals are not forever and you can get back to your routine when they are done.

Still just getting started, only lost my boobs....the booty and thighs ain't budged. Plus, the post c-section belly is resistant as all heck! Thanks for being encouraging :)

So many encouraging posts. I just want to tell you you are not alone. Try to remove all the tempting foods from your house (snack foods). That way you'd actually have to get up and cook something late at night. Good luck and I am proud of you for trying so far.

Agree.

Ok...I nursed both my girls and was under a ridiculous amount of stress to get the weight off at 6 months postpartum. There is no easy way. I did not have the success you described with weight loss while nursing. My "selective" infants would have nothing to do with milk after I ran or "worked out." What did work is after I…

Pick some small goals for the week then build on that.

I'm also in the medical fiedl and I agree with everyone: it is really hard. Unfortunately we all know the negative effects, yet and still when you are finally done with a long day, and a house full of kids awaits, it is so tempting to skip the run/gym whatever and go home and eat all the comfort food you'd fix for them.…

You'd probably be safer if you just went without dairy or sugar or something like that for a short while.

Naw, you are good. I too was pretty de-motivated last week. But, I put a clock on it and just said, "Sunday, enough...get back to the business of trying to loose weight and be fit." Will see how motivated. Please stay encouraged.

Agreed!
