  • A few years ago I saw a nutrtionalist and they said if you are peeing that much and getting your 8 glasses of water a day then you have a mineral imbalance. She suggested I drink Raseberry Leaf tea to help get my minerals back in balance. It helped and I have found that if I eat a "clean" diet that helps too. So maybe try…
  • wow this looks really good! I'm writing this one down!
  • We all gain weight in different places and the above poster is right, you can lose fat in a specific area. But you can do leg exercises to help build some muscle which will make them thinner. Running is great for the thighs too! But I agree, do some lunges, squats, etc . Those will help your running too.
  • Yes I have it and it's a great read but what I think is even better is Joy's Life Diet. I think BFFM has some great tips but Joy's Life Diet actually draws out a menu for you. Her food is very easy to make and good food to eat. I started it about 2 weeks ago and feel absolutely amazing eating what she suggests.
  • Beachbody girl here! Love P90X - I did a modified version the first time around due to me training for a marathon but this time I'm full on. I'm 3 1/2 weeks away from being done with Round 1. I've lost about 5 pounds and 2% body fat. I'm moving onto ChaLean Extreme next. I too became a coach. My day job is being an…
  • I think it is best to set up a schedule - something you can stick to! If you don't have something written down it's much harder to stick to and you can easily make excuses. I pretty much to the same thing every week so it's easy for me to stick to my plan. That seems to work for me. If that doesn't work for you then sit…
  • I agree! I've been a cardio junky my whole life and started P90X about 2 months ago. I'm on my last 4 weeks. I absolutely love it and feel that it actually compliments my running.
  • I'm thinking about doing ChaLean next. I'm about to finish up with P90X. I heard Chalean will really get you even ripped. Would love to know what you think. Are the workouts set up day by day? How long are the workouts?
  • Diet is very important so try to eat as clean as possible. Little starches for dinner. Have a 5 ounce piece of protienn d a non starchy vegetable for dinner. And like someone else suggested lift some weights. Do not be afraid to lift heavy. Try to do more free weights and not machines. You'll see better results out of free…
  • Do you have the ability to work at home? I found that I'm more likely to do things and stay more on track working out at home. If so I would suggest a Beachbody prodcut to you. They are the makers of Slim in 6, P90, P90X, Turbo Jam, etc. I'm not sure where you are in your fitness level but that would help determine which…
  • If you're going to go over, protein is the place to do it. As long as you are getting your protein from lean sources you should be fine.
  • You can join through Beachbody directly or through a Beachbody Coach like myself or there are a few others on this site as well. My website is below - you can check it out. Let me know if you have any questions.
  • I did use bands in the beginning for pull ups but switched to a pull up bar. My husband had put a pull up bar up so I bought a bench under it to give me some assistance. I can only do 1 chin up  I would suggest that if you use bands you get the bands from Beachbody. I didn't do that and I ended up buying several…
  • Changing up your routine and incorporating some intensity will help. Also when you lift don't be afraid to lift heavy weights. You won't bulk up. I was scared of the same thing a while back. Someone suggested I up the weights and it has really helped. Also, at night try not to eat any starchy vegetables. Stick with non…
  • Wow...20 miles on the treadmill! You're a rockstar. That's some serious dedication. Good luck with your taper. If you feel like crap while tapering, don't let it bother you! It's normal to feel sugglish and tired during that period. What marathon are you doing? Can't wait to hear about your experience.
  • You're right! Scratch everything I said! Denver sucks! Tons of snow and nothing to do.
  • What about Denver? It's great here. People think it's cold and snowy. I'm not going to lie and tell you we don't get snow or cold temps but overall it's beautiful. The sun shines almost every day and if it does snow it's gone within hours. Even if we get lots of snow it melts within a few days. I have done 4 marathons, 3…
  • Chicken tacos with corn tortilla's are a good option! It's the chips and salsa that kill me!
  • I would suggest eating a bigger breakfast! And with dinner try to have very little carbs. If you're going to have carbs you should have veggies (Green beans, celery, carrots, zuchhini, etc) Non starchy type carbs. I'm a believer in having breakfast be the biggest meal of the day. I eat almost 400 calories for breakfast. I…
  • I have yoga tonight so don't get home until 7:00. I'm having 2 morning sausage veggie patties and some edamame. It's only about 300 calories but b/c I get home late I try not to eat too much.
  • Thanks for posting that - I need that reminder! I just adjusted everything about a week ago and haven't seen the scale budge yet - I know it takes more then 7 days for the body to adjust. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll notice the difference.
  • My theory is if it's below the neck then you're fine. I wouldn't go out and do anything really strenous but I am a believer in breaking a little sweat. Sweating helps get toxins out. So do what you normally would do but maybe at an easier level. Don't push it too hard!
  • I am doing P90X as well and love it! I've never gotten these results doing anything else. I tend to have a lot of muscle and put on muscle easy but I haven't not bulked up at all. If you interested in trying it out I would be happy to answer any questions you may have!
  • I've done 4 marthons and would love to offer any advice I've got. I'm doing Austin in February (half marathon) and the Mini marathon in Indianapolis in May. I'm sticking with half marathons for a while but would love to support all of you on your maathon journey.
  • Awesome job! I think it's completely normal to feel a little bit down while training but push through it. And like the guy at the gym said, take your rest weeks seriously! They are so important! I'm so proud of you for pushing through! I can't wait to hear how you feel when you cross that finish line. Which half marathon…
  • Do you have On Demand (Comcast))? They have lots of videos you can do. Including Jillians programs. I think she is awesome. Good job on the weight loss! That's awesome. keep it up!
  • Are you wanting to run the entire 5k or do a run/walk. I think it's feasible if you want to do a run/walk but I agree you don't want to increase your mileage too fast. It will just lead to injury. If you're open to doing a run/walk I would suggest running for 5 min, walking for 1. See how that goes. (this is assuming you…
  • I use it as well and absolutely love it! We have a house cleaner come and she told us that she would prefer to use our products which made me so happy. I'm very particular about that. The Fiberwise bars are good but they contain High Fructose Corn Syrup. Overall I think Melaleuca products are fabulous but definitely check…
  • I do enjoy running but I can totally relate to the treadmill blues!!! When my husband is in town we suck it up and dress warm and head outside but when he's gone I'm stuck with my buddy the treadmill. I found that if I switch up the speed it keeps me motivated. So for example what you could do is: 5 min warm up 2 min at…
  • I have tried so many different types of protein shakes. Some I can't even get down they are so horrible and others are just okay. I was introduced to Beachbody a few months ago through P90X. I started drinking their Shakelogy Drink. OMG, so good. My husband ask me to make him one every morning. It's just the powder, soy…
