  • I set weight goals for myself. I said I'd buy a new pair of Nikes (I'd had my eye on a pair for a while) when the scale started with a 1 again. It does! And I love my new shoes! I plan on getting another pair when I hit 160. I also tell everyone and anyone about it, so I feel like I work harder to get there!
  • Feel free to take a look at my diary...I rarely eat 1200 a day, I do find trouble getting there, but I eat A LOT of food. It's all about WHAT you are eating. You cn have a plateful of veggies (or for me, I add them to a shake) for very little calories. I also eat a lot of omelettes; if you use one whole egg and 3 whites,…
  • I get an oatmeal...minus the brown sugar or anything else they put in it.
  • My girls (7 and 3) know I take group classes at the gym including zumba and now every morning they do Kids' yoga and sometimes kids zumba from our On Demand. They love it, and I see nothing wrong with them learning to integrate and enjoy exercise! Maybe there would be a kid friendly version for yours to partake in while…
  • I thought it would be more expensive shopping healthier...turns out it's not if you put it in perspective. I don't buy "snack" food anymore...so in place of that $4 bag of chips I'll get $4 worth of zucchini and make some zucchini chips or lasagna with it which makes for great leftovers. I also buy bnls sknls chicken…

  • After I got pregnant I could no longer eat almonds, cashews, or any type of seafood. I also can't take vitamins or anything with Omega-3 or fish oils added. Almonds were my favorite! :( The allergies have seemingly gotten worse the more time that passes.
  • I do light breads with breakfast or lunch and by dinner I eat protein and veggies. If you're a fan of eggs...I usually eat omelettes for dinner with 1 whole egg, 3 eggwhites, 1 oz reduced fat mozzarella, 1c(sometimes more) baby spinach, and if I'm feeling the craving for bacon, 1 tbsp real bacon pieces. Also, stirfry with…
  • Age 25 Height: 5'3'' SW: 226.8 CW: 199.7 GW: 115-125 I started mid April and am so excited to be down 27 lbs so far! I do find frustrating moments, but today I weighed in with a 1 starting the scale and it made me feel awesome!!!!
  • I just made zucchini "chips" the other day...Delicious! I was craving an "appetizer-like" food. I found a quick recipe for oven baked zucchini chips. Pretty straight forward, slice dip in egg substitute mixed with a little Italian dressing(I used fat free) then lightly bread with italian bread crumbs. You bake them @ 475…

  • I do a small banana, dannon light (80cal) strawberry banana yogurt, 2+ cups of baby spinach, and a 5.5 ounce can of low sodium V8 and sometimes some cucumbers or celery if they're in the fridge.
  • Honestly...you have to make the mental decision to just do it. I still struggle with it from time to time, but have found a couple tricks to help me out. First of all, I will by a six pack of 24 oz water with flip tops and refill the same bottle a couple times from my filter at home...If you drink 3 bottles a day, that's 9…
  • I cut out about 90% of processed foods...I do opt for low sodium choices when I do eat processed foods. I used to retain a significant amount of water, and since cutting out most of that I rarely retain anything. I agree, if you want to do things right, you'll have to make time. It's a challenge, but for me it was…
  • I usually eat eggs of some sort...just the whites. I'll grab 2 hard boiled eggs minus the yolk, or make a quick egg white and spinach omelette. From what I've been told and read, eggs are a great post workout food.
  • I will! I ordered it a couple weeks back, and have been procrastinating...This should motivate me!
  • I hear ya! I've been sticking to my "work out" pants...They are becoming more and more loose, but look decent for the most part. Why spend money on something you'll never use again in a month or two? I have a few favorites in my "normal" wardrobe and when I feel hobo-esque i just tell myself it's an achievement that…
  • I rarely eat more than 1100 calories or so in a day...however, I attribute that to my low calorie choices....I definitely eat A LOT of food, and have been consistently losing at my desired rate. I also almost always meet or exceed my other recommended nutritional values.
  • I have been Diabetic since age 3, so 22 years now. I have found my blood sugar levels to be running tons better with the changes of made to my diet and exercise. I am now taking about 2/3 the amount of insulin that I took about 2 months ago and seeing overall better numbers. However, I am still struggling with my morning…
  • I am down nearly 25 lbs and have lost inches on my chest, but not the cup size...which was a relief!
  • I would recommend using a HRM for all your exercise...depending on how you're feeling or other factors, the same workout can vary a lot as far as how many calories you burn. Also, I bought a digital food scale and now weigh everything. Since I started using the scale and HRM, the weight has been coming off consistently and…
  • Try low impact workouts. Or, maybe a row machine?
  • Walking lunges and squats are good!
  • I hit a group fitness class at the gym. Seems to help until I get home. Honestly, I didn't know what it was really like until after having my daughter. I also take the pill to only have to deal with it 4 times a year. That helps the most. haha.
  • I squeeze half a lemon into mine with LOTS of ice. Sometimes I'll add just a pinch of truvia. Tastes like lemonade!
  • Pay close attention to your sodium intake. Some veggies can cause that, too. Broccoli does for me. Before I started paying attention to my sodium, I was consuming at least 3500mg/day. I average about 1800-2000/day now and have noticed a HUGE difference. I've replaced my salt shaker with Mrs. Dash and Salt-Free McCormick…
  • I have this problem, too. Also, after workouts I am rarely ever hungry. I make smoothies and add extra ice so they stay cold longer and just sip them over an hour period. I throw in a banana, some other type of fruit(whatever's available), a yogurt, low sodium V8, baby spinach, cucumbers and/or celery and ice. If I'm…
  • Strange as it may sound, I just made (and devoured) some yellow squash chips...They have a unique sweetness to them.
  • You look good! No worries! It's a super cute swimsuit, too!
  • I take Pump classes a couple times a week at the gym, Love them! I feel accomplished at the end! Have you tried any other Les Mills classes? I loooove the dance cardio ones and Combat.
  • bananas strawberries baby spinach yellow squash zucchini eggs (I buy the big pack of 2.5 dozen + 1 dozen. I boil the big pack and use the dozen for omelets and such) dannon light low sodium V8
