Sounds like the advice is unanimous. Thanks, all. I switched to maintenance today and am giving it a go.

My usual routine is a short 20 min run before lifting weights on Mon, Wed, & Sat. and a 40 min run only on Tues and Thurs.

Lateral lunges are a pain. If you do 3 sets of 10 reps on each side, it's just a boring exercise that takes forever to do.

I'm going after a Ryan Reynolds circa Blade: Trinity era look. That was around the time re really started blasting his abs, but he was a bit thicker up top than he is now. I had a clear idea what I wanted to be like when I started a year and a half ago and that was it. This is a great idea! I even have a folder in my…

how do you attach a picture?

You can't get too much protein. It's the body's building block for muscle. If you take in more than your body can handle (which is a whole lot), it will just leave the body. Don't worry about it.

BTW, that book is available just about anywhere and amazon.com usually has a used copy for next to nothing.

I basically took myself down to bare weight, just because I've never understood the idea of losing 5 lbs of fat but gaining 5 lbs of muscle, etc. I wanted to start from rock bottom and build myself up. My best advice is find a program from a reputable source. If you're working out at home, make sure your program doesn't…

Bump to make later. Thanks!

Gotta go with my wife's favorite...Pink!

I've asked for a weight plate rack, new gloves, and a curl bar. I got compression shorts for my birthday!

Push through it. Get it in your mind that the exercise will make the soreness go away, kind of like scratching an itch. You'll thank yourself later.

I'm a self-confessed cheapskate (I think I've spent maybe $5 in a GNC). I love the Body Fortress products. They're available at Wal-Mart and there's a really good variety so you don't get burned out on one flavor. Also, the Met-Rx Big 100 Colossal Protein Brownies are incredible. 30 grams of protein (calories are around…

For me, anything with soy protein equals gas. I stick to whey protein. A lot of the protein bars are a soy / whey mix.

That's right. An hour post workout is your "magic hour" where your body gets the most benefit. Also, first thing after you get up. Essentially you have been "fasting" for the time you've been asleep. When you drink a protein shake, your body acts like a sponge and soaks it in quickly. Just don't forget a small amount of…

You can't really go over on protein. If you get more than your body can process, it'll just exit the body (trust me, you'll know when you get to that point). 1 gram per pound of body weight is a good estimate for a serious bodybuilding program.

I'm sure there's a wastebasket under all those bottles.

Whey protein, Omega3 Fish Oil, a good Multivitamin and a couple hits of Vitamin C a day, I've even been doubling up on that now that cold & flu season is here. That's about it for me.

Right now it's Pink's "Raise Your Glass", just because it reminds me of my wife. I had the theme to Curb Your Enthusiasm and everyone wanted to know what it was.

I'm loving my treadmill. I want to hug it every time I get off of it. I know a lot of people are crazy about elepticals, but the treadmill just feels more versatile to me.

I drink 52 gr of whey protein 5 days a week, with and additional 30 gr on days I lift. Not really supplements, but I take a multivitamin, 2000 mg of Omega 3 Fish Oil, and a super shot of 2000 mg of vitamin C every day. I took Methyl Ripped Hardcore by NX Labs for a while but it made me jittery, aggressive, and gave me a…

I have never heard of anyone limiting themselves to 400-500 calories a day. Sounds dangerous.

That is amazing! Have a great time on your birthday. You deserve it!

I make sure to know where I'm going beforehand (if at all possible) and look at my choices online. Most of the time that deternines where I go!

I've had the honor of having this guy for a best friend since we met in elementary school. Almost immediately after he began his transformation, I decided to follow suit. He's a big inspiration and I honestly believe I would have quit working out if not for him. For the life of me, I just could not imagine telling him that…

I'm "rebooting" just to keep the game going. How about... Jessica Tandy and Pauly Shore?
