I am no expert but I do see a trainer and he tells me to weight train before cardio. I do a lot of HIIT workouts which he always starts me with weights vs cardio. My understanding is the strength training increases calorie burn over a longer period but again Iam not an expert.

Question for you. Are you drinking a lot of water during the day? I notice if I don't drink enough water during the day my runs are so bad and I am way exhausted and tired. You may also want to try eating a banana before your run if you don't have anything in your stomach. And lastly, it is 99% a mental game. I play games…

Thanks. I am at 145lbs now and would like to get down to 130lbs. I started at 154lbs, so I made some progress this past year but not as much as I would like.

Yes, I am eating back my calories to ensure I getting at least 1200 calories after working out. I actually just went through the Insanity program's diet book and redid my calories based on my age, weight, height, etc. and it says I should be eating 1475 a day. So, I am going to follow that and see how it goes. I lost 12lbs…

Either skip the TV time or workout while you watch TV I usually will put a workout video on my laptop and put that in front of the TV and do the video while I watch TV.

I just had to see if I could actually hold the plank position for 60 seconds and I can! With a bit of shaking I did it. My fitness goals are to: Finish my 5k to 10k program and actually run over 6 miles. On Week 2 Day 2 tonight. Hold plank for 3 minutes. Workout 5 times a week. 3 cardio days and 2 weight lifting days. Stop…

I have always heard that you should walk around in new running shoes a few days before you actually run, so they can form to your feet a little bit. Not sure if this is true, but worth a try. Or call the store and ask them about it.

I have a HRM and weight 146 and am 5'3" and last night I burned 275 calories doing level 1 of the 30 DS. The reason I may have burned so much is because right before this I ran for 20 minutes and calculated that separately, but my heart rate was up to begin with.

None! My son it too old to trick or treat and I didn't hand out candy because of being at school. Also, I am not a candy person. I will take salty treats over sweets any day.

I kind of did the same thing. I started C25K being able to run a full mile without stopping. I actually started from the very beginning and was glad I did. I am up to running 40 minutes straight without stopping and just looked into the 5k-10k program to increase my length.

Okay I have a question to go along with the main one. Are you all just doing the 30 day shred by itself or are you adding in more cardio and weights? Could that also be a reason why you are not losing a lot of weight with the program? Most people I talk to say it is definitely more inches lost than weight but wasn't sure…

Seems like he would be a nice guy.

I hate running but I love the feeling after I am done, so I keep running!
-
Why don't you try doing the 5k to 10k program? It is just like couch to 5k but gets you running a 10k in 6 weeks I think.

That's one of my favorites. That is after the Warrior Dash run!
