I had tried the Bob Harper Go Fit gravity straps for $40. Turns out the hand grips are hard rubber, which are not very comfortable at all. And the strap adjusters are at the top, which for me (I'm 4'9") is not good at all! I paid $160 for my TRX straps at Amazon. That seems to be the going price; but I think they are worth…

Simply awesome! Congratulations on your hard work!

If it happens I'll be really ticked that I did all this work to lose weight!!!!!

Whenever I go up or down stairs I count them!

Hi; I'm 59, and about halfway to my goal. Feel free to add me!

A leather jacket! I've always wanted one, but didn't want to spend the money if it didn't look good, or my size was going to change (up or down)!!! :glasses:

Everyone's weight loss shows up differently. It also has a lot to do with clothing: I've lost 25 lbs. and in some items i'm down 1 or 2 sizes, but in others i'm still the same size. Pants are the worst: I have a larger waist, and I've lost a lot in the hip area, but not as much in the waist. So getting pants to fit in a…

Star Wars... but I do love Capt. Picard!!! Also, Firefly is great!

When we lose power, we also lose our well. So not only no water, also no flushes, and well, you get the picture! So we fill barrels of water to bring in buckets as needed for flushing, freezer packs for helping to keep the fridge cold, and flashlights around the house. Also, every electronic device is fully charged to help…

My feet had better not get smaller! I wear a ladies size 4 1/2 now! I can't find shoes easily as it is! :frown:

I have had RLS all my life, even as a child! And my father's whole side of the family had it, too. I was never diagnosed, but I didn't need to be! My doctor agrees that RLS is what I have; the symptoms are classic. I find that it's often worse when I am very tired and/or stressed. If it starts while I am sitting up…

I have the same shape, but add to that I am only 4'9", so everything (including petite sizes) is way too long! It throws off the whole fit of a piece of clothing! I want to visit a tailor but I prefer to wait until I lose most of my weight (don't want to spend all the money for something that is hopefully a temporary…

We felt it in SE Mass! Thought it was a huge wind gust rattling the house, but we kind of knew it felt different from a wind gust! We didn't know it was a quake until people starting posting about it! :noway:

4'9" here! :flowerforyou:

I've been wondering about that machine also; can't wait to see what people think!

Thanks, everyone, for your replies! We've tried all the easy fixes: unplugging it, de-scaling, smacking it (which usually works). My husband even took it apart and cleaned out all the interior parts which could be clogged. Nothing! So we're pricing new ones and thinking about whether or not we should try returning it or…

If you are a shorter woman (close to 5' or less), you could go down to 1100. I am doing this (with my doctor's approval), and am losing a pound most weeks, sometimes a little more, sometimes less. You can eat quite a lot for 1100 if you choose wisely. I up my calories on the weekends so my body doesn't get stuck at one…

My husband is 60 and has done 3 centuries so far this year! Again, it's never too late!

I'm 59; have never been super athletic or active. But now I do TRX workouts 3x per week, and walk or work around the house other days. I knew I was losing a lot of inches, but it wasn't until I did a fundraising walk a couple of weeks ago that I realized that my general fitness is also much better. After I finished the…

My feet better not get smaller! I am already a size 4.5!!!!

I know what you're talking about...I go off my plan just a little on the weekends, and by Monday I'm up 2 pounds! It takes me most of the week to get that off, so I'm lucky to average a 1 pound loss every week. When I look at my Fitbit stats, it looks like I should be losing at least 2 pounds every week! It looks like…

Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement! This site and all the support help a lot!

I plan the night before; that way if I want a certain food for dinner, I can plan my day around it. I am trying to keep a certain percentage of carbs, protein, & fat; so I can't just grab my meals as I go. I don't plan as much on the weekends, as they tend to be more loosely structured.

I've had a Kindle since the very first one came out. I now have a Kindle fire and love that too! My husband uses the first one and I use both the other 2. I use the Fire at the gym on the treadmill; I can either read or watch a video. If you buy a membership to Amazon Prime you can watch hundreds of free videos as long as…

I drove a stick for 30+ years! I only recently got an automatic because I was sick of sitting in traffic and having to shift all the time! (Plus when you are VERY short, as in 4'10", you have to stretch to fully press down the clutch!)

2010 Mini Cooper S (the one with the Turbo!) A Mini for a mini lady (4'10")!!! :glasses:

You could also bring a huge beautiful:happy: salad "because you wanted to contribute to the meal" then have a large portion of that and just a little macaroni.

Hi; I am 4'10" and 59 years old, so I know what you are talking about. Check out the Petite Advantage Diet book by Jim Karas. It's a diet and exercise plan designed especially for short women. I eat 1100 calories most days. If you choose wisely, you can eats lots of food for that amount. I have lost almost 20 pounds at the…

Hi; something I haven't seen mentioned here; I do (TRX) gravity straps workouts at home. All you need is a doorway and your own body weight as resistance! You can buy an expensive or less expensive set. These workouts have done a great deal for me in just a few months, and it only takes about a half hour to do the session.…
