  • I'm 5'8 and 169lbs. I walk 40 minutes a day and do 30DS. I eat around 1500 calories M-F, closer to 2000 on weekends. I lose around a pound a week. It sounds like we are close in stats and exercise levels. My diary is open but I'm not great at logging all my food intake, especially on weekends. Feel free to browse through…
  • I was just thinking this exact same question about my son. He's 13, 5'4 and 140lbs. He's on the heavier side of things. He doesn't do sports at all. Which is fine except I think he is really missing out by not being part of a scheduled activity. He does ride his bike and walk but I was thinking about having him work out…
  • Do I support breastfeeding: Yes Do I support bottlefeeding: Yes Do I support breastfeeding until toddler or older: Yes, whatever works for you and your child! Should you breastfeeding your child affect me in anyway: No, it's between you and your child (and maybe spouse and family) Should you bottlefeeding your child affect…
  • I'm 5'8 and currently 170. I eat 1500-1700 calories a day M-F, weekends probably at least 2000. I usually burn about 400 calories a day on exercise. This has worked for me over the past couple months. I lose 1-1.5lbs per week. I think my plan falls somewhere in between the eat more to lose people and the eat less to lose…
  • I am on the 2nd time through 30DS. I have experienced no knee problems. I am very familiar with the move you are talking about though and I think it is an awkward move that could easily be done in poor form which in turn may cause a knee problem. Obviously I can't see you do it so I have no idea what your form is like.…
  • Just move. It is a shock(or was to me anyway) that the soreness actually dulls down when you are doing 30DS. By day 4 or so the soreness will subside altogether. We all lived to tell the tale and you will too! Advil and aspercreme were definitely a part of my life during those first few days. You can do it!!
  • Papa Murphy's DeLite Pizza. Best "diet" pizza ever! Ok, it's really not diet pizza. Super thin crispy crust. A large pepperoni has 427 calories for a quarter of the pizza, which isn't bad for pizza. You will definitely need a big salad with it though because the paper thin crust is not very filling but it is delicious!
  • Wow! I have NEVER had these problems with Aldi's! My Aldi's fruit is awesome, just like the veggies. What a bummer. Must be a regional thing. :( Sams club also has good fruit at a decent price but it's in bulk, which can be way too much for some. I have a Sams Club buddy so we buy the bulk fruit and then split it.
  • I also swear by Aldi's their fresh produce is excellent and hands down the best prices around. This weeks ad: Baby carrots: $.49 Cucumbers: $.25 Grape Tomatoes: $.79 Iceberg Salad Mix: $.49 Mushrooms: $.79 4 Pack Multi Colored Peppers: $1.69 If that isn't enough convincing, I don't know what is. I also watch for sales and…
  • I want a Yonanas machine sooooooo freakin bad! 2lbs to go and this will be my reward.
  • Do a search on loose skin or sagging skin and see the hundreds of threads with thousands of replies that are all from people who are right there with you. Chances are, some of the people you know who's bodies you are envious of are also afflicted by this. But can they even do a plank? We all know you CAN!
  • I just found this and I love it! So, some things you should know: 1. If you are expecting it to be exactly like peanut butter, you will be disappointed 2. It still tastes a lot like peanut butter despite point #1 3. The consistency is a little strange, you might have to experiment on how much or little water to add to get…

  • I'm on second round of 30DS and have increased my hand weights. I wish I would have measured before starting it the first time. I know I lost a bunch of inches! It definitely gets results! I did each level 10 days but others I know did less or more. Move on when you are ready. Even Jillian says the name "30 Day Shred" was…
  • Cedar Rapids representing here!
  • I'm 5'8, my starting weight was 188. Current weight is 172. Goal weight is 160. I have medium to large frame. I have been down as low as 145 before which I think was a little too low, my collar bones and ribs were starting to be prominent. After reading everyone's goals, I feel like 160 is a realistic and obtainable…
  • Some people are drinkers and some people are not. Please don't be discouraged by those who say you have to give it up altogether, you absolutely don't. My boyfriend and I go out at least 1 night per weekend. Here is what I try to stick to: Pre drinking: Eat extra healthy, vitamin rich, low cal meals so that I have some…
  • Double bump. I agree it's a good question. I'm close to maintenance also, would be good to know how to effectively maintain.
  • A girl I work with was recently put on this. She was thin to begin with but now she looks like a walking skeleton. Waaaaaay to skinny. She thinks she looks good though, so there's that. *shrug*
  • First time through I did 10 days per level with Sundays off. I'm going through it again and increasing my hand weights from 3 to 5lbs. Doing each level 5 days with Sat and Sun off, then repeat. I definitely lost inches but didn't measure myself when I started. I lost about 8lbs during my first round. I don't have a HRM but…
  • This^^ I'm a pear. My weight is in my hips and thighs. I lose weight and my middle keeps getting smaller but my pants size stays the same. C'est la vie. Such is life. You are losing which is a battle in itself. You might want to try weight lifting and toning if you aren't already. You may just have to accept that chipping…
  • I log 30DS as 200 calories also. In addition, I usually walk during my morning and afternoon breaks at work so that adds 40 min of walking at 3mph pace. I'm also losing faster than MFP says I should. I don't consider myself to be working out excessive (compared to many on this site my daily workout is minimal) and I'm…
  • I finished all 3 levels and decided to go back through all levels with heavier weights. I can't believe it but my muscles are sore again first couple days of level 1! Not like it was the first time, but still noticeable. Oh yeah and I still can't do both rounds of push ups Natalie style! I'm up to doing about 10 push ups…
  • Omigosh! This is something I think about all the time.... I really like mornings. My workout is done and over first thing, all other calorie expenditures are a bonus. I feel energized the rest of the day. I never have another obligation pop up that prevents me from completing my workout HOWEVER, I hate, hate, hate getting…
  • It kills me when I see that people have burnt over 1000 calories in a day by doing activities like Fishing, Housework, Gardening, etc, etc. I tend to think that people who are counting those types of activities are probably grossly over estimating how many calories they are "exercising" off. I don't think of any of those…
  • I would consider it to be more strength than cardio.
  • I have completed 30DS. I do it 6 days a week with Sundays as my day off. It's true you should give your muscles a day off when you do heavy lifting and completely burn out the muscle group. You are NOT doing that with 30DS. Keeping at it every day or alternating it with cardio days is most likely fine. My first time…
  • Your co worker is a shallow beotch. I think I could write a mini novel on this subject, but I'll just leave it at that.
  • There is a Ripped in 30 support group for those who recently finished the 30DS and are moving on... Check it out! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/5092-ripped-in-30-support-group P.S. I haven't started Ripped in 30 yet so I don't have anything to tell you about if I like it or not.
  • I just finished level 3. I noticed the most difference at the end of level 2. I can't really say if it was actually that level or just the fact that I had stayed on track for 3 weeks. I can tell you that others started commenting on the difference during level 3(yay!). Whatever way you slice it, the 30DS works. I'm going…
