Protein shakes are great...they fill you up and give you energy for your workouts...just make sure the one you use is not high in sugar (many are) also protein from whey is very easy for your body to use. These are best to be consumed after a workout as they help you rebuild the muscle after you have broken it down during…

I would probably enter walking carrying a 15 lb infant or walking with dog to calculate that. both take into consideration that there is extra effort on the walk

I did find the list of links for newbies on the general weight lost catagory right after I read your previous post. However, if the there was an area specific for "newbies", like me, to be directed to these posts which contain this specific information at the very beginning I would have felt a much better sense of…

But he also says that some of that fat stored is harder to get to when you do not have a lot of extra fat on your body, it gets harder and harder for the body to convert that fat as "quickly" and therefore it will burn the muscle before taking the time to convert the fat into a burnable substance and therefore it will take…

Hey Lucky, I just did and then I BUMPED the post because I think everone needs to read it!!!!! We have all learned that we have to burn off more than we consume. However, we do not realized how much the body needs to just function normally on a day to day basis. Then when we add extreme exercise programs on top of that....…

Wish I would have read this at the beginning. Can't it be set up as something to read for beginners. Maybe in the introduce yourself section...All Beginners Read this First!!!. Truly would have made much more sense and I would have understood more about spreading my meals out as well as not limitimg carbs but positioning…

Mac Madame, Thank you for taking the time to enter all the information on the use of calories. I was so confused by the extra calories I had at the end of the day when I entered my exercise and food for the day. I was trying to eat the recommended 1200 calories for the day then after entering my food and exercise for the…

I love the Titan Bars. I cut each one up into three pieces and rebag. That is 109 calories, 9grams of protein, any flavor taste excellent. Great recovery food as well.

I would have to agree with aprilvet and add weight training to your excercise. The only way to truly increase your metabolism, even while sleeping, is to increase your muscle mass. Muscle burns the fat and sculpts the body. So those love handles we are all suffering from will melt away not just become proportionately…

I know you are disappointed but it is only one day, dont make a habit of it and get back on track tomorrow. Besides I believe what we do and consume averages out over a period of time...one day does not ruin your progress.

Wow look what I found.. Men's Health Hope this helps all those looking. If you work out seriously, whether it's running, weightlifting or any other intense sport, you have to make sure that you're giving your body the fuel and nutrients it needs to recover adequately from the effort. After a workout, your body's stores of…

We all get distracted, or just simply blow now and then...just get back in the game and all will not be lost. Beating yourself up will only cause frustration and demotivate you.

That looks better!! Thank you for the help!!

I will look into it!! Thank You!!

I know, its not like we are not burning calories lifting weights, and by building muscle we are burning calories, so I am confused.
