  • Polar FT4 is phenomenal. Easy to use, not too pricey, super reliable.
  • Congratulations! You are looking great! Keep up the great work, and thank you SO MUCH for being an inspiration and motivator for those of us with a significant amount of weight to lose. I have a total weight loss goal of 100 lbs, and have gotten just over 20 off. I seem to be stuck at the same weight the past 2 weeks, and…
  • pulled pork. Throw it in the crock pot with a can of ginger ale and some onions. When it's done shred it, place it back in the empty crock pot and add your favorite sauce. If you google slow cooker pulled pork you'll find a bunch of variations.
  • I co-own a Security business with my hubby, work part time at my gym in the huge "Kidz Klub"...think 10,000sqft of chaos! haha, and am a full time MOM! My kids are always with me, so it's essentially working two jobs simultaneously! Wouldn't trade it for the world, though.
  • Great Job! Thanks for the much needed motivation! You look GREAT!
  • I started with 3 45-60 minute workouts a week, and now do 6-7 60-180 minute workouts a week. When I started that was all I had the energy for, now with better eating and pushing myself to the next level, I can go longer and stronger. I also burn more calories now per class, as well. My gym offers TONS of group fitness…
  • Try light breads (I use pepperidge farm light soft wheat or oatmeal - the oatmeal is almost like white bread) and light lunch meat. It's quick and easy. I get dietz and watson gourmet lite turkey breast (they also have ham and chicken versions as well) and make a sandwich with 2 - 3oz of lunch meat. It's less than 150…
  • I used to go through a 12 pack of Diet Coke in 2 days, now I will drink 1 can a day with my lunch. The problem with the soda for me wasn't the calories, but that I'd want something "snacky" with it. The healthiest route you can go is more water. I've replaced all of my soda (except the 1 can) with water and some occasional…
  • Farmers' Markets are a great place to get fresh veggies and fruits (sometimes meats depending on what yours have to offer) for A LOT less! You just have to buy smart! It's doable. I supplement from the grocery store (ours is open on Tuesdays, and one further away on Fridays.) The cost difference is amazing!
  • That has been a HUGE problem for me. I love potato in any form...especially the least healthy ones...lol. I just challenge the will power when I'm at a party and hope there's a veggie tray. I also no longer buy them for the house. For times that I really want some, I eat a couple sour cream and onion mini rice cakes. I…
  • I'm right there with you...if there is one thing I think about eating more than anything else, it's bread. I switched over to pepperidge farm's light breads soft wheat, 7 grain, oatmeal, and Weight watcher's rye. 2 slices of any of those are only 90 calories.
  • I'm also diabetic. When I do a shake (usually it's eggwhite omelettes with hidden veggies) I do a handful of frozen fruit, or a small banana and a couple strawberries, fresh spinach, an activia light yogurt, and some V8.
  • I have the Polar FT4. I LOVE it! It is super simple to use! I love that I don't have to fool around with a thousand different buttons or setting, I programmed it, I update my weight weekly in it, and for my workouts, I put it on, press start and go! So easy!
  • I went from 0 to 60 (seemingly)...I started going to the gym 4 times a week minimum and now am up to 6 times/week. I purchased a food scale and a heart rate monitor so I can accurately track EVERYTHING! I began the first week of April by just calorie counting then by the second week added in the gym. I actually gained a…
  • Mini clif bars (only 100 calories!), fresh fruit and veggies, hard-boiled eggs, light string cheese
  • I'm 25 and have type 1 diabetes. I'm on the verge of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I gained a lot of weight after a complicated pregnancy and had been unable to drop it, so for awhile I just gave up. Finally, I got tired of feeling depressed and tired and knew that if I didn't change my ways for good that I…
  • I like the classic simplicity of rice krispies! lol. I like to add strawberries and/or bananas to mine.
  • I do Les Mils classes at my gym. I love them! I found that I lacked the motivation for just equipment or weights and decided to try one of the "dance" classes. Then I tried a pump class and other cardio and strength classes. I actually look forward to going and find that some days I can't wait! Try some classes out, that…
  • Try eating a bigger breakfast to fuel you through the day and making good choices for what calories you are taking in. Also, make sure you're not drinking juices or other drinks with calories and forgetting to count them.
  • I have the same issue. If I can't ignore it by drinking water or some crystal light, I just eat a couple of hard-boiled eggs w/o the yolks. That usually works for me!
