I am 5'7''. MPF gave me 1460 I believe when I first started, but then I started researching the BMR thing and thought OMG I can eat an extra 500 calories a day and still lose! My mind got all scrambled and I've seemed to lose my initial focus on the calories I need.

I've seen the whole BMR thing so much while cruising the forums that I figured that concept was common knowledge in the diet world and eating below it would be detrimental. Thank you for the advice!

I will definitely check that out; not the first time i've heard about that. Thank you for your advice!

alright, i did that and it bumped me up to a TDEE of 2739. sounds a little better. should i still be eating above my BMR or slightly below, which is what scooby advised?

i cover my chicken in egg whites (used to use butter..and i wonder why i'm fat) and bread them in mashed potato flakes mixed with a little parm cheese and salt/pepper. bake at 400 for about 20 minutes, should comes out flaky on outside moist on inside. so yummy and makes me feel like i'm having a side of mashed potatoes…

i worked at mcdonalds for 2 years when i was in highschool and gained about 50lbs due to poor judgement, plus lack of knowledge about nutrition all together. the temptation is ridiculous, especially since my store let you eat whatever you wanted on break and you could make your own outrageous concoctions. ugh. but as…

well of course people are going to question the amount you burn...you're asking for weight loss advice. there's only two things to question;calories in and calories out. lolol

i am also morbidly obese. i had to do two weeks of my OWN jogging/walking program to even work up to W1D1 of c25k. i also had to repeat the first week because i was not ready to move onto week 2. i took it slowly, modified my running technique so shin splints/hip pain did not hinder me, and now i'm progressing just fine.…

I have wondered this too! Was thinking of purchasing a heart rate monitor of my own, but its not a necessity so it's hard for me to put out the money. i'm a cheap-o :)
-
Thank you all! I am going to try my hand at week 2 tonight, since I've repeated week 1 twice, and see how I feel. gives me motivation that i'm the fattest person on the treadmills :p

I just read that going by 85% of your heart rate, which would be 168 for me, is best for weight loss. not sure if that is true so that's why I was torn.

luckily for me, my hobby is a winter sport; hunting. it can get exhausting. i usually dont venture out when it gets very cold, usually in the beginning of january (NE Ohio), so then i just frequent the gym. and if the roads are horrible, (again, NE Ohio), i run up and down my steps. up x5, down x5, rest and repeat! i get…
