Chia seeds are an excellent source of fibre. I take them for that purpose.

OP, greater ROM or movement is better for overall strength. Train for what your goals are, if PL 'meets' are important you train for that. An article that may help you. https://www.t-nation.com/training/dispelling-the-glute-myth

I make sure the macros are a certain ratio. So it's a combo of calories, 16/8 and macros for me. IIFYM etc. :D

I'll be reducing carbs (most processed sugars) in Jan to cut fat for a shoot. Sugary treats are killers, it works great if you can do it. Post Jan depending on level of success reached, I'll re-add treat days no doubt. :D

Quark, Fage zero fat yoghurt.

Yes. It's an extremely good program. But the clue is in the title. It's called strong-lifts, not sixpack lifts. 'Looking good' might be a lovely side effect, but it's not the goal.

Currently going through a caffeine free September. Some atrocious headaches at the start, but things are OK now.

There is no need to increase any fat weight with adding muscle weight. Increase your protein ratio in your cals, and make sure your training is periodized to your specific goals.

Pretty much everyone has to. If optimal health and longevity is wanted. The more you go (and do the correct things) the more you stack the odds in your favour of being hale and hearty in your 80s/90s.

Are you in the UK? Then find your nearest parkrun. http://www.parkrun.org.uk/ Thousands of people running every Saturday morning, times ranging from 14 minutes to 50. :)

There are a lot of variables, the intensity of the exercise, the duration, the body composition of fat. But it still comes down to goals. As your body changes the way you execute your plans should evolve with it. We all work the same, but are at different stages. What is a Celsius drink? Is it like Lucozade/Gatorade?

What's the goal? Maximise fat loss, don't eat. Athletic performance, eat.

Thanks for the links.

That's one way. The gym is full of people with poor form. For a rank beginner, the best advice will be immediate hands on advice. Not necessarily a trainer, but someone right there beside you advising on technique.

Best thing you can do is get a program written for you by one of the trainers at your gym.

Great post. I hope those interested in losing fat and cutting down on carbs/sugar read it. Bananas/Grapes are high sugar fruits, eat these with care. Apples/Pears are medium sugar fruits, these are a little safer. Old world berries are low sugar fruits, and can be enjoyed as part of a low carb diet.
