Straight out the can! Alternatively, sardine fishcakes served with rocket and balsamic vinegar, or have them on toasted thin brown bread. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/search/recipes?query=sardines

Daily fruit, usually: Pink grapefruit (breakfast) 1/4 small watermelon 1 Peach 2 Apricots Carrot and cucumber sticks All my colleagues take the P out of me because of my never ending fruit habit, but if you could see the heaps of cakes, biscuits and snacks dotted around the office for various birthdays/occasions you would…

Even though most pickles are not zero calories, they are still exceptionally low. I love pickles and have several jars of different types in the cupboards for me to snack on - I always get hungry about an hour before bed and these are a guilt free snack! Love pickled baby beetroot, onions (the spicier the better!),…

Pork mince, lamb mince, beef mince, turkey mince. W're on a very tight budget our household, and I use mince for everything. I always make burgers, or meatballs - often bulking these out to get more for our money by grating some courgettes into the mix (this also makes them healthier). Mince is the answer to all tasty…

Hi, I've been on MFP since January 2013 and have lost 30lbs. I have gone up and down on the charts over this last 15 months and it is hard to keep the motivation and determination so I know where you're coming from. I've got an overall large event that I'm working towards (my wedding day in August), but that seemed like a…

Thanks very much ladies, it's nice to get some other perspectives. I will keep going at the gym and work harder to achieve the best results - sod the scales!
-
I hadn't thought about it like that - maybe I'm obsessing with the scales and not what my body looks like. I'm fitter than ever before and starting to see some abs coming now. Is it likely I'll naturally end up weighing more than what I would like to be as I'm lifting heavy?
-
Sorry it's huge so half of my diary is missing!!

Good goal to have! I am aiming for 185lbs by March 2014 as that is when I'll be having my wedding dress measurements taken! I am a very visual person, so I've created my own colour coded workout calendar on my computer. I work out 4-5 times a week and it's a mixture of gym machines, weight lifting, yoga, badminton,…

Thank you :) You'll get there - keep plugging away! It's an everlasting roller-coaster with ups and downs, twists and turns but such a wonderful feeling when the hard word pays off. I'd been plateauing for about 3 weeks before I hit ONEderland and was getting very frustrated but just proves that not giving up and keeping…

Butternut squash curry - this has become a delicious regular dinner in my household and I keep adapting it and adding different veggies like cauliflower, spinach etc. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/775642/indian-butternut-squash-curry This is also on the database.

Well done, you have done amazingly well! I love your perspective breakdown, it really does help to see it like that. I often think the same as you, why do people do these "fad" diets when it's a very simple equation (eat less, move more!). In the end the fad diets aren't any good as people deny their bodies of essential…

You shouldn't eat after 6pm. Women lifting weights will make them bulk (I am proof this is not the case and I am a 6ft tall woman, and my body shape and frame keeps getting smaller the more I lift!) The only way to lose weight is to eat salads.

I agree, I watched a programme about this on TV the other night and they were saying that 'exercise alone will not make you lose weight', well of course not, if you're going to the gym for 30 minutes a day and then stuffing your face full of rubbish food for the rest of the day and over eating on cals then the exercise…

Wowzers! You look absolutely stunning - check out those defined thighs! Well done you :)
-
you look incredible! Keep up the hard work - and all in just 4 months! I'm 4lbs away from hitting 2 stone and it's taken me 8 months so far! I hope you don't mind but I've added you.

Love your post! I couldn't agree more, I love food and enjoy eating so I always eat the things I enjoy just in moderation - portion size was my biggest thing and it did take me a long while to settle into eating 'normal' as apposed to gigantic portion sizes but now I don't even have to weigh foods as I know by eye what I…

In glorious East Sussex, feel free to add me!

I'm 6ft tall and started out at 229lbs (UK size 16), I'm now 208lbs and have been plateauing for a few weeks now and I'm between a UK size 12-14. I think my body might be trying to tell me that I've almost reached my healthy target - it's how ever you feel comfortable and there are loads of shops out there that cater for…

I have lost 15lbs since January 2013 through a combination of fewer calories and mostly swimming/walking. Now I've dropped that 15lbs of weight I thought it would be great to get to a decent fitness level and tone up (and hopefully lose a bit more weight). Insanity seemed the perfect choice for me as I am going on holiday…

Thanks, it's great to hear from other tall women :) Well done on your weight loss. It is strange that we still see the same person staring back at us in the mirror, but if others are noticing it is definitely working!! I thought I would post this as I'm the same as you, I can never see the difference, but then I look back…

I started off at 16st 3lb (229lbs) and I'm now 15st (210lbs). I can't wait to get into ONEderland!!

Sorry, picture came out massive! Trying again

I'm 6ft and used to be extremely conscious of my height, I would NEVER wear anything close to a heel, but I would also never stoop to make myself look shorter. I have found that coming from a small UK town where most people are short, you get a lot of attention (mostly unwanted) from people, or you get the "how's the…

Hey! Just added you, but would love for some tall ladies to also add me. I'm 6ft tall and a broad frame. I started my journey at 228lb (16st 4lb) and was edging into a UK size 16 (US size 14). I'm now 215lb and a comfortable UK 14 but would ideally like to get into a comfortable UK 12. For my frame and proportions, I'm not…

Based in Surrey. I'd love to be a size 10, but somehow don't believe it could ever happen. I'm 6ft tall and big boned/broad. I'm aiming for size 12, currently size 14. Good luck with your size 10 mission!

Wowzers! Well done - I would give my right arm to have your waist!
-
Thanks for all your hints and tips - its reassuring to know that everyone starts as a wheezing sweaty mess and its not just me  Your kind words have given me the motivation to get back out there tonight and try again, but this time I'll be listening to my body, breathing correctly and I'll try running on the grass…

Also remember that working out produces muscle, and musle is heavier than fat - so don't get too hung up on the scales, you sound like you are doing fantastically well!
