Chest exercises helped me a lot! I lost 90 pounds and went from a 38D to 34B in about 2 years. When I started to do exercises like push ups, chest flies, and chest presses, I could definitely see a difference. My breasts sat higher up on my chest and appeared perkier. It takes some work but from my experience it is…

I swear by Jillian Michaels DVDs. I've used almost all of them & love the results. Like you, I used to spend most of my time doing cardio. I never picked up a weight before JM's DVDs, but now I'm obsessed. You tried 30DS & didn't like it/it was too difficult, which I totally understand. For a beginner, I would recommend…

It totally depends! I've plateaued a few times and for a few different reasons. The first time that I plateaued, it's because I wasn't measuring food/drinks properly. I was only guesstimating portion sizes, which I thought was good enough. It turns out though, that guesstimating portions can sometimes add, like, 500…

I would love to be a part of this! Sounds great!

Maybe you aren't eating enough? I know that eating more seems like the opposite of what you should do, but if you are eating 1200 calories, working out, & not eating back what you burn, your body may not be getting enough food. I plateaued when I was eating 1200 calories, too. I bumped it up to around 1400-1600 per day to…

It's a little bit more of an investment in terms of cost, but I'm obsessed with Jillian's Body Revolution. Like you, I started with 30DS & loved it so much, but it got boring really quickly for me. Body Revolution has 15 different DVDs and comes with a set of resistance cords. I finished BR for the first time and…

I live in New England and during winter I replace my running with circuit training DVDs at home. I love Jillian Michael's routines (30 Day Shred, Body Revolution, Extreme Shed & Shred). They incorporate strength training but have cardio intervals, and I find that the circuits keep up my endurance so that when spring time…

I usually have 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt with some honey and a 1/2 cup of blueberries. It's delicious and filling without being too heavy. I luckily don't have to have breakfast on the go so I make it every morning, but I suppose to make it easier you could put pre-measured portions in tupperware for the week.

I did Weight Watchers Online when I first started losing weight (lost about 40 pounds with it) & then a friend recommended I switch to MFP once WW stopped working for me. WW was a great way to start, and my experience with the community was great. Only thing is that they allow you free veggies & fruits (with the exception…

KCals & calories are the same nutritionally speaking. The "kcal" is used mostly in Europe, I think. 74.12 calories = 74.12 kcal. The only way to correctly calculate calories burned for dance games/Zumba is to use a heart rate monitor. A HRM will correctly calculate the calories burned according to your heart beat and body…

I love my Polar FT4. It keeps time, heart rate, & calories burned. It's really simple to use, easy to maintain, & thus far has been really accurate.

Great work! I think the last 10 pounds were the hardest for me. Don't lose sight of your goals, you are so close!!

I lost the first 60 of the 100 pounds that I've lost without exercise. If you stay under your daily calorie allotment you should be fine. Obviously exercise would only help you out. Working out adds a whole other level of fitness that you can't achieve with dieting alone. Dieting made me thinner, but exercise made it…

Totally agree on this one! I would get the low cal minestrone soup as an entree and figured that a plate of salad and a breadstick along with it would make for a hearty & healthy restaurant meal...NOPE!

I know for me weight loss has caused me to care a lot more about my looks in general, which I guess could be perceived as "vanity." I used to just walk out of the house in sweatpants and hoodies, not caring at all. For a year straight I wore baggy dresses with leggings because I thought I was too fat to wear jeans. -98…

I was probably obese before I knew what obesity was. As a kid, my Big Fat Italian family fed me anything and everything all the time. Our family time always revolved around food. I knew I wasn't as skinny as other kids in school and I knew I wasn't as physically fit as they were, but I had no means of controlling it. It…

I bought my Weight Watcher's digital scale a few years ago & it has been incredibly accurate ever since. It's always consistent for me (I weigh myself at least once a day, sometimes multiple points during the day). I went to the doctor's for a physical appointment & the scale there registered me at the same weight as the…

I think it totally depends on how much support you personally need. I lift weights & do core/strength calisthenics barefoot but I hate doing cardio barefoot.

I normally pre-log my meals because I usually have them planned out ahead of time. I log as I go when it comes to snacks.

I'll be 20 in November. I'll send you a request :) Anyone else feel free to add me!

I don't consider days when I eat above my calorie limit "cheat days" because I'm trying to change my lifestyle. I don't schedule days (I know some people will have one cheat day a week) but if my boyfriend asks me out to a restaurant or if I am attending a graduation/birthday party, I'm not afraid to go a little over. For…
