  • I make a smoothie starting with a cup of juice and 1/2-1 cup of low fat yogurt. Then I add whatever veggies or fruit I happen to have on hand. I find it really filling and gets my daily veggies into me. I like it with an apple, spinach and a banana but have used cauliflower, broccoli and raw carrots.
  • go out and enjoy a shopping day. Try things on. Different brands run different sizes. If you're not ready you can still have fun . Start with your usual size and then a size down.
  • I try to hit my caloric goal every day but it doesn't always happen. I tend to save some for the evenings in case of the "munchies" then when don't feel the need to snack it is difficult to top up my daily total. Add some fruit or a juice. good luck
  • Hi all. My second time around as well. Doing pretty good so far but really look forward to posts from you all. New ideas and a little encouragement go a long way. I go in my treadmill pretty well every day and now it has become a habit. I miss it when I don't go. I have figured out that I love and hate it. hate to get…
  • My name is Barbara. Feel free to add me if you'd like.
  • I knew a woman years ago who was over 300 pounds. She went down to about 170-180. She was about 5'9". Her husband was a small man. As she lost the weight she started getting compliments wherever they went. She admitted that it made her feel good, sexy, desirable, even wanted and appreciated. Her husband began to tell her…
  • You can purchase a ring sizer at the jewellers. It is a piece that fits into the back of your ring making it smaller. Then when you are finished losing you can get them permanently resized
  • Also you can add me as a friend if you want to
  • Welcome!! You've made the first steps by joining here and going for a walk. I too am over 200 pounds and can be self concious about it at times. There are other times I really don't care. But it has to be about what you think and no one else. The compliments are nice but not a necessity.
  • Add me if you want. I am also giving this a second try and so far so good....
  • I am 57 and it is definately harder as we get older. But I want to be able to have fun with the grandchildren and get the most out of my life now I am finished raising children. This site seems to work and moral support is always a good thing. Good luck on your journey
  • Hi there..... I have over 70 to lose and am giving this a real honest try. But it is nice to get supportive messages from others and be able to see what others re doing. Also nice is the recipes.
  • Just had my synthroid increased by 25% and have to have it rechecked in about 6 weeks for another possible increase. I knew it was low as I had zero energy and was freezing all the time. I am hoping that by getting it back to where it should be I will be able to lose a bit more quickly than before.
  • With me it is after supper when the the house is quiet and the rush of the day is over. I guess it is boredom more than anything else. So I save some calories for this time of day and plan ahead what it is that I am going to snack on. Even if you have to prepare your snack during the day when it isn't so hard and cut back…
  • Quitting smoking is VERY important and most people gain weight. For many it is a significant amount. So for the next couple of weeks if you don't lose as fast as you'd hoped, but you don't smoke or gain weight, you have every right to pat yourself on the back and say "job well done." The weigh loss will kick in as you keep…
  • I came back too after the new year. The support /positive remarks are a great help. Please add me if you want.
  • I lost my mother in law years ago and my father in law a few years back.. They brought something special into the lives of those who knew them. (including mine) There is hardly a day that goes by that I don't think of them and miss them.
  • One the plus side .. we get to try new styles as we lose. I agree, I can't afford to replace my clothes every couple months so I go to reuse stores for most things.. but am saving to GO SHOPPING when I get to goal.
  • You can get a ring sizer from a jewellery store. They aren't that expensive and can be used while you lose the weight until you are at your goal weight. then get it resized. These sizers clip inside your ring on the back and reduce the size of the circle. Hope this helps.
  • Not over sixty but getting close.. 56 in October. And you are soooooooooooo right. This is a lot harder now than 30 years ago. I have a long road ahead of me (about 60 pounds) and can use all the support i can get. :) Have a good one and take it one day at a time.
  • I am no expert, but I would say you are not eating enough. I agree with Codergal that 1300 sounds like very little food for someone who has 100 lbs to lose. Make sure there is a lot of fruits, veggies and roughage in you diet. Also, your water intake is vital. If your caloric intake is all soft foods and the like this…
