In short, yes. When I first started eating primally, my calories dropped super low because of the high satiety factor of fat. I was not used to eating that much fat and that little carb. Over a month I began to be able to eat larger quantities of food as I became accustomed to eating more fat. I was also eating different…

I'm pretty much primal. Every once in a while a weird thing gets thrown into my diet like a 1/2 cup of corn syrup ice cream or 3 peanut butter crackers. But for the most part, I eat between 800 and 2600 calories a day depending on how hungry I am. I just eat when I am hungry, I find that later in the week I'll have a low…

Well, give it time. You haven't been able to wear summer dresses (and look like you want to) for longer than you have been trying to lose weight. If you wanted to wear summer dresses this summer, the time to to have been serious about it was last summer. Like everyone else said, eat more food and be PATIENT. All you will…

Congrats on the jogging. I am pretty much ready to quit after jogging slightly faster than a slow walk about halfway across my yard, but I'm pretty much at my goal weight. I have just never been much of a runner or jogger; I sort of envy those that can just keep going. I too had some skinny jean goals, but ended up never…

I'm 5'0" and weigh 122 lbs. Ankle : 8.5" Calf: 14.5" I have never thought my ankles or calves were too big. I do see lots of girls with smaller ankles and calves though. Girls with calves the size of their ankles look pretty silly to me, but everyone is built differently.

Hi and welcome to myfitnesspal. Knowing what you need to do is the first step toward completing it. Eating gluten free at home and on the go is easy enough but changing your habits concerning food is harder. Any paleo or primal websites and blogs will have oodles of gluten free recipes. One of my favorites is an…

It's really up to you. I rarely eat potatoes and rice while I eat no bread or pasta at all. This hasn't been very difficult for me as long as I am eating plenty of veggies, fruits, meat and fats. I tended to want to eat pasta and bread just because it was available, to dip in or mix with other foods, and because it was…

I personally like most of my veggies just lightly steamed with butter but salads, curries, and stir fries are other great ways to get veggies in. Here's a zucchini gratin that I love. Of course, it's pretty cheese heavy and easy to eat a lot of, so enjoy with caution. INGREDIENTS 2 cups squash/zucchini 1/2 sauteed onion 1…

Here are some of my favorite fish recipes. Note though, I eat low carb; if you don't, feel free to substitute in grains if you prefer. Copy and paste the url underneath to see the recipes via Pepperplate. Salmon Burgers Recipe courtesy of Eclectic Domestic at…

Honestly, I eat 1.5x - 2x the food on my period and before it because I am just plain hungry. I don't see the benefit in being hungry for no reason. I just try to make sure that I am either at or below calorie goal on my weekly average. If you eat maintenance for one week, you won't gain weight, just lose slightly less…

Welcome to MyFitnessPal. I love the tagline on your profile. That's part of what I wanted to when I started. It was like there wasn't a pair of jeans in the world that fit me. The best of luck and more to you!

An underweight BMI is 18.5 and below. 18.6 is very, very close. This is the absolute bottom end of the normal weight range.

I agree with seeing a nutritionist or doctor, and stopping the laxatives. You need to know what you can and can't eat. I want to comment on your weight goal though. 95lbs for a 5'0" person is almost underweight; I'm 5'0" myself. Take your weight loss slow, eat enough food, and exercise with with some regard for your body.…

Bananas are sort of carby but I think they are good for you. The shake doesn't seem like too much carb itself. For a mid morning snack you could choose not to have a fruit or a lower carb/sugar fruit. Berries can be good for that but fruits are important. Depends on the fruit you chose, is it in fruit juice or syrup? Fresh…

First, make sure you are measuring correctly, level and at the true waist. It's at the natural dent when you bend to the side. Then, just more calorie deficit. For a lot of people, belly fat is some of the last to go. Not to mention the fat under your belly fat will probably move first. Bodies like to use fat closer to…

I don't think I'm bikini motivated. I wore one at my fattest and I wear one now. I only just bought my first one piece suit 6 months ago to swim for real without a breast making an escape. As for chunky people out there, if your junk stays in your bikini and there is a size out there for you, wear it if you want! I don't…

How about: "Are you still dieting? How long are you going to that? No, I'm not dieting, I'm eating a salad of mixed greens with 4 tbs of straight olive oil. As for eating healthily, I plan to do that forever.

How many grams of carb you need in a day is variable and depends on quite a few factors. I have no idea what a shakeo is but I'd wager that's where your carbs are, and fruit. Depends on what and how much fruit you are eating. Carbs from real vegetables are negligible and mostly insoluble. Now if you are counting potatoes…

Yesterday I had a baked chicken thigh (I like stuffing cheese and mushrooms under the skin) seasoned with an herb mix, a portion of broccoli and a piece of calabaza squash (which is a tasty winter squash, I baked it drowning in butter). Tonight, I have no idea. I haven't gotten hungry yet.

I was pretty guilty of this. What I did was: eat tasty food. Eating tasty food made me want to savor it. Chew more, chewing more slows you down. Eat with other people and talk, this helps me too. I get busy talking and end up eating slower. I have never been a distracted eater, so I can't comment on that.

I like to drink a glass of water and find something productive to do. A lot of times I feel like eating crappy food just because I'm bored. I also try to think about how I will feel later. And of course, I try to determine if what I am feeling is actually hunger; in that case I substitute with an appropriate food. I like…

No worries, I usually eat between 25% and 37% carbohydrate on any given day (which translates to up to 115g sometimes). Honestly, expert opinions change frequently. I am not of the mind that every person requires up to 11 servings of grain in a day. I also agree, don't eat super low carb and don't eat low carb and low fat.…

I'm doing a relatively low carb diet. Of course, I haven't been logging well recently, I cheat sometimes, and I'm a 5'0" tall woman so don't gain inspiration from my calorie amounts. I try to not eat grains, and refined sugars. April 4, 14, 15, 17, and 22 have sort of good days. Some things to consider: cooking in more…

Eugh. Today, I have had two pieces of gnocchi and a caramel hard candy. But at some point in the last 7 days I ate a slice of freezer pizza because I hadn't eaten all day. I almost threw it up immediately after eating it. And I ate a bowl of "chili" made from ground beef and chili starter + 1/2 cup of sugar. It didn't come…

Every time I go crazy and "binge", I try to log my food anyway so that I have a good idea of what's going on later in my charts. I don't want to convince myself that I am on a better trajectory than I am. What's surprising is, rarely are my binges really an issue. Most the time I forgot to eat and what I'm stuffing in my…

When I am hungry but I am not feeling prep work, my options, or just feeling nauseous, I have a smoothie (usually with eggs), a frap made with cream, a little bit of trail mix, a piece of dark chocolate, cheese, summer sausage, or I munch on raw veggies. Of course I try to keep the sugar low in anything I have, not to pig…

I'm a 21 year old junior in college. College eating is hard but if you want it, you can do it.

I would just look for a different boot; it wasn't meant to be. I'm 5'0" and wear a size 7. I very commonly cannot fit my 37.5cm calf into a boot. I honestly think the calf area of boots on the market (especially for teens/young adults) are shrinking crazily. But if you really like them, I guess you can try. I honestly have…
